모바일 쇼핑몰의 지각된 정보품질이 스마트폰 사용자의 쇼핑몰 사용의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Perceived Information Quality of Mobile Shopping Malls on Smartphone Users' Intention to Use the Shopping Malls)

  • There has been an upward trend in smartphone sales in Korea as well as the rest of the world. Even though smartphones are now at the peak of their popularity, the fact that they are somewhat limited in terms of their usages for certain purposes is unexpected. Precisely, compared to PC, smartphones typically have smaller display screens with a lower resolution, which make them difficult to use in general. For instance, when customers search the information about products in mobile shopping malls, due to the smaller screen with a low resolution smartphone users may realize that it is not easy and convenient not only to search the information, but also to read the information they found in the shopping malls. This restriction could become one of reasons that lowers the perceived quality of information in the shopping malls, which in turn leads to the reluctance to use the shopping malls. A comprehensive information systems (IS) literature review found that there has been little empirical evidence on perceived information quality that affects smartphone users' intention to use mobile shopping malls. The purposes of this study is to examine 1) the effects of perceived information quality on smartphone users' intention to use mobile shopping malls and 2) the relationships among behavioral beliefs in the middle of independent and dependent variables, such as information satisfaction, perceived usefulness, and customers' attitude toward mobile shopping. A survey was conducted in March 2012. College students and practitioners took participated in the survey. Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) was used for all data analysis. The results found that there is a strong relationship between perceived information quality and smartphone users' intention to use mobile shopping malls. In addition, this study also showed that there are strong relationships among behavioral beliefs. Further research is expected to validate the findings of this study and apply them in specific contexts.

  • It has been found that users' characteristics are important variables that explain information systems adoption. These user groups, which are called COIs (Community Of Interests), might show different behaviors to each other to the same information system. We study differences in MDM (master data management) system adoption between military users and SI developers using TAM (Technology Acceptance Model). In case of military users, the perceived usefulness of an MDM system does not have impacts on intention to use an MDM system. Only the ease of use of an MDM system has impacts on intention to use an MDM system. However, in case of SI developers, both the perceived usefulness and the ease of use of an MDM system have impacts on intention to use an MDM system, which are similar to findings in previous studies. These results might be interpreted that users do not pay much attention to the usefulness in adopting a new information system in a centralized organization. They are obligated to use an information system whether it is useful or not. Thus the ease of use has more impacts on users than the usefulness.

  • This study takes a quantitative approach to the influence of TTF (Task-Technology Fit) on the individual's use and performance of GSS (Group Support Systems), while traditional studies on TTF have taken the experimental approach to explore the characteristic fit between diverse tasks and technologies. We have the following two research inquires: Are the IS use and performance maximized when information technologies are provided by the exact amount of demand?; and, Does TTF at the high level between task and IT produce better IS use (or performance) than at the low level? To investigate these issues, we use the polynomial regression analysis and response surface methodology of Edwards (1993) instead of traditional direct measure of TTF. This method measures the degree of desired and actual level of information technologies in conducting tasks, and traces the dynamic changes of dependent variables (IS use and performance) according to the variances of each independent variable. Our results conclude that user's IS use and performance are maximized when information technologies are actually provided by no more or less than the desired level. We also found that TTF at the high level promotes better IS use and performance than TTF at the low level.

  • 이 논문은 정보이용교육을 위해 정보처리학습모형을 사용할 것을 추천하고 있다. 정보처리학습모형은 심리적 도구로서 적절히 사용하면 학생들의 자기주도적, 자율적 학습, 창의성 함양, 학력제고를 도모할 수 있고 학생들의 정보이용능력을 미국학교도서관 협회와 교육공학회에서 제정한 정보이용능력기준에 미치도록 훈련하는 것이 쉽다고 주장한다. 이러한 주장은 정보처리학습모형을 사용할 때 사용하는 정보기술내역과 정보이용능력기준을 대비시킴으로서 규명하고 있다.

Assessing the Success rate of e-Learning Systems Aadoption in Saudi Higher Education Institutions during COVID-19 Pandemic: Student Perspective

  • In response to the significant COVID-19 outbreak, countries have enforced the use of E-learning systems as an alternative to traditional learning; to contain the virus and minimize the infection rate while maintaining the continuity of the learning experience. However, the effective adoption of E-learning systems requires a well-understanding of critical factors, especially in times of crisis. In this regard, this study intends to assess the success of the E-learning system adoption by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) during the crisis of COVID-19 by utilizing the Information Systems Success (ISS) model. This study's adopted model consists of nine interdependent dimensions, namely: Technical System Quality, Information Quality, Service Quality, Learner Quality, Perceived Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness, System Use, Intention to Use, and System Success. An electronic survey was distributed among higher education students from different universities in Saudi Arabia to explore each model's dimension. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) has been applied via SmartPLS software to test the causal relationships between dimensions. This study's main results revealed that students' Service Quality, Learner Quality, and the Intention to Use by students are essential drives for E-learning System Use during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the Intention to Use the system is significantly influenced by Perceived Satisfaction and Perceived Usefulness dimensions. Further, Perceived Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness, and System Use are interdependent, and all three have a significant positive impact on E-learning System Success.

