A Study of Semiconductor Process Simulator with User Friendly Framework (사용자 친숙형 반도체 공정 시뮬레이터의 구성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we modeling the oxidation, diffusion, and ion-implantation for semiconductor process simulation, and construct the integrated framework for efficient execution and continuous process simulation. For oxidation process, to predict the accurate LOCOS shape and stress distributions, stress-dependent viscous model was performed using SVP algorithm. For diffusion process, predeposition and OED simulation was performed using point defect theory. For ion implantation, Monte-Carlo method based on TRIM simulation was performed with various process conditions. For input to each unit process, we used the dialog boxes which are windows application's standards. This dialog box allows us to verify and minimize input error at input steps. Using the combination of compiler's function and windows's API function, simulation was done with small memory size.

A Novel Soft Computing Technique for the Shortcoming of the Polynomial Neural Network

  • In this paper, we introduce a new soft computing technique that dwells on the ideas of combining fuzzy rules in a fuzzy system with polynomial neural networks (PNN). The PNN is a flexible neural architecture whose structure is developed through the modeling process. Unfortunately, the PNN has a fatal drawback in that it cannot be constructed for nonlinear systems with only a small amount of input variables. To overcome this limitation in the conventional PNN, we employed one of three principal soft computing components such as a fuzzy system. As such, a space of input variables is partitioned into several subspaces by the fuzzy system and these subspaces are utilized as new input variables to the PNN architecture. The proposed soft computing technique is achieved by merging the fuzzy system and the PNN into one unified framework. As a result, we can find a workable synergistic environment and the main characteristics of the two modeling techniques are harmonized. Thus, the proposed method alleviates the problems of PNN while providing superb performance. Identification results of the three-input nonlinear static function and nonlinear system with two inputs will be demonstrated to demonstrate the performance of the proposed approach.

  • This paper studies the problem of approximating commensurate input delay sustems by finite dimensional systems based on the Hankel singular values. I is shown that the Gankel singular values are solutions a trancendental equation and the Hankel singular vectors are obtained form the kernel of the matrix. The computaioin is carried out in state spae framework. Once singular values and vectors are calcualted, finite dimensional approximated systems are constructed using stadnard linear system computational tools. An example is included.

  • An alternative approach to the design of application-driven fuzzy systems is proposed. A broad class of fuzzy systems applications requires a certain fuzzy partition of the input space while it demands for simple numerical quantities. For this class, a dedicated fuzzy system archictecture is presented and a design strategy is proposed. Both the single-input/single-output and multi-input/multi-output cases are considered. Numerical analysis are complete illustrating several aspects of the proposed framework.

Interaction Design Framework for Idea Generation of Smart Products (스마트 제품 아이디어 발상을 위한 인터랙션 디자인 프레임웍 제안)

  • With the development of IT technology, various smart products and services have been spread in our daily life, providing users with convenience and emotional satisfaction. Particularly, input and output technologies, sensor technologies, and intelligent system technologies have offered new opportunities for diverse interaction patterns and new user experiences. This research started from the interest in the idea generation of product designers who need to combine various technological aspects with users' needs. The goal of this research is to propose an interaction design framework which can be used in an idea generation stage. To do so, first, the concept and characteristics of smart products were studied through literature reviews, and the interaction technologies, including input/output modality and context-aware technologies, were also investigated. Then, the frameworks that have been proposed in the deisgn fields were reviewed. This paper finally proposed the interaction design framework and explained its application to the idea generation, using several case studies. The proposed framework consists of four categories: product components, context-awareness elements, information input elements, and feedback output elements. Each of these are divided into several sub-categories, focused on users' needs. Sub-categories includes some elements of interaction, and each of the elements is explained with an existing smart product/system. The paper also describes how the proposed framework would be used in the idea generation process, using some design ideation examples. In the future study, more various concept ideas will be proposed through some elaborated case studies, and the framework is expected to be verified in terms of its possibility as an idea generation tool.

