We reviewed 39 empirical studies that were published between 2010 and 2023. The studies that were chosen are classified based on the artificial intelligence business technique, empirical research design, and SLR search protocol criteria. According to the findings, machine learning and artificial intelligence were reported as popular methods used for business process modelling in 19% of the studies. Healthcare was the most experimented business domain used for empirical evaluation in 28% of the primary research. The most common reason for using artificial intelligence in businesses was to improve business intelligence. 51% of main studies claimed to have been carried out as experiments. 53% of the research followed experimental guidelines and were repeatable. For the design of business process modelling, eighteen AI mythology were discovered, as well as seven types of AI modelling goals and principles for organisations. For AI-enabled business models, safety, security, and privacy are key concerns in society. The growth of AI is influencing novel forms of business.

  • Despite our extensive understanding on the Internet business and widely understood first-mover advantage. it is not clearly answered yet whether an internet firm can enjoy the first-mover advantage in the new environment of the Internet. This is mainly because the Internet marketplace itself has a complex combination of various business models, ranging from a simple channel-extension to a whole new business model. Based on new theoretical development on the first-mover advantage, we empirically test whether being an early mover in the Internet environment materially affects firm performance, using clickstream data from Korea where broadband Internet installation is ranked as top among OECD countries. Our results show the effectiveness of first-mover advantage on the web does not exist, regardless of its business model and competitive environment. This result expands our understandings on the e-business, not to mention of the real feature of first-mover advantage.

  • The real estate portal has grown into a successful e-Business model that is combined on and off line. Although IT technologies have shown rapid growth, the real estate portals have failed to satisfy the expectations of the Internet users. Based on Michael Porter's competitive forces framework, this study proposes five competitive strategies for continuing growth of the real estate portals. First, to strengthen bargaining power against supplier, buyer and potential new entrants, the real estate portals need to construct a basic network that is cost efficient and maintains real estate goods and makes profits by collaborative deals. Second, strengthen brand value and endeavor to escape from dependency on the Internet portals. Third, develop services to consider changed circumstances and give a lot of sources to make profit to real estate agencies. Fourth, concentrate on marketing to draw in the Internet users and adapt strategies that have been successful in other fields. Finally, real estate fields can seek out ideas for developing new business models from other successful e-Business models and should benchmark them to reduce expenses to a minimum and increase benefits to a maximum.

  • The purpose of this study is to prove the Korean Internet company, Kakao's resilience capacity. For it, this paper reviews the previous literatures regarding Kakao's business models and discusses 'resilience' theory. Then, it organizes the research questions based on the theoretical background and explains the research methodology. It investigates the case of Kakao's business and organization. The case analysis shows that five levers of resilience are a good indicator for a successful platform business evolution. The five levers are composed of coordination, cooperation, clout, capability, and connection: First lever, coordination that makes the company to restructure its silo governance in order to respond to actual business flow starting from the basic asset like game and music content; second lever, cooperation where the firm provides creative people with playground for startups such as KakaoPage; third lever, clout where the company shares its data by opening its API of AI and chatbot to $3^{rd}$ party developers; fourth lever, capability where the firm establishes AI R&D center, KakaoBrain as the function of multi-domain generalist for developing diverse platforms tackling customer needs; and the last fifth lever, connection where the firm continues to expand its platform business to the peripheries, O2O businesses such as KakaoTaxi, KakaoOrder, KakaoPay, and KakaoBank. In conclusion, this study proposes Internet companies to be a resilient platform utilizing those five levers of resilience in order to form successful platform. This study contributes to the agile innovation of Internet platform with ecological sense.