  • This study aimed to analyze the impact of perceived usefulness, ease of use, and satisfaction with ChatGPT on the intention to use it. Data were collected through an online survey, and the results showed differences in perceived usefulness, ease of use, and intention to use according to the demographic characteristics of the research subjects. Furthermore, a multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the impact of ChatGPT's usability, ease of use, and satisfaction on the intention to use. The results indicated statistically significant differences in perceived usefulness, ease of use, and intention to use ChatGPT between students in different academic years. In addition, perceived usefulness, ease of use, and satisfaction with ChatGPT showed a significant positive influence on the intention to use it. This study is significant as it analyzes the intention to use ChatGPT, considering the role of generative AI in digital education and innovative teaching methods in the educational context.

  • As having analyzed an advance research that had looked into how characteristics of information system affect use and success of the concerned system, the study determined that system quality, information quality and service quality are the fundamental requirements for a good accounting information system. In addition, based on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use that have been selected as major variables related to information system acceptance proposed by Davis[10], the study conducted an empirical analysis on how such factors would influence performance of the accounting information system. According to the results from the analysis, the system quality one of the characteristics of the accounting information system was observed to have a significant influence on the perceived ease of use while both the information quality and the service quality would positively affect the perceived usefulness. Not only that, the perceived ease of use and the perceived usefulness were confirmed to be a significant factor to the performance, and with those results, all the theses of the study have been selected. As proved even with the information system success model, the system quality, the information quality and the service quality are definitely the most necessary elements for business management, and it also turned out that those elements would play an important role in several stages of the information system.

  • 본 연구는 자연과학과 사회과학의 서로 다른 이용집단을 대상으로 이들의 정보이용실태를 파악하여 비교 분석하였으며, 이들의 연구활동에 필요한 정보추구과정에 나타나는 현실적 특성들이 두 집단 간에 어떠한 유의한 차이를 보이는지를 가설을 토대로 하여 규명하였다. 국내 주요 자연과학, 사회과학 정보서비스기관 7곳을 이용하고 있는 217명의 연구자와 학자들을 표본집단으로 하여 29개 항목의 질문지를 배포, 자료를 수집하였으며, 이를 기초로 하여 두 집단 간의 정보이용 특성과 차이점을 비교 분석하였다.

A Study on the Strategy of Resolving Impediments to Use of Digital Resources : The Case of Korean Public Libraries

  • In this study, users' perceptions and concerns about digital information resources were investigated, focusing on impediments to the use of digital resources, to devise measures for improvement by identifying factors that hinder the use of digital information resources. To achieve the purpose of the study, the research identifies the inconvenien ce factors and establishes the user inconvenience list based on prior research and the current status survey. Based on the derived list, a survey was conducted on users of public libraries. Through this study, it was found that the use of digital information resources can be enhanced by improving the internal library system. Specifically, it refers to improving search performance and accessibility of digital data, providing one-stop services for digital information resources through the operation of an integrated data management system, conducting customized user education, and establishing a digital information resource preservation system, e.g. web archiving. Also, improving the external environment and system, such as contracting with more libraries for digitized data use agreements, strengthening support, unifying the names and classifications of digital information resources, and simplifying the procedure for using digital information resources, is of great importance.

ATCIS 성능개량체계 만족 및 지속사용 의도에 미치는 영향요인 (A Study on the Factors Affecting the User Satisfaction and Continuous Use Intention of the Improved Army Tactical Command Information System)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the user satisfaction and continuous use intention of the improved ATCIS in the Korean Army. Design/methodology/approach Based on the various theories in relation to IT continuance, user satisfaction was identified as the main factor with regard to the continuous use intention of the improved ATCIS. In addition, computer self-efficacy, education-training, and system quality were hypothesized as antecedent variables to user satisfaction, and information security stress was set as a moderating variable for these relationships. Findings Survey results show that computer self-efficacy, education and training, and system quality had a positive effect on user satisfaction, and information security stress was found to moderate these relationships. The effects of computer self-efficacy and education-training on user satisfaction were higher in the group with low information security stress. However, the relationship between system quality and user satisfaction was higher in the group with high information security stress. User satisfaction is found to have a positive effect on the continuous use intention even with habit considered as a control variable.