  • Developers can reuse not only class code but also wide range of knowledge on domain by reusing framework. Existing Object-Oriented Methodology and Catalysis Methodology were presented when redefining component in the course of redesigning framework. However, existing methodologies have weakness that entire process is waterfall mode or design of interface lays too much stress on implementation stage. So, this thesis will present Component-Oriented Methodology for the reuse of framework, and construct the environment for framework and domain development. That is, domain is analyzed by input of domain knowledge on real world to create software based on component, and hotspot is identified through analyzed information, and refactoring by putting additional information on users and developers. After that, I will create domain framework and application framework depending on domain. In this Component-Oriented Methodology, information is searched, understood and extracted or composite through component library storage internally. Then this information is classified into the information on component, and used as additional information in redesigning. With this, developer can obtain reusability, easiness and portability by constructing infrastructure environment that allows to register, update and delete component through Component Management System(CMS) under he development environment which can be easily applied to his own application using framework component, in this thesis, CoRBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) environment.

A Game Framework Development for Smart TV (스마트 TV용 게임 프레임워크 개발)

  • Smart TV has been the most popular communication device since 2010. It is the multi-functional device conjugated a variety of features such as Apps, Web surfing, viewing VOD and so on. However, the contents and development tools for smart TV are still relatively small and research for game contents development tools is also insufficient. In this study, we are to design and develop a framework for developers to make Smart TV game contents easily. The STGF (Smart TV Game Framework) we developed is made up of 3 managers such as input manager, screen data process manager, and game status process manager. We verified the usefulness of STGF through developing "Pentomiro" App launched commercially in 2013. With STGF development time would be expected to be reduced, because we spend little time in basic development steps such as input, output, and data processing and error correction processing.

Energy-efficient semi-supervised learning framework for subchannel allocation in non-orthogonal multiple access systems

  • Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is considered a key candidate technology for next-generation wireless communication systems due to its high spectral efficiency and massive connectivity. Incorporating the concepts of multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) into NOMA can further improve the system efficiency, but the hardware complexity increases. This study develops an energy-efficient (EE) subchannel assignment framework for MIMO-NOMA systems under the quality-of-service and interference constraints. This framework handles an energy-efficient co-training-based semi-supervised learning (EE-CSL) algorithm, which utilizes a small portion of existing labeled data generated by numerical iterative algorithms for training. To improve the learning performance of the proposed EE-CSL, initial assignment is performed by a many-to-one matching (MOM) algorithm. The MOM algorithm helps achieve a low complex solution. Simulation results illustrate that a lower computational complexity of the EE-CSL algorithm helps significantly minimize the energy consumption in a network. Furthermore, the sum rate of NOMA outperforms conventional orthogonal multiple access.

  • This study was performed to develop the conceptual framework of the nursing productivity. The study efforts were made (1) to define the concept the nursing productivity, (2) to identify the elements of the productivity, and (3) to determine the relationship among the elements. With the aim, the study employed a descriptive analysis by way of reviewing various references related w the subject. The nursing productivity consists of such elements as the nursing efficiency and Lhe nursing effectiveness which are complememary Lo each other. The nursing efficiency is the quantative input/output ratio, while the nursing effectiveness represents the integrated outcome of sch sub-elements as the degree of accomplishing nursing goals, the quality of nursing service, consumer's satisfaction, and the degree of improvement of nurse's attitude toward the quality care. The nursing prodiccivity can be estimated by summing up the nursing efficiency and the effectiveness. By employing the system theory model, the elements of the nursing producTivity consist of three elements; the input, the process, and the output. By the process elements, the system inputs are transformed to the system outputs nursing efficiency and nursing effecitveness which are input 1.0 the system, in turn, through feedback mechanism(Figure 4).

  • This paper presents an hour-ahead System Marginal Price (SMP) forecasting framework based on a neural network. Recently, the deregulation in power industries has impacted on the power system operational problems. The bidding strategy of market participants in energy market is highly dependent on the short-term price levels. Therefore, short-term SMP forecasting is a very important issue to market participants to maximize their profits. and to market operator who may wish to operate the electricity market in a stable sense. The proposed hybrid neural network is composed of tow parts. First part of this scheme is pattern classification to input data using Kohonen Self-Organizing Map (SOM) and the second part is SMP forecasting using back-propagation neural network that has three layers. This paper compares the forecasting results using classified input data and unclassified input data. The proposed technique is trained, validated and tested with historical date of Korea Power Exchange (KPX) in 2002.
