IT 프로젝트 팀에 있어서 내외부 사회적 자본과 조직 분위기에 관한 연구 (Exploring the Relationship between Social Capital and Team Climate in IT Project Teams)

  • IT project teams are composed of experts from various domains with different backgrounds, such as business and technologies. Thus, enhancing knowledge sharing and increasing team social capital are critical for the success of the project. This study examines the relationship among the team social capital, team climate and team performance. A research model and hypotheses are developed from literature review and empirically validated. The research model consists of team social capital, team climate and team performance. Specifically, team social capital, as antecedents, wasconceptualized asinternal and external differentiated by team boundary, and team climate is conceptualized as innovative climate and supportive climate. Using measures adopted from previous studies, 166 data points were collected to test the research model and related hypotheses. PLS data analysis indicated that internal and external social capitalhave positive effect on innovative climate while internal social capital has a positive effect on supportive team climate. The innovative and supportive climate has significant effect on the team performance. Based on the results, we proposed several team management skills for IT project managers. Theoretical constributions are discussed at the end with limitations and further studies.

농촌지역개발사업 참여주민의 사회적 자본 인식유형 연구 -Woolcock의 사회적 자본 이론을 중심으로- (A Study on the Types of Social Capital Perception of Residents Participating in Rural Area Development Projects -Focused on Woolcock's Social Capital Theory-)

  • The government is in the process of pursuing various resident-driven rural development projects for rural development. Accordingly, the government is promoting various software projects to enhance social capital in order to effectively involve residents in rural development projects. However, residents' participation in rural development projects is still passive, while passive residents' involvement creates various problems such as conflicts among residents in the process of project implementation and poor operation after project implementation. This study is intended to be a basis for inducing voluntary community participation in rural development projects by disclosing the intention of residents to participate in the community's internal solidarity with social capital and connection with external communities. According to the analysis of 195 rural residents, three groups were divided according to the level of social capital awareness. While individualist groups with low integration and social capital were 25.1%, they were more integrated, but the average family-oriented group was 42.5%, and social-development groups with high integration and linked social capital were 32.3%. This study is meaningful in that it revealed that the social capital of the resident community is an important factor in both the internal solidarity (integrity) and the external community connection (connectivity) in the rural area development project.

  • The article defines the basic concepts: "election campaign", "social capital", "conversion of social capital"; the principles and methods of research of social capital conversion in election campaigns are studied; the process of using social capital in politics is defined; ways of converting social capital into politics are considered; the possibilities of converting social capital in election campaigns are described. Election campaigns have been found to be a successful form of social capital conversion. The ability to use social capital in the election campaign speaks of its high potential. Election campaigns are not an effective use of social capital.

한국 마을단위 사회적 자본의 형성 -1970년대 새마을운동의 경험- (The Formation of Social Capital in Korean Village - Experience of Saemaul Undong in the 1970s -)

  • This research started from the perspective that dynamics of the Saemaul Undong in the village which is a unit of saemaul development is the formation of social capital. The subjects of this research are 122 success village stories of Saemaul Undong in 1970~1979. Through the content analysis, it extracted the social capital elements in the Saemaul Undong practice process and analyzed their characteristics. As a result of the research, it was confirmed that the formation and utilization of internal and external networks, which are structural capital, actively developed. Saemaul Undong contributed to formation and strengthening of relational capital such as trust and norms. This will be used as a basic data for research on Saemaul Undong, and it can be used as an index of the participation of villagers in rural development strategy of developing countries.

유니콘 기업의 성공에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 탐색적 연구: 중국 IT 기업을 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study of a Chinese IT Unicorn Company)

  • Purpose - As the research of Chinese unicorn companies is still in early stages, this paper aims to investigate the factors that influence the success of Chinese IT unicorns. Design/methodology/approach - This study is conducted as a single case study and used various sources such as interviews, internal data, press releases, IR data, etc. to enhance the reliability and validity. Findings - First, the characteristics of the start-up team, social capital, and strategies as internal factors affect the success of unicorns. Among them, the more Guanxi in social capital factors, the greater the possibility of growing into an IT unicorn company. Second, the role of venture capital and geographical location have been identified that two factors affect the success of unicorns. In the role of venture capital, it has been confirmed that the world's top-level venture capital company or a company that has been invested by "BATJ" is more likely to grow into a unicorn company in China. Research implications or Originality - This paper distinguishes between internal and external factors to explain the factors that affect the growth of unicorn companies, which lays the foundation for future research, such as the exploration of the unicorns and the development of new variables.

