  • This paper aims to quantitatively evaluate concrete quality factors according to the application of thermal insulated gang form. As a result of the experiment, it was found that the amount of calcium hydroxide produced increased in the insulated gang form than in the general gang form, and the thicker the insulation of the insulated gang form, the greater the amount of calcium hydroxide produced.

  • In this study, the experimental study on Thermal Performance of Insulated Forms with Different Insulating Methods at Low Temperature. For this study, placing insulated plywood based form between two constant temperature chamber that maintaining 10℃, decrease temperature of one chamber to -10℃ and -20℃. Each of steps, maintaining period of temperature was 1 hour. After placing the form, measure temperature of opposite side of the insulated form. As a result of experiment, temperature difference of rigid urethane was lowest.

A Study on the Energy Consumption Cost in the Winter and Calorific Value by Insulated Gang-form (단열갱폼 적용에 따른 동절기 보양비 사용량 및 발열량 검토에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper aims to examine the insulation performance of insulated gang form by changing the energy (power) consumption and concrete calorific value to assist in concrete protection in cold weather. According to the test results, the general gang form will generate three times the energy (power) consumption for 12 hours after the concrete is poured. In contrast, insulated gang foam consumed no energy (power) for 21 hours after pouring. The final power consumption was 3.7 times higher than that of the general gang form, confirming the improved performance of insulated gang form with regard to energy (power) consumption. The calorific value examination shows that the calorific value changes significantly according to the change of outside temperature after concrete placement in the case of the general gang form. However, in the case of the insulated gang form, only a slight heat loss occurred in the part of the frame, and it showed a constant heating pattern from the concrete casting to the demolding of the mold.

Each of steps, maintaining period of temperature was 1 hour. After placing the insulated form, measure temperature of outside if insulated form. As a result of experiment, temperature difference of Fumed Silica Vacuum insulation was lowest.

  • This paper examines the efficiency of the application of conventional and insulated gang forms for curing and protection of concrete by comparing the amount of electric energy required therefor. In addition, a thermal vision camera was used to identify heat loss from surfaces of the gang forms after each placement of concrete. Experimental results, show that the heat loss at the submerged temperature was large at the submerged surface due to the large calorific value at the surface of the mold. The insulated gang form had some heat loss in the horizontal bars. In the case of adiabatic reforming, the pattern shows a constant calorific value over time. In conclusion, the insulation performance is better than that of general gang form.

Application of Joint Electro-Chemical Detection for Gas Insulated Switchgear Fault Diagnosis

  • The integrity of the gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is vital to the safety of an entire power grid. However, there are some limitations on the techniques of detecting and diagnosing partial discharge (PD) induced by insulation defects in GIS. This paper proposes a joint electro-chemical detection method to resolve the problems of incomplete PD data source and also investigates a new unique fault diagnosis method to enhance the reliability of data processing. By employing ultra-high frequency method for online monitoring and the chemical method for detecting SF6 decomposition offline, the acquired data can form a more complete interpretation of PD signals. By utilizing DS evidence theory, the diagnostic results with tests on the four typical defects show the validity of the new fault diagnosis system. With higher accuracy and lower computation cost, the present research provides a promising way to make a more accurate decision in practical application.

  • This study is to propose a curing method for a concrete wall structure under severe cold climate. The curing methods of using heated cable, heated panel and insulated form were applied. Results showed that the concrete cured by the heated cable resulted in the highest temperature history and the highest strength development at 28 days. Further, it is believed that the curing methods of the heated panel and insulated form are also recommendable for the resistance of the early frost damage on the concrete in practice.
