The purpose of this study is to analyze the disparity in on-the-job training between regular and non-regular workers and to compare the wage effects of on-the-job training. Using the Korean micro data from the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies(PIAAC) published by OECD, Propensity Score Method(PSM) is applied to overcome the endogeneity problem. The average treatment effect(ATT) on the training participation is analyzed, using non-regular workers as treatment group and regular workers as comparison group. Odds ratios of non-regular employees' training participation compared to regular employees shows 0.67 times after constructing matching sample and this means that non-regular workers are facing a disadvantageous training opportunity compared to regular workers. In order to estimate the wage effect of on-the-job training, the average treatment effect(ATT) of on-the-job training on average wages for regular workers and non-regular workers is estimated respectively. I find insignificant wage effect from on-the-job training among regular workers and significant positive effect on non-regular worker's wage from on-the-job training.
The purpose of this study is 1) to compare the employment status and wage level of "Clothing and Fashion" major (CF major) graduates with those from other majors and 2) to examine factors affecting the employment status and wage level of CF major university graduates. The data were pooled from the 2009-2012 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey Data, conducted by Korea Employment Information Service. First, when graduates of CF major were compared with other majors in the same academic area-natural science and arts-, the rate of employment was higher for CF majors than that of other majors; on the other hand, there is no difference in the wage levels between those with graduates in CF majors and those with other majors. Second, we examined factors affecting CF major graduates' employment and wage level based on graduates' individual factors, university factor, and job preparation factors. Employment status of graduates in CF major was predicted by respondent's gender and university type, and work experience. The wage level of CF major graduates was significantly predicted by individual factors (e.g., gender and age, university factors (e.g., university type, university program, location), and job preparation factors (e.g., certificates, overseas experience of foreign language training, English test scores). The results of this study would provide a guide to direct university educational program in order to assess the current capabilities in the field of clothing and fashion.

For the data analysis, the ordinary least square, fixed effect, and random effect regression models were used. Findings - The results indicate that the life satisfaction of people with disabilities is positively influenced by wage satisfaction, job stability satisfaction, working condition satisfaction, career development satisfaction, and communication satisfaction. Research implications or Originality - This study informs policy makers for the design of welfare for people with disability, specifically related to their labor conditions.
This study aimed to provide important information on vocational education and employment policy for the disabled by analyzing the relationship between disabled wage workers' occupational ability and job quality. For this purpose, the relationship between job competence and employment quality was theoretically examined and empirically analyzed based on human capital theory, screening theory, and job competition theory. The empirical analysis used data on 975 disabled wage workers with the use of the data of the 8th Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(2015). As a result of the empirical study, it was found that the occupational ability of the disabled workers is an important factor in determining Wage, job status, job satisfaction, which constitute the quality of employment. This result indicates that job quality can be improved by ameliorating disabled people's occupational ability. Accordingly, this study proposed that there might be a need to extend customized education and educational facilities for improving disabled people's occupational ability.
The purpose of this study was to ascertain the multiple mediating effect of mental health, which is composed of depression, disability acceptance, social-economic position, life satisfaction, on the relationship between disability discrimination and job satisfaction against wage earners with disabilities. A data of 992 wage earners with disabilities which derived from the fourth wave panel data provided at Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled were utilized. SPSS 20.0 and SPSS Indirect macro was conducted, and the results were verified by SPSS 20.0 and SPSS Indirect macro. The results were as follows : (1) Depression influenced between disability discrimination and job satisfaction directly or indirectly. (2) Disability acceptance mediated between disability discrimination and job satisfaction. (3) Social-economic position mediated between disability discrimination and job satisfaction. (4) Life satisfaction mediated between disability discrimination and job satisfaction. Based on the results, Based on the results, it suggested some methods of ascent of job satisfaction for wage earners with disabilities.
It is well known that the quality of job match has strong influence on the efficient allocation of labor resources in the economy on the macro level and also on the productivity of individual worker. Regarding this point we assumed that the selection of preferred job at the job entry can be interpreted as a subjective indicator of job match quality and tried to estimate the effects of such selection on the wage level. For this purpose we suggested random effects switching regression model and applied this model to the data of the Korea Labor Institute Panel Study from 1998 to 2000. As the results of estimation, we found that there exists large wage differentials at least more than fifty percent caused by such selection. Considering the fact that such wage differentials can not be suitably explained by the traditional reasons of the wage discrimination, we suggest the possibility that there also exists large productivity gap caused by the job mismatch and the necessity of improving the job placement service activity.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the social network of disabled wage worker on discrimination experience and job satisfaction and the mediating effect of discrimination experience, based on this, we propose a solution. For this purpose, data of 805 people with Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled were analyzed using data from the 8th year(2015). The results of the study are as follows: First, the social networks of disabled wage worker were found to reduce the discrimination experience and increase the job satisfaction. Second, the discrimination experience of disabled wage worker decreased job satisfaction and mediated the relationship between social network and job satisfaction. These results that the social network is important for the discrimination and job satisfaction of disabled people, and we suggest that is necessary to make efforts at government and enterprise level to strengthen the social network of the disabled.
This study examines the wage level from a viewpoint of major-job match as part of an analysis on the skill mismatch problem in 4-year college graduates. The empirical analysis explicitly incorporate the sample selection bias as an econometric problem not only suggested but merely introduced in the earlier studies. This study also set up a major-job match variable, which was usually handled as a binary variable for analytical convenience, as a polychotomous choice variable in selection equation as provided by the survey. In particular, it considered multi-cohort survey on graduates of the years 1982, 1992, and 2002 for the empirical analysis. As a result of empirical analysis, the wage premium of a major-job match was identified. This result was consistent after the consideration of a sample selection bias and also after modeling the major-job match variable as polychotomously selective. Through an analysis classified by the major, this study identified a relatively high wage premium among Social Science, Engineering, and Science majors. However, there was a difference in the effect of selection among these majors. Also, by assessing cohort effects this study found that the skill mismatch had rapidly progressed in 1992, while difference between 1992 and 2002 cohorts are insignificant. The analysis suggests that wage level is better understood within the context of both sample selection and major-job match, and regardless of model specification the major-job match affects wage strongly.