산업클러스터 내 사회적 자본이 기업성과에 미치는 영향: 조직학습의 역할을 중심으로 (The effect of social capital on firm performance within industrial clusters: Mediating role of organizational learning of clustering SMEs)

  • Although the success of industrial clusters largely depends on whether clustering firms can achieve economic performance, there has been less attention on investigating factors and conditions contributing to the performance enhancement for clustering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Along this vein, we adopt the theories of social capital and organizational learning as those success factors for clustering SMEs. This study thus aims at examining what effect social capital accrued in the relationships among actors within clusters has on firm performance of clustering SMEs and what role organizational learning plays in the linkage between social capital and firm performance. For the empirical analysis, we operationalized the variables and their measures to develop questionnaires through the theoretical reviews on literatures. As a sample of 227 clustering SMEs, our collected data was analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis. The results confirmed that a high level of social capital, represented by network, trust, and norm, has positive effect on firm performance of clustering SMEs. We also found that clustering firms presenting high organizational learning, represented by absorptive and transformative capability, achieve better performance than those placing less value on organizational learning. Furthermore the significant relationship between social capital and firm performance is mediated partially through organizational learning. These findings imply not only that the territorial agglomeration of industrial cluster does not guarantee the performance creation of clustering SMEs but that they need to develop social capital among various actors within clusters, facilitating their knowledge diffusion. In order to absorb and mobilize the shared knowledge and information into strategic resources, the firms should improve their capability associated with organizational learning. These expand our understanding on the importance of social capital and organizational learning for the performance enhancement of clustering firms. Differentiating from major studies addressing benefits and advantages of industrial cluster, this study based on the perspective of firm-internal business process contributes to the literature advancement. Strategic and policy implications of this study are discussed in detail.

사회적자본찾기프로그램이 보호관찰소 청소년의 진로정체감과 임파워먼트에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Social Capital Discovery Program on Career Identity and Empowerment of Adolescents on Probation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 사회적자본찾기 프로그램이 보호관찰소 청소년의 진로정체감과 임파워먼트에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구결과 사회적자본찾기 프로그램은 보호관찰소 청소년의 진로정체감 하위 영역가운데 안정성, 목표지향성, 독특성, 자기존재의식 영역에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였으며, 자기주장 영역은 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 또한 사회적자본찾기 프로그램이 보호관찰소 청소년의 임파워먼트 하위 영역 가운데 개인내적, 대인관계 부분에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였으며, 정치사회적 영역은 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 사회적자본찾기 프로그램이 보호관찰소 청소년의 진로정체감과 임파워먼트 향상에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것을 증명한 것이다. 앞으로 보호관찰소 청소년들의 진로정체감 및 임파워먼트 향상을 위해 더욱더 활발한 사회적자본찾기 프로그램에 대한 연구가 필요하며 실제로 활용도를 높여 가야 할 것이다.

최고경영진의 인적 및 사회적 자본이 정부의 R&D 지원제도 활용과 초기 성과에 미치는 영향 (Top Management's Human and Social Capital Effect on Governmental R&D Support System Utilization and Success)

