Context-aware technologies have become the one of core technologies for intelligent urban geospatial services in ubiquitous computing environment. To provide context-aware intelligent services, various technologies including for context-aware modelling, context-aware sensing and context-aware service middleware are required. Among them, especially, ontologies are very useful for modelling, interpreting and reasoning context informations across various domains. In this research, the recent trends of context-awareness technologies and ontologies are reviewed to build a conceptual architecture for intelligent urban geospatial services. Considering it, the strategies of intelligent urban geospatial services are proposed.
Geographic information with convergence ubiquitous IT technologies becomes much more intelligent. In ubiquitous space, users can make information access easier and the use of geographic information more efficient through the 'Geospatial Web,' as a platform between the real world and the virtual world. Many global IT venders make an effort to develop innovated technologies, such as Geospatial web platforms and engines. This study examines the concept of 'Geospatial Web,' technology trends for intelligent geographic information and standardization activities for ubiquitous geographic information. Finally, to obtain international market competitiveness, the technology development strategies for intelligent geographic information are suggested.

Geospatial information, which deeply has an effect on our life, have been evolved as intelligent geospatial information in Ubiquitous era. Also, Various services are introduced using the intelligent geospatial information. However, there is no classification system, for understanding the intelligent geospatial information services, considering any developers and users. It needs to be classification system to classify these services. In this paper, we introduced a concept of intelligent geospatial information and developed a service classification matrix regarding to the features of the services. This service classification matrix has three scales; service domain, service intelligent level, and geo-location accuracy. The propose of this matrix can be utilized in two aspects. First, the matrix can improve the reality that doesn't reflect actual demands for the services. Second, the matrix can present the goal of the new services or the development direction. The matrix can be utilized to the geospatial industry as creating the new blue ocean services. However, the service classification matrix needs to modify and complement to have no anything wrong when the various services are applied to the matrix. In the long run, the matrix has to be utilized as a material to make out a service roadmap or TRM(Technical Reference Model).

Recently, convergence phenomena among industries are appeared with the rapid development of information and communication technology and technology convergence also is emerging as a key issue. Especially, geospatial information industry may be expected to conduct a role as a pioneer in this convergence era. In order to do this, all fields of geospatial information should be classified systematically and interoperability and compatibility among geospatial information systems should be acquired. In this paper, a technical reference model of intelligent geospatial information is proposed to show a hierarchical technical system in the field of geospatial information. The model is developed with five core research projects of Korean Land Spatialization Group (KLSG) and includes also the scope and importance of core technology in the system. The model would be helpful to manage and control all projects of KLSG.
During over decades, metadata on spatial data have been developed, and they have been widely applied at the national and international metadata standards such as file structure, format, and data model. However, in the web 2.0 paradigm toward user participation and openness, sources and contents of geospatial products are also diversified, not being limited to well-organized and structured data sets or databases. Especially, software products in both open source software and commercially packaged software are considered into important resources in the geospatial domain. But there are no reports or studies regarding software metadata from the side of software engineering or information technology, till now. The motivation of this study is based on practical needs to build search engine in the intelligent geospatial web. Brief review on current metadata standards is presented, and necessity for software metadata is discussed as well as related works. Basic elements, initially considered, of software metadata are presented. This work is the first attempt for software metadata, although it just covers geospatial software products. Further practical works to meet industrial demands need to actual applications of software metadata.
As demands of intelligent urban geospatial information services are increasing in u-Cities, development and use of service standards for the cities are required to make the services interoperable. Conformance tests can be conducted for the standards to implement the services more interoperably and consistently. To improve the interoperability between services, it is necessary to build an evaluation model for services in a perspective of conformance tests. In the context, this study reviews the related references and establishes a conceptual model of the conformance tests for the services and provides an application of the model to a monitoring service for flowing water quantity to prove its usefulness.

The objective of this project is to construct the intelligent underground facility management system based on UFSN (Underground Facility Sensor Network). Total project duration is 6-year. And first two years' project has been finished. First two years' project focused on water supply and sewage facilities among 7 underground facilities and investigated the fundamental construction technology for the underground facilities management system. To contribute the development of systematic and scientific management of underground facilities, KRIHS implemented 3 researches for 'Underground facilities management system for an intelligent city' like followings: (1) to investigate an integration plan for current water supply and sewage management systems, (2) to derivate of water supply and sewage monitoring items for the monitoring technology development, and (3) to implement a basic research for sensor installation plans on different types of current and new underground facility systems. This research paper contains the first two years' outcome of researches from KRIHS (Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements).

In this study, we proposed the social map system prototype for intelligent crime prevention. For developing the social map system prototype, functional requirements were derived through the analysis of related cases and preceding studies. Derived requirements are providing a variety of map-based safety information, using crowdsourcing data such as SNS, connecting to intelligent CCTV. To satisfy these requirements, the prototype is developed with four main menus: the integrated search menu including social media data, the safety map menu providing a variety of safety and danger information, the community map menu to collect safety and danger information from users, and the CCTV menu providing the link to intelligent CCTV. The social map for intelligent crime prevention in this study is expected to greatly enhance the safety of local community with the provision of prompt response to risk information, safe route, etc. through actual service and user participation.

Since 2012, the local autonomous governments, under the recommendations regarding cancellation of local committees directing overly-unexecuted urban planning facilities, have tried to prove validity of such facilities. Factors such as specific standards of cancelation process, will execute policies, diversification of local conditions, connectivity to nearby facilities and possible arise of civil complaints, however, all hinder overly-unexecuted urban planning facilities from getting revitalized. Considering that these unexecuted facilities that local governments have to manage increase in number every year, the burden continuously increases for the governments due to the difficulty of setting aside budget for performing validity checks on such facilities. This research aims to analyze the criteria regarding efficient and systematic method on confirming validity of overly-unexecuted urban planning facilities, to establish into several different processes according to defined categories, and to objectify and quantify such standards. Also, using intelligent spatial information such as digital map, LiDAR data and ortho-images, spatial information analysis method suitable for reassessment was chosen and applied to execute validity analysis regarding overly-unexecuted urban planning facilities.
