THD Reduction by Using HBML-PWM Hybrid Type Inverter (HBML-PWM 혼용 인버터를 이용한 THD 저감)

  • In this paper, we proposed the electric circuit using one common arm of H-Bridge Inverters to reduce the number of switching component in multi-level inverter combined with H-Bridge Inverters and Transformers. and furthermore we suggested the new multi-level PWU inverter using PWM level to reduce THD(Total Harmonic Distortion). and we used the switching method that can be same rate of usage at each transformer. Also, we tested the proposed prototype 9-level inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of control signal for the proposed multi-level PWM inverter.

  • When induction motor is driven with a load commutated inverter, the output part of the inverter must be capacitive. But, in order to be a good load commutation at the low speed range, very large capacitor or force commutated circuit must be used regarding the capacity of motor. This paper proposed the force commutated circuit for driving the motor in case of the installation of capacitor which can be capable of load commutation at the rating speed. The force commutated circuit is operated by the LC resonant circuit, auxiliary source and SCR, and also composed of the commutation circuit which control the interval of the inverse voltage across the inverter.

The Study of a Hairpin Line Resonator Filter Design by Using a J Inverter (J 인버터를 이용한 Hairpin Line 필터설계 연구)

  • The filter of hairpin type can be designed small but has a demerit which a design method is complex. This paper suggests the method that a hairpin line filter is designed with applying a transmission line method and J inverter circuit, accurately calculated the J value and the b parameter. It is considered about the line have no the mutual coupling element with next line to each other. is calculated a length of electric coupling line about coupling element in each inverter stage from the J value and the b parameter. In order to show the validity of the proposed design method, band pass filter of small hairpin line is designed at center frequency 2.6 GHz, with Serenade 8.0 software tool and the simulation characteristics are compared with design results.

  • This Paper presents a 6 pulse shift operation control mode of current-source-inverter to make improvement of efficiency and to reduce the frequency of inverter switching for photovoltaic generation system using PWM current-source-inverter. This system is connected solar cell energy directly without using a storage cell. The proposed circuit can maintain maximum voltage of photovoltaic generation of take advantage of six Buck-Boost converter and a full-bridge inverter determines the polarity of AC output. That is controlled by using digital signal processor TMS320F2812 for operation about a 6 pulse shift operation control of current-source-inverter, and it is verified through the experimental results.

  • In this paper, we proposed the novel hybrid multi-level inverter using combination of the output voltage of transformers to reduce the THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) and improve the waveform of output voltage. The proposed multi-level inverter used the output of transformer which is 1times, 2times, 4times of input of the transformers. So we increased the output voltage from the reduce the number of switching component and transformer. Also, we tested the proposed prototype 15-level inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of control signal for the proposed multi -level PWM inverter.

  • The V/F slip frequency constant control methods are used for driving induction motor with load commutated current source inverter, that is. constant V/F and slip frequency driving is used to load commutate the inverter below the critical frequency, while constant voltage and variable frequency and slip frequency driving are used in above the critical region. In order to applicate the load commutated current source inverter to the general use, speed control range of induction noter is selected to two times at rated frequency. Therefore, economical application is possible because of the maximum reduction of the condenser of the inverter output port. The use of the proposed force commutated circuit improves the false operation of force commutated circuit and inverter commutation failure which are produced by the influence of the lower-order harmonics of the conventional load commutated current source inverter at starting.

  • The diagnosis of power converter using auxiliary circuit connected to output terminal is proposed and verified by experimental results in this paper. On contrary to conventional diagnosis method, the proposed monitoring technique is possible to measure the state of power converter and unbalanced output caused by a misfiring of switch and unusual control signal. Conventional method gives a monitoring approaches for only a unusual operation of power converter. In this paper, three signals with auxiliary circuit are obtained and analyzed to see the state of electrolytic capacitor, power semiconductor switches and output voltage balance. 2kVA inverter is made and fisted to verify the proposed circuit.
