Objectives : This study was intended to examine job satisfaction in dental hygienists working in the Gwangju Jeonnam area and provide basic materials for the efficient management of dental clinics and the improvement of working conditions in dental hygienists. Methods : In order to achieve this purpose, the questionnaire survey was conducted from August 13 to October 6, 2007. Of a total of 394 questionnaires, 34 was excluded because of poor responses and finally 360(Gwangju 296, Jeonnam 64) were analyzed. Results : For job satisfaction associated with the total career and turnover, satisfaction was increased with the total career. Job satisfaction associated with working conditions became higher as a monthly mean paycheck was increased or when an incentive, in the annual pay system and long-service men preference was provided(p<0.05). Job satisfaction was 3.26. The highest satisfaction at detailed factors was found in patient relation(3.85), colleague relation(3.40), prospects(3.26), dentistry organization(3.17), autonomy(3.10), and pay(2.78). For detailed factors of job satisfaction, the most influential factor was monthly mean paycheck, followed by incentive, age and marriage(p<0.05). Conclusions : When dental hygienists' working environment is planned and improved in the rational and desirable direction, their job satisfaction will be improved. As a result, it will contribute to a decrease in the jobless rate and an increase in the productivity of oral care and the efficiency of hospital management.
Stress is a primary health promotion issue in worksite research because psychological distress is closely related not only to workers health status but also to their job performance. This study identified the work environment and work condition factors affecting workers stress symptoms among the Korean manufacturing factory workers. A total of 7,818 factory workers employed in 1,562 manufacturing companies participated in the Korean nation-wide occupational health survey conducted by the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Agency in 2003. Participants were selected by the stratified proportional sampling process by standardized industry classification, company size, and locations. Trained interviewers visited the target companies and interviewed the factory workers randomly selected in each company. Work environments included physical work environments (temperature, noise, hazardous organic compounds, and so on) and psychological work environments (job demands, job control, and social support at work), and work conditions included daily working hour, rest time, and so on. Men were 71.5% and the mean age was 34.0 years old. The average working period in the present company was 6.9 years. The average stress score was 26.2 under the perfect score, 50, which means the moderate level of stress. Perceived stress had significant correlations with young age, poor physical work environment, high fatigue, bad perceived health status, and high job demands in Pearson's simple correlation analysis. Perceived health status and perceived fatigue explained 21% variance of stress symptoms and the work environment factor explained 4.8% of that; however, work condition did not have the sufficient effect. In particular, psychosocial work environment variables (job demand, job control, and social support at work) had a clear effect on stress symptoms rather than the physical work environments. Poor perceived health status, severe perceived fatigue, poor physical work environment, high job demands, low social support, heavy alcohol consumption and little exercise were significantly related to high stress symptoms in the Korean manufacturing workers.
This study was carried out to investigate the job characteristics and relationships between general characteristics and job satisfaction of the dietician in community health center. The subjects were 40 dieticians who responded to the questionnaire distributed at the annual education program in 1997. Statistical data analysis was completed using SAS package program for frequencies, means, $x^2$-test, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 45.0% of the dieticians were 26 to 30 years old, four-year-course university graduates were 75.0% and daily workers were 72.5% The level of the job satisfaction of the dietician in community health center was the highest in the relationship with colleagues. The other parts of job satisfaction such as effects of nutrition counselling and education, value achievement as a dietician, general work and supervision by supervisors were above average, The general characteristics such as the age, the level of education, employment conditions, working hours per week and total length of service were significantly to all fields of job satisfaction except general work.