  • Purpose - This study attempts to analyze whether or not there are characteristics among the top management of companies that promote corporate performance at venture companies. It investigates the characteristics of the human and social capital that are inherent in top management at a venture company and conducts an empirical analysis of hypotheses examining if these characteristics will affect utilization of the governmental R&D support system as well as affect the firm's initial success. Research design, data, and methodology - This study conducted theoretical and empirical research together to accomplish the goal of the study. The pilot study researched human capital and social capital as the independent variables; the governmental R&D support system as the parameter; and, the initial success as the dependent variable. The empirical study carried out research on the model, establishment of hypotheses, and the statistical treatment. A survey was conducted targeting top management of high-tech venture companies in Daedeok Innopolis; 500 questionnaires were distributed; and, 222 were collected. Results - The human and social capital inherent in top management at venture companies in the early stages of their existence become good evaluation data for those who are invested in similar resources. If top management includes strong human and social capital, access to external resources will be easier; these will have a positive influence on the selection of overnmental support systems; and, this proper support will also have a positive influence on the initial success of the venture company. The results revealed the following. First, it was found that when the educational level and functional background, (the top management human capital), are the output function, top management human capital had a significant influence on selection of governmental R&D support funds. Second, it was found that the internal social capital and external social capital, (the top management social capital), had a significant influence on selection of governmental R&D support tasks. Third, it was found that selection of the governmental R&D support tasks at the start of the venture company had a positive influence on the corporate financial performance such as sales, business profits, and the increase in workers; and, had a significant influence on nonfinancial performance such as market share, competitive position, product competitiveness, and the future product development. Conclusions - Selection of the governmental R&D support system is not recognized as part of the direct sales of a venture company in its early stages, but as it can reduce costs for technical development and helps significantly in creating test products and mass production, it has a positive influence on the company's financial performance and nonfinancial performance as a result. Therefore, companies should take great efforts to frequently be selected as a candidate in the governmental R&D support system, as it can help facilitate R&D that requires extensive funds. As a result, companies can expect effects such as job creation and patent applications and they can advance future product sales.

정보기술 활용이 사회적 자본과 산업 클러스터 혁신성과에 미치는 영향 분석: 판교 테크노벨리를 중심으로 (An Analysis on the Impact of Information Technology Usage on the Social Capital and Innovation Performance in an Industrial Cluster: Based on the PanGyo Technovalley)

  • 본 연구는 판교 테크노벨리를 대상으로 결속형 및 교량형 사회적 자본이 산업단지 내 기술적 혁신성과에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 사회적 자본의 선행요인으로 "정보기술활용"의 역할에 주목하였다. 정보기술을 활용함으로써 내·외부 구성원과의 커뮤니케이션 및 정보교환이 활성화되고 이에 다양한 관계망을 확장시켜 네트워크화 할 수 있기 때문이다. 연구결과 정보기술 활용은 결속형 자본과 교량형 자본에 모두 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다. 하지만 사회적 자본이 기술적 혁신성과에 미치는 영향에 있어서는 뚜렷한 차이가 발견되었다. 판교 테크노벨리의 경우 신뢰나 협력을 중심으로 한 강한 결속 관계보다는 다양한 네트워크를 통해 형성되는 교량형 자본의 효과가 기술적 혁신 성과에 유의하게 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 현상은 판교 테크노벨리의 구조적 특성상 IT기반의 기업들이 대부분 입주되어 있으며 비교적 쉽게 정보를 공유하며 다양한 사람들과 자연스럽게 네트워크가 형성되는 특성에 기인한다고 해석된다.

사회적자본찾기 프로그램이 여대생의 임파워먼트와 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 융합연구 (A Convergence study the Effect of the social capital discovery program on empowerment and career preparation activity of female college students)

  • 본 연구는 사회적자본찾기 프로그램이 여대생의 임파워먼트와 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 융합 연구이다. K시 소재 4년제 여자대학에 재학하는 대학생들을 대상으로 실험집단 30명과 통제집단 30명을 선정하여 사전-사후 통제집단 설계(Pre test-Post test Group Design) 방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과 사회적자본찾기 프로그램은 여대생의 임파워먼트 하위 영역가운데 개인내적, 정치 사회적 영역에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였으며, 대인관계 영역은 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 또한 사회적자본찾기 프로그램이 여대생의 진로준비행동 하위 영역 가운데 정보수집활동, 실천행동 부분에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 사회적자본찾기 프로그램이 여대생의 임파워먼트와 진로준비행동에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것을 증명한 것이다. 앞으로 여대생의 임파워먼트와 진로준비행동 향상을 위해 더욱더 활발한 사회적자본찾기 프로그램에 대한 연구가 필요하며 실제로 활용도를 높여 가야 할 것이다.
