This study relates to measure impact of green technology on industry sector by uses of industry greening indices. For this study, we performed patent trend analysis, technology-industry concordance analysis, and designed some industry greening indices. Through the results of this research, we found out the impact of Korean high priority green technologies on respective industries, and consequently identified which industries play an important role in the era of green innovation. IT related industries would catch somewhat weak attention in green technology policy, though they manufacture and use plenty of patents at present. Meanwhile, Energy related industry, such as battery industry would catch strong attention in green innovation, showed very high value of industry greening indices. In order to design proper R&D strategy for green technologies, understanding industry and market structure that can adapt and promote green technology innovation is important. In this context, this study could be an effective and systematic tool for assisting green innovation policy. Also, these indices developed are not limited to the case of green technology, other technologies can be used universally as a input for analysis.
This study focused on the Technology export of Korea SMEs. Therefore this study made an empirical analysis for investigating the competitiveness of technology export in Korea SMEs and using panel data 2003-2011 of technology trade data between 72 Countries. In particular, the study deduced the correlation between technology export in Korea SMEs using the variables of Gross Domestic Expenditure on R&D and Per capita GDP, distance, population, free-trade index, firm R&D against industry value added of country, Patent grants by country to USA fixed effect model in panel linear regression model. It is found that the Technology export of Korea SMEs made a significant effect on the per-GDP, Gross Domestic Expenditure on R&D. The results suggest that the study should use technology gap variables and the strategy for activating the Technology export of Korea SMEs should be made for future works.
The purpose of research is to reveal the effect of innovation to enterprises' economic performance. The kind of this study has begun since 1960s and lively progressed then. The fmal theoretical result of the effect of innovation to the performance came positive in compare to the mixed results came out in empirical analysis. There are several reason why empirical results are different to the theoretical results. However the major factor is that of using imperfect statistics and inappropriateness of analysis method. This study used a population (1990~2008) provided from Korean Intellectual Property Office, KIPO for patent and also used a population (1990~2008) provided from Korea Investors Service, KIS for research and development. The contribution of this study is enormous statistical analysis. This study used principal component analysis made innovativeness index for appropriate index sampling, and made effort to minimize the error by using appropriate quantile regression for both to panel analysis and rapidly developed company analysis. Dividing the final results into two parts, the growth and the profit, the effect of technological innovation to the firm's growth is not significant to the panel analysis but heavily significant to the upper 10% of high growth firm. By classifying large company and small and medium enterprise, it is significant to upper 10% of high growth firm for large company and generally significant to small and medium enterprise. But for both lower 10% of low growth firms and 25% of low ranking firms are negatively effected, and for high growth firms larger than the medians are positively effected. Especially for upper 10% of high growth firms are mostly effected. It is more effective to the profitability than the growth. The effect to the profit for every enterprises are not significant, but effected significant to the larger enterprises than 25% of low ranking enterprises especially most effective to the upper 10% of high-profit enterprises. The analysis for the large company, it was significant and positively effected to the upper 10% of high profit enterprises and 25% of low ranking enterprises, but the negatively effected for the low-profit enterprises. For the small and medium enterprises, it is negatively effected for both 10% of low ranking enterprises and 25% of low ranking enterprises. However it is positively effective and significant for the high ranking enterprises than median, especially for those high growth firms. It is meaningful to recognize significancy by quantile, but more implicative result is to finding more effectiveness to the small and medium enterprises than to the large company.
ICT sector has been made a great deal of achievements for past 20 or more years in the aspects of the industrial promotion and the efficiency improvement under the strong leadership by the government for the informatization and still leads the Korean industries. However, the previous studies are mostly on how the quantitative growth of patents impacts a company's management achievements while being insufficient on the qualitative level. In this study, an analysis is attempted on the impact from the qualitative level of patents held by a ICT company leading Korean industry to its management achievements. In other words, if the concentration of technological innovation activities, a scale to measure the qualitative level of possessed patents is influential to the growth and the profit of a company is analyzed. The analysis result shows that the current time technological superiority index, RTA and the concentration index, CRn of the technological innovation activities significantly impact to the growth and the profit of company. This study demonstrates the positive impact from a highly qualitative level of patents to the growth and the profit of a company in ICT sector in the current circumstance of insufficient researches on the qualitative level of patents. Therefore, this study is expected to present a new start point for the future studies.
