  • What is the role of right and left-brain in creative thinking? The current study is to address this question. Two empirical studies were performed to answer the question. First one is regarding the divergent thinking and right-brain connection. Second one is regrading the convergent thinking and left-brain connection. Empirical study showed that both of divergent and convergent thinking were asymmetrically related to creativity. Divergent thinking was connected to right-brain and convergent thinking was connected to left brain.

  • Purpose: This study is aimed to analyze and clarify the ambiguous concept of insight. Method: This study used the process of Walker & Avant's concept analysis. Results: Insight can be defined in terms of its attributes as follows: Insight 1) comes as a release to the tension of inquiry, (2) is the outcome of the process to discover the overall structure of the problem situation and psychologically restructurize it, (3) comes suddenly and unexpectedly, (4) is to clearly perceive the solution of the abstract problem, and (5) promotes obtaining another new insight. The antecedents of insight include inquiry that can not be resolved easily and also a state where basic knowledge related to the inquiry can be utilized. The consequence of the insight is (1) a new judgement is made, (2) the problem is solved, (3) previous insight is retained and transferred, and it also facilitates the generation of fresh insight, and (4) it passes into the habitual texture of one's mind. Conclusion: Nurse educators need to facilitate nursing students and nurses to accumulate systematically, various information that can become the basis of insight and provide them with an opportunity to experience a variety of problems. In addition, it is important to provide questions to learners as an education strategy to allow them to gain insight into problem solving. From now on, insight needs to be studied in conjunction with critical thinking and questioning in order to enhance nurses' ability to resolve problems.

  • Recently more emphasis geographical thinking is high order thinking. Improving students' geographical thinking should ensure that geographical skills are used when developing teaching-Loaming activities. Much have been written about importance of geographical thinking, but less research have been geographical skills. As such, this study is to focus on the thinking skills of National Curriculum in England and strategy of thinking through geography(TTC). TTG is the strategy with teaching thinking as a teaching style. Main concern of TTG is not with geography, it is with students' teaming and that is difference. Thus, this study provide insight into improving contents and method of teaching thinking in geography education.

  • The innovative designer and structural engineer, Cecil Balmond is co-representative of Ove Arup and has been co-worked with world-famous architects and has been influenced so much on architectural thinking. These days he extended his career as an architect. Moreover, he has been noticed through a few publishing by his own architectural thinking. He is describing the World with his unique insight based on structural perspectives, which have much common grounds with that of Deulezian philosophy. It is especially valuable to study the relationship between his thinking of Interior-Exterior Ring and Deleuzian thinking of Virtual Circulation for understanding more clearly about structural and compositional principle how world is composed of. The Ring is circulationg from interior to exterior which is similar with Deleuzian concept that the Smooth and the Striated is circulationg mutually. Seamless flight line would be ceaseless creative virtual process to actuality.

  • Human being can be defined in several ways. These are biological, psychological, social and religious, ethical and philosophical aspects. The first two viewpoints refer to the intrapersonal aspects and the last two viewpoints deal with the interpersonal aspects. In every aspect, introspection is very much important to understand him or herself and other person. In this paper, the author summarized the instruction from the oriental old classic books. By doing this process, the author suggested three ways to introspect himself:1) We have to read the old classic books on Wisdom and follow the teachings in those books. 2) Self-analysis may be one way to introspect him or herself. It is to understand his emotional response by way of thinking(reasoning). By repeating this process, affect and thinking can achieve harmony and balance. 3) Training analysis may help to introspect oneself. Qualified analysts may be of help. In order to understand the psychological aspect of patients, the psychiatrists should get insight into his own mind. In this aspect, introspection is the single most important factor in achieving insight.

  • For three years, from 2014 to 2016, in dental history class, 263 3rd grade students, attending postgraduate dental school had reviewed current problems of the dentistry and dental care system by adopting historical thinking, in forms of essays, editorials, and papers, The purpose of this study is to know whether writing has educational benefits on students. Analysis of the writings and Student course evaluation showed that it is beneficial. All of the students agreed on submitting a qualitative study project instead of taking midterms on 2016. The approval ratio has increased over the years, on 2014 being 82%, on 2015 being 98%, on 2016 being 100%. For that reason, it is not an assertion to deduce that the students have experienced benefits while developing their genuine thoughts on the current status or problems, exploring what their role is, and what they will face. The chronological thinking had been used throughout the researches to identify what Dentistry and Dentist is. Dentistry have encompassed knowledges of natural sciences, humanities and other fields when needed to perfect itself. In doing so, Dentist achieved independence from doctor or other cooperatives. Research on Korean Dental care system has involved in historical thinking, including historical analysis, inquisition, and historical imagination, insight. etc. If the in-depth evaluation consisting of history and writing is sustained, it would be very effective teaching method.

  • The researchers developed the teaching-learning materials for 9th grade mathematically gifted students in terms of the hypothesis that the students would have opportunity for problem solving and develop various mathematical thinking through the mathematical modeling lessons. The researchers analyzed what mathematical thinking abilities were shown on each stage of modeling process through the application of the materials. Organization of information ability appears in the real-world exploratory stage. Intuition insight ability, spatialization/visualization ability, mathematical reasoning ability and reflective thinking ability appears in the pre-mathematical model development stage. Mathematical abstraction ability, spatialization/visualization ability, mathematical reasoning ability and reflective thinking ability appears in the mathematical model development stage. Generalization and application ability and reflective thinking ability appears in the model application stage. The developed modeling assignments have provided the opportunities for mathematically-gifted students' mathematical thinking ability to develop and expand.

  • Computational thinking is an ability to resolve problems that may be applied to the various real world problems and is regarded as the core of computer science. Computational thinking may be improved through experiences of analyzing problems and of selecting, applying, and modeling strategies appropriate for problem-solving. In order to enhance computational thinking of learners, it is important to provide experiences of solving various problems. This study designed puzzle based learning in order to educate learners principles of problem solving, let them have experiences of interest and insight, and provide them with problem solving experiences. The puzzle questions used for learning were classified into six types - constraints, optimization, probability, statistics, pattern recognition, and strategies. These questions were applied to Informatics gifted elementary students and, after their education, their computational thinking and problem solving inventory significantly improved.
