  • Mobile robot has various sensors for describing the external world. The ultrasonic sensor widely applied to the most mobile robot to detect the obstacle and environment owing to low cost, its easy to use. However, ultrasonic sensor has major problems: the uncertainty information of sensor, false readings caused by specular reflection, multi path effect, low angular resolution and sensitivity to changes in temperature and humidity. This paper describes a sensor system for map building of mobile robot. It was made of low cost PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) sensor array and high speed RISC MPU. PSD sensor is cost effective and light weighting but its output signal has many noises. We propose heuristic S/W filter to effectively remove these noises. The developed map building sensor system was equipped on a mobile robot and was compared with ultrasonic sensor through field test.

  • Mobile multi-robot teams are useful in many critical applications such as search and rescue. Explicit communication among robots in such mobile multi-robot teams is useful for the coordination of such teams as well as exchanging data. Since many applications for mobile robots involve scenarios in which communication infrastructure may be damaged or unavailable, mobile robot teams frequently need to communicate with each other via ad hoc networking. In such scenarios, low-overhead and energy-efficient routing protocols for delivering messages among robots are a key requirement. Two important primitives for communication are essential for enabling a wide variety of mobile robot applications. First, unicast communication (between two robots) needs to be provided to enable coordination and data exchange. Second, in many applications, group communication is required for flexible control, organization, and management of the mobile robots. Multicast provides a bandwidth-efficient communication method between a source and a group of robots. In this paper, we first propose and evaluate two unicast routing protocols tailored for use in ad hoc networks formed by mobile multi-robot teams: Mobile robot distance vector (MRDV) and mobile robot source routing (MRSR). Both protocols exploit the unique mobility characteristics of mobile robot networks to perform efficient routing. Our simulation study show that both MRDV and MRSR incur lower overhead while operating in mobile robot networks when compared to traditional mobile ad hoc network routing protocols such as DSR and AODV. We then propose and evaluate an efficient multicast protocol mobile robot mesh multicast (MRMM) for deployment in mobile robot networks. MRMM exploits the fact that mobile robots know what velocity they are instructed to move at and for what distance in building a long lifetime sparse mesh for group communication that is more efficient. Our results show that MRMM provides an efficient group communication mechanism that can potentially be used in many mobile robot application scenarios.

  • Location-based density information of mobile node could be used well in various, new and expanding areas such as location-based services, internet of things, smart grid technologies, and intelligent building. In general, receiving mobile nodes of a wireless mobile node depend on the maximum communication range of transmitting mobile node. In this paper, efficient computing method for mobile node using Delaunay triangulation is proposed, which is irrespective of mobile node's maximum communication range and reflect relative location in a given situation. Proposed method may be good used to find out the density of network constructed by various max communication range devices as Internet of Things. This method suggested in this paper could work well for location-based services, internet of things, smart grid technologies, and intelligent building.

  • Purpose - This study evaluates the effects of e-marketing communication on brand loyalty in the mobile communication market in Kosovo. given that no prior studies of this nature are found. It explores the relationships, between e-marketing communication, brand image and customer satisfaction, and their impact on the brand loyalty. Research design, data, and methodology - The research model of four constructs was developed. The data was collected via online surveys, 423 completed surveys from mobile subscribers were received. To test the relationship between the individual variables and multiple variables with the dependent variable several test were performed including data validity and reliability, bivariate correlation, simple linear and multiple regression analysis using stepwise method. Results - Positive significant effect of e-Marketing communication on brand loyalty, as well its significant effect on both brand image and customer satisfaction, which subsequently have significant impact on brand loyalty as it was confirmed by previous studies. Conclusions - The findings confirm that e-Marketing communication is key factor in building well perceived brand image, fostering customer satisfaction, and leading to customer commitment and loyalty towards brands of mobile operators in Kosovo.

  • Purpose: This study explored how Indonesian banks utilize digital marketing communication strategies to optimize their distribution channels, leading to enhanced customer trust and brand loyalty. It examined specific methods such as sponsorships, social media, institutional partnerships, and mobile banking application features as key components of this digital distribution strategy. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: This study employed mixed methods design to assess digital distribution impacts. It involved 385 Jakarta bank customers. The sample size was determined using the Lemeshow formula. Results: The findings indicate that effective digital distribution strategies, including sponsorships, social media engagement, and user-friendly mobile banking applications, significantly enhance customer trust and loyalty. However, overly complex features may negatively impact loyalty. Conclusion: Thisstudy demonstrates a clear connection between the strategic use of digital marketing channels, such as sponsorships, social media, institutional partnerships, and mobile banking features, and the development of customer trust and loyalty. The results provide valuable insights to Indonesian banks in designing digital distribution strategies that prioritize building trust and fostering integrated customer interactions. Tailored digital marketing approachesthat optimize distribution can significantly enhance both trust and loyalty among Indonesian bank customers.

  • Recently, defect management have been considered as one of the major issues for more large-sized and complicated in domestic construction industry. However, the defect management have not been performed systematically because of special manpower, excessive amount of documents, 2D based inspection work, unclear traditional checklists, complicated work process and difficulty in communicating construction information. Therefore, the construction field manager could not performed the quality inspection and defect management work on time as well as the reliability of recorded quality and defect factors was decreased. The primary objective of this study is develop a Construction Defect Management Application CDMA) using a mobile (smartphone). The application can be sharing a huge information and communication technology based on RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification), BIM (Building Information Modeling) which enables field mangers to efficiently gather the information of defection in construction on-site.

  • This paper proposes the design of multiband repeater antenna with fire-fighting band for in-building mobile communication. The proposed antenna is composed of a center monopole and 4 parasitic elements on a circular plate. In order to realize good reflection coefficients at the multiband, mutual coupling between 4 parasitic elements and center monopole antenna is considered. The important parameters such as distance between parasitic element and a center monopole, and each height of a center monopole and 4 parasitic elements are simulated to obtain good antenna characteristics at the multiband. The diameter of 4 parasitic elements and a center monopole was fixed to 10 mm for easy design and manufacturing. The measurement results of reflection coefficients, 2-D patterns and gain agreed well with their simulation ones.

  • Traditionally, simulation method was used to test and evaluate the performance of communication protocol or functional elements for mobile communication service. In this Paper, PCSsim(Personal Communication System Simulator) was realized that can evaluate and review the call process of mobile communication service or to predict its performance by using the object-oriented simulation platform. PCSsim can simulate the base station and mobile host by considering the user's mobility, call generation rate and call duration time. In this paper, based on the simulation, presented the simulation results of hand-off generation ratio according to call generation, user's moving speed and call duration time both in residence area and commercial area, and it was confirmed that the hand-off rates in simulation and actual service environment have similar features. PCSsim can be used in adjusting the characteristics of base station fellowing the dynamic hand-off buffering or the characteristics of user's call in the design stage, and also can be used in building new mobile communication network by reflecting the characteristics of region where the base station is located and the mobility of the user.