It is important to preempt new technology because the technology competition is getting much tougher. Stakeholders conduct exploration activities continuously for new technology preoccupancy at the right time. Gartner's Hype Cycle has significant implications for stakeholders. The Hype Cycle is a expectation graph for new technologies which is combining the technology life cycle (S-curve) with the Hype Level. Stakeholders such as R&D investor, CTO(Chef of Technology Officer) and technical personnel are very interested in Gartner's Hype Cycle for new technologies. Because high expectation for new technologies can bring opportunities to maintain investment by securing the legitimacy of R&D investment. However, contrary to the high interest of the industry, the preceding researches faced with limitations aspect of empirical method and source data(news, academic papers, search traffic, patent etc.). In this study, we focused on two research questions. The first research question was 'Is there a difference in the characteristics of the network structure at each stage of the hype cycle?'. To confirm the first research question, the structural characteristics of each stage were confirmed through the component cohesion size. The second research question is 'Is there a pattern of diffusion at each stage of the hype cycle?'. This research question was to be solved through centralization index and network density. The centralization index is a concept of variance, and a higher centralization index means that a small number of nodes are centered in the network. Concentration of a small number of nodes means a star network structure. In the network structure, the star network structure is a centralized structure and shows better diffusion performance than a decentralized network (circle structure). Because the nodes which are the center of information transfer can judge useful information and deliver it to other nodes the fastest. So we confirmed the out-degree centralization index and in-degree centralization index for each stage. For this purpose, we confirmed the structural features of the community and the expectation diffusion patterns using Social Network Serice(SNS) data in 'Gartner Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2021'. Twitter data for 30 technologies (excluding four technologies) listed in 'Gartner Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2021' were analyzed. Analysis was performed using R program (4.1.1 ver) and Cyram Netminer. From October 31, 2021 to November 9, 2021, 6,766 tweets were searched through the Twitter API, and converting the relationship user's tweet(Source) and user's retweets (Target). As a result, 4,124 edgelists were analyzed. As a reult of the study, we confirmed the structural features and diffusion patterns through analyze the component cohesion size and degree centralization and density. Through this study, we confirmed that the groups of each stage increased number of components as time passed and the density decreased. Also 'Innovation Trigger' which is a group interested in new technologies as a early adopter in the innovation diffusion theory had high out-degree centralization index and the others had higher in-degree centralization index than out-degree. It can be inferred that 'Innovation Trigger' group has the biggest influence, and the diffusion will gradually slow down from the subsequent groups. In this study, network analysis was conducted using social network service data unlike methods of the precedent researches. This is significant in that it provided an idea to expand the method of analysis when analyzing Gartner's hype cycle in the future. In addition, the fact that the innovation diffusion theory was applied to the Gartner's hype cycle's stage in artificial intelligence can be evaluated positively because the Gartner hype cycle has been repeatedly discussed as a theoretical weakness. Also it is expected that this study will provide a new perspective on decision-making on technology investment to stakeholdes.
Objectives: This study was performed to elicit the effectiveness of a herbal formula, Kamisoyo-san (Jiaweixiaoyaosan) on enhancing ovarian function in infertile woman with ovarian dysfunction. Methods: 28 patients who initially visited between November 2006 and February 2009 and were administered Kamisoyo-san until May 2009 were retrospectively evaluated for their ovarian function by means of basal FSH (b-FSH), menstrual cycle, body mass index (BMI), and body fat ratio. To identify the major factor of improving ovarian function, 28 patients were classified into two groups by criteria of patent factors, such as pre-administration b-FSH, patient age, and treatment duration, respectively. Two groups were compared in terms of pregnancy percentage, b-FSH, menstrual cycle, BMI, and body fat ratio. Results: Post-administration b-FSH significantly decreased in comparison with pre-administration (p=0.004). The higher group (b-FSH $\geq$ 25mIU/mL) in pre-administration b-FSH was more effective in decrease of post-administration b-FSH than the lower one (10mIU/mL < b-FSH < 25mIU/mL). Conclusion: Kamisoyo-san may have a therapeutic effect on the infertility of child bearing period woman with ovarian dysfunction.
Objectives: By grasping trends in research, technology, and general characteristics of learning support tools, this study was conducted to present a model for research on Korean Medicine (KM) to make use of information technology to support teaching and learning. The purpose is to improve the future clinical competence of medical personnel, which is directly linked to national health. Methods: With papers and patents published up to 2011 as the objects, 438 papers were extracted from "Web of Science" and 313 patents were extracted from the WIPS database (DB). Descriptive analysis and network analysis were conducted on the annual developments, academic journals, and research fields of the papers, patents searched were subjected to quantitative analysis per application year, nation, and technology, and an activity index (AI) was calculated. Results: First, research on medical learning support tools has continued to increase and is active in the fields of computer engineering, education research, and surgery. Second, the largest number of patent applications on medical learning support tools were made in the United States, South Korea, and Japan in this order, and the securement of remediation technology-centered patents, rather than basic/essential patents, seemed possible. Third, when the results of the analysis of research trends were comprehensively analyzed, international research on e-PBL- and medical simulation-centered medical learning support tools was seen to expand continuously to improve the clinical competence of medical personnel, which is directly linked to national health. Conclusions: The KM learning support tool model proposed in the present study is expected to be applicable to computer-based tests at KM schools and to be able to replace certain functions of national KM doctor license examinations once its problem DB, e-PBL, and TKM simulator have been constructed. This learning support tool will undergo a standardization process in the future.
