Development of Integrated Computer Interface for Power Wheelchair User (휠체어 사용자를 위한 통합형 컴퓨터 입력장치의 개발)

  • This paper reports a noble instrument that helps physically disabled people to access computers. There have been numerous attempts to develop such a methodology, but most of them require an additional space for workstation often including access program installation. The additional space also needs to be carefully designed to consider each specific disabled area. This study aims to develop a system that removes the spacial limitation by putting the integrated computer interface using the wheelchair controller. The implementation of the computer workstation is performed by utilizing an USB interface. The developed equipment will take an important role to support various social lives for the users and eventually to improve their quality of life.

An Interface Configuration of Passive Integrated Picocell for the Wireless Broadband Internet System (광대역 무선인터넷 시스템의 수동피코셀 접속 구도)

  • This paper presents an interface configuration between the Access Point(AP) of Wibro and Radio Over Fiber(ROF) transceivers for the wireless broadband internet system. The wireless internet could provides 60km/h mobility and 50Mbps IP based data services for each mobile terminal. Thus, low cost of each cell is inevitably required. This paper suggests an interface configuration between AP and Passive Integrated Picocell(PIP) involving ROF links. Characteristics of a typical Fabry-Perot ROF link and a PIP using a passive Electro-Absorption Modulator(EAM) are described and measured for wireless internet applications. In addition, results of RF coverage of a PIP have been shown.

  • This research presents a prototype development and implementation of Decision Support System (DSS) for integrated river basin water management for the flood control. The DSS consists of Relational Database Management System, Hydrologic Data Monitoring System, Spatial Analysis Module, Spatial and Temporal Analysis for Rainfall Event Tool, Flood Forecasting Module, Real-Time Operation of Multi Reservoir System, and Dialog Module with Graphical User Interface and Graphic Display Systems. The developed DSS provides an automated process of alternative evaluation and selection within a flexible, fully integrated, interactive, centered relational database management system in a user-friendly computer environment. The river basin decision-maker for the flood control should expect that she or he could manage the flood events more effectively by fully grasping the hydrologic situation throughout the basin.

  • An integrated operation method of production control system for chemical-product job-shops is presented in this paper. A possible application of real-time control system is suggested to handle data from laboratory materials requirements to finished product shipment. A low cost intra-net is constructed to be used as the system network and applications are developed using Visual Basic. CGI programming is done to interface the applications with necessary databases.

  • U-City related researches and development have been actively conducted in Korea since 2002. According to the Act on Ubiquitous City Construction, "U-City" is defined as "the city to provide ubiquitous service anytime anywhere through the existing ubiquitous backbone systems and ubiquitous technologies, ultimately for the purpose of improving urban competitiveness and quality of life. This research explains the plan to develop collective management technology for integrated operation of U-Space which makes up U-City. Specifically, this report is intended to suggest basic approach of identifying collective management elements of each U-Space type, developing integrated management system and creating interface module to link the system with urban integrated operation center.

  • We design an integrated production management system that incorporates management tasks of procurement of materials, production, and marketing. It includes MRP simulation on small or medium sized companies, design of databases, and definition of relevant objects in production environments. The system has been designed using object-oriented programming concept not only to represent the real-world situation easily, but also to help system integration. Graphics-User Interface(GUI) is also employed for the efficiency of production planning.

  • This paper deals with the network interface of research and observation instruments in the oceanographic research vessel with an establishment of related database for measured information. The system is implemented to integrated communication network system which allows to effective survey by using real time observation and GUI(Graphic User Interface). The system also consists of the LAN systems and serial interface to link chemical, physical, biological and environmental relations. And, other network service and vessel data service for data communication between vessel and earth station such as INMARSAT-B, WWW service, BBS, E-Mail etc. are needed for integrated communication network system.

  • It is necessary for us to undergo trial and error for eliciting the rational requirement of the acquisition of weapon systems, but the M&S is general approach due to costs and risk of the development. In addition to the acquisition of weapon systems, M&S is extensively employed in the analysis and the training of developed weapon systems. The ADD (Agency for Defense Development) has developed DEVS integrated development environment (QUEST) that provides M&S general ground technique composed of simulation model implementation services, simulation result analysis services, and simulation interface services. This paper describes the interface architecture and the implementation of torpedo target detection section interface simulation system using QUEST. The torpedo target detection section interface simulation system is composed of torpedo target detection section which calculates a result of target detection and the QUEST scenario generator which provides simulation scenario for performance test of the torpedo target detection section. The interface architecture of torpedo target detection section interface simulation system is designed to verify the interface and performance of the torpedo target detection section by linking with the QUEST scenario generator.

  • This paper presents an interface configuration between Access Point(AP) and Radio Over Fiber (ROF) transceiver for the wireless internet system.   • As international market pressures increase, product life cycles are becoming shorter at same time requirements for productivity and flexibility are becoming higher. Major improvement in robot programming user interface is central to increasing productivity and flexibility for automatic manufacturing environments. New computer technologies have the potential to accomplish this improvement. In this study we have developed a system which proves that interactive computer graphics and geometric modeling have matured to the point where their artful application into an integrated system can rsult in radically new and powerful user interface for robot programming. With the graphic user interface environment the system efficiently utilizes the existing CAD data and gemetric modeling techniques for off-line programming and simulations. Also the system successfully generates robot control programs performing the desired tasks given through off-line programming.