The factors which impact on the productivity of medical organization are technique, manager, raw materials, management style, manpower structure, job construction, and so on. Human resources is the most important factor among them, but the productivity of serice organization can not be measured easily. The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of laboratory status, the degree of job cognition, and stress on the productivity of dantal prosthetic products, and to fine out the factors which impact on the productivity. The results were as follows: 1. The job characteristice of crown bridge laboratory part and porcelain laboratory part similar to each other. Also partial denture laboratory part and complete denture laboratory part were similar to each other. But that of orthodontic laboratory part was different from other. 2. the degree of job cognition made significant difference statisfically according to job characteristics of each dental laboratorise. 3. The correlation coefficient between job cognition of dental laboratory technician and workshop environment was.23, but the correlation between job cognition job stress appeared reversely, its coefficient was-.17. 4. The productivity of technician engaged in dental laboratory was much heigher than that of technician engaged in dental clinical laboratory room, and each were different in the degree of job cognition. 5. the most important factors which impact one the performance productivity of dental laboratory technician were the fact whether he married or not and his status.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the work conditions, reported stress, role conflict and job satisfaction of infection control nurses working in general hospitals. Methods: The subjects were 125 infection control nurses from 102 general hospitals. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of questions about general characteristics, job characteristics, work condition, stress, role conflict, and job satisfaction. Data were collected from July to September 2011 and analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation, and Stepwise multiple regression in SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Over fifty percent (56.0%) of infection control nurses reported the majority of their time was monitoring intensive units. The average reported stress was 7.20, role conflict was 3.67, and job satisfaction was 3.14. The factors which influenced job satisfaction were stress, enough information, annual income, and the number of hospital beds. Conclusion: The factors contributing to job stress of infection control nurses need to be specifically identified. Education and training for infection control personnel should be provided to enhance job satisfaction.
Purpose: Geographical relocation has been conducted to alleviate overcrowding and to support balanced regional development in many countries. Previous studies have seldom examined the effectiveness of relocation on job and life dissatisfaction, particularly in the public sector. The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of relocation on job and life dissatisfaction. Proposed research questions include the following: i) do working conditions in the new workplace and interactivity affect job dissatisfaction? ii) do social infrastructure and social activity in the new location affect life dissatisfaction? and iii) is there a relationship between job and life dissatisfaction? Research Design, data, and methodology: The study collected data via an online survey and applied statistical analyses such as factor analysis, regression, and ANOVA. Results: The results of this study found that proposed determinants excluding mobility inefficiency and decision-making affect job and life dissatisfaction. The results also showed that there are relationships between job and life dissatisfaction. Conclusions: The results of this study provide both managerial and policy implications of relocation for the public sector. The results of this study implied that better policy should be designed to increase job and life satisfaction that also accounts for the realities of relocation.

The purpose of this study is to explore the link between job satisfaction and organizational commitment at higher education institutions (HEIs) in emerging countries such as Vietnam and to determine extrinsic work factors that influence job satisfaction. Higher education is critical for socio-economic growth and the overall development of each country. Hence, an understanding of what motivates employees' actions and attitudes should be obtained before determining the extent of employee satisfaction. The conceptual model was developed by incorporating job satisfaction-related variables, their relationships, and the impact of job satisfaction on organizational commitment. An empirical study was conducted on a study sample of public and private universities, with 316 academics and non-academic employees surveyed. The current study employed the partial least squares structural equation modeling to test the proposed hypotheses. The results reveal a positive and significant relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings confirm that extrinsic work factors (job itself, supervision, working conditions, payment, and reward and recognition) have a positive and significant relationship with job satisfaction. Furthermore, the study indicates that employees at HEIs who have a high level of ability utilization and supervisor support are more likely to be satisfied with their jobs.

Methods: The participants were 386 nurses sampled from Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data, and the data were analyzed by applying t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression with SAS 8.12. Results: A positive correlation existed among professionalism, organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Major factors that influenced organizational commitment were job satisfaction, religion, educational status, and a sense of calling (one of the subcategories of professionalism), which explained 54.1%. Major factors that affected job satisfaction were organizational commitment, educational status, and the subcategories of professionalism including a sense of calling, a service to the public, self-regulation and professional autonomy, which explained 60.8%. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, the professionalism is one of the critical factors linked to organizational commitment and job satisfaction among clinical nurses. In order to promote organizational commitment and job satisfaction among nurses, an appropriate practical support system, which is applicable to diverse conditions, should be developed and applied in nursing.