Bilateral popliteal artery entrapment syndrome is a rare vascular disease, which leads to ischemic claudication as a result of disturbance to the blood flow from the abnormal relationship of the popliteal artery to the gastrocnemius muscle, a fibrous band or the popliteus muscle in the young male population. A 58-years-old male patient, complaining of ischemic claudication, coldness and 3rd toe gangrene of left leg of 1 month's duration was admitted to our institution. His left ankle-brachial index was decreased; therefore, a femoral artery angiography was peformed, which revealed a total occlusion below the distal superficial femoral artery of the left leg. An EKG revealed atrial fibrillation, suggestive of a thromboembolism of the popliteal artery due to atrial fibrillation; therefore, Urokinase thrombolysis was attempted. After the Urokinase thrombolysis, popliteal artery entrapment syndrome was diagnosed, with MRI then performed for an anatomical diagnosis. The popliteal artery entrapment was type 1, where the popliteal artery was displaced medial to the Gastrocnemius head. After complete removal of the popliteal artery aneurysm, interposition was performed with a contra lateral greater saphenous vein graft. A mild right popliteal artery aneurysm still remained, but surgery was not performed. Currently, the patent is surviving, without complications. Herein, the good results obtained for the surgical treatment of a severely affected leg, and the conservative treatment of a mildly affected leg, are reported.
This paper summarizes the results of the government R&D funding for ICT SMEs over the past five years, and compares the differences in R&D performance of the government funding methods (grant and loan). Two major ICT SMEs funding programs were examined, and the data used in the comparison were based on the performance analysis report published by the MSIP (Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning) every year. Considering that the projects' conductors were SMEs and that the R&D stages were in development research, the comparison categories were the number of patents and employment (or jobs) positions created, and commercialization success rate and its sales. Comparative analysis results proved that the SME R&D programs were funded with grants had excellent technological achievements in terms of the number of patent applications and registrations. On the other hand, SME R&D programs that were funded by the government loans had relatively higher economic and social achievements, such as employment effects and commercialization sales. However, it was difficult to come to a comparative conclusion on the category of commercialization success rate between the two programs. As the result, this paper provides suggestions for the direction and policy of the government financial support for ICT SME R&D.

The database for the oriental medicine had been existed in documentation in past times and it has been developed to the database type for random accesses in the information society. However, the aspects of the database are not so diversified and the database for the bio herbal material exists in widened type dictionary style. It is a situation that the database which handles the in-depth raw herbal medicines is not sufficient in its quantity and quality. Korean wild grape is a deciduous plant categorized into the Vitaceae and it was found experimentally that it has various medical effects. It is one of the medical materials with higher potentiality of academic study and commercialization recently because it has a bigger possibility to be applied into diverse industrial fields including the medical product for health, food and beauty. We constituted the cooperative system among the Muju cluster business group for Korean mountain wild grapes, Physiology Laboratory in Kyung Hee University Oriental Medicine and Medical Classics Laboratory in Kyung Hee University Oriental Medicine with a view to focusing on such potentiality and a database for Korean wild grapes was made a touchstone for establishing the in-depth database for the single bio medical materials. First of all, the literatures based on the North East Asia in ancient times had been categorized into the classical literature (Korean literature published by government organization, Korean classical literature, Chinese classical literature and classical literature fro Korean and Chinese oriental medicine) and modern literature (Modern literature for oriental medicine, modern literature for domestic and foreign herbal medicine) to cover the eastern and western research records and writings related to Korean wild grapes and the text-mining work has been performed through the cooperation system with the Medical Classics Laboratory in Kyung Hee University Oriental Medicine. First of all, the data for the experiment and theory for Korean wild grape were collected for the Medline database controlled by the Parliament Library of USA to arrange the domestic and foreign theses with topic for Korean wild grapes and the network hyperlink function and down load function were mounted for self-thesis searching function and active view based on the collected data. The thesis searching function provides various auxiliary functions and the searching is available according to the diverse searching/queries such as the name of sub species of Korean wild grape, the logical intersection index for the active ingredients, efficacy and elements. It was constituted for the researchers who design the Korean wild grape study to design of easier experiment. In addition, the data related to the patents for Korean wild grape which were collected from European Patent Office in response to the commercialization possibility and the system available for searching and view was established in the same viewpoint. Perl was used for the query programming and MS-SQL for database establishment and management in the designing of this database.
