프리코노믹스를 적용한 그린 IT 활성화 전략 (Green IT progressive strategies with Freeconomics)

  • To reduce costs in general process, product quality degradation or lack of services are appeared. To improve these problems, dramatical solution of 'Freeconomics (Free+Economics) are discussed. Freconomics means, producers provide their products and services free of charge but they get customer's interests and reputations. Based on these customer's interests and reputations, producers generate profits with other services or related products. In this paper, we discuss about Green IT strategic plan with the management technique of Freeconomics. Green IT is called as Next-Generation growth engine to develop economy, so every country and industry hopes to develop it. With Freeconomcs, customers could get more quickly and much better use the Green IT products. So it is expected to spread of Green IT with Freeconomics as industry, country and customers are all satisfied.

그린 비즈니스/IT도입시 인식에 따른 실행계획 차이에 대한 탐색적 연구:한국 제조기업을 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study on the Difference between Recognition and Planning of Green Business/IT:Focus on Korean Manufacturing Industry)

  • Recently, Green Business/IT becomes very important for management of company, because there are many new regulations about the environment protection, especially to reduce green house effect. The purpose of this research is to investigate present situation of Korean manufacturing industry about the Introduction of Green Business/IT. For the people who is in charge of the decision whether to Introduce Green Business/IT or not, this paper aim to provide some useful findings. We made a research framework consisting of 5Ps (Philosophy, Partner, Process, Product, Public) from literature review, then we found that almost all of the companies in manufacturing industry prepare for the regulations by introducing and using Green Business/IT concepts. There are some differences between production goods industry and consumer's goods industry. Also we found that there are a lot of relationships with recognition level and planning level. The higher the level of profitability, the lower the level of preparing social responsibility. This means there are two opposite perspectives(profitability, social responsibility). Therefore organizations who are adopting Green Business IT/should strive for harmony of sight.

산업 내 경쟁강도와 가치기반전략에 따른 기업성과 간의 관계 (Relationship between Value Based Strategy and Industry Competition)

  • The Korea government has been pursuing various policies to find a new industrial growth engine based on ICT (Industry and Communication Technology). However, ICT industry recently faces a serious crisis due to a lack of fundamental competitiveness and capital and technological gap with other countries. Accordingly, it is necessary for ICT industry to recognize the rapidly changing competitive business environment and to establish appropriate value-based strategies. This paper analyses factors affecting value-based strategy in the Korean ICT industry using 10 years data set. The result shows that the value-based strategy in the Korean ICT companies has a significant influence on their financial performance. In addition, it is confirmed that the competition level in the industry has a significant moderating effect on this relationship. In addition, when the companies are categorized based on performance, it is confirmed that there is a significant difference in competition level and value-based strategy in each categories. The results of this paper are expected to suggest implications for the effective use of balanced value-based strategies in the ICT industry.

  • The IT outsourcing industry has been widespread for decades since the growth of the system integration industry stagnates and companies need to curtail expenses and improve the quality of IT services. According to previous studies on the success factors of the IT outsourcing, its transition phase is significant because of continuity of business and the handover of knowledge. Since a transition phase consists of several projects, but its goal is different from general projects, it needs special and professional management. Therefore, recent IT outsourcing business starts to introduce PMO (project management offices), of which success strongly depends on the competencies of the PMO. However, there are only few studies on which competencies of the PMO are important. In this paper, we suggest an evaluation model of transition PMO competencies derived using the repertory grid technique and the analytic hierarchy process. Additionally, we compare the differences between the views of several stakeholders on the importance of the competencies.

조선해양 산업에서의 ERP 구축 사례 연구 (A Case Study on ERP Adoption in Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry)

  • As many organizations have adopted and implemented ERP systems, concerns about ERP performance also have increased. Former researches studied the ERP implementation of general large or medium size enterprises but there are not enough studies on ERP systems of a specific industry domain. In this paper, we introduce a case study on ERP adoption methodology of global leading company 'D' in shipbuilding and marine engineering industry. We examined ERP implementation background, method and scope and evaluated ERP performance in perspective of both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative research usually examines ERP performance based on financial statements and qualitative study typically examines organization change or improvement. As a result, ERP implementation in shipbuilding and marine industry can improve quantitative aspects such as cost, human resource and organization performance. As qualitative analysis, business process and tools can be unified and management transparency can be improved by ERP implementation. The result of this paper will be useful guideline for organizations which are considering ERP systems.

SI 사업 계약제도 개선연구 (An Improvement of SI Contracting Laws and Regulations in Korea)

  • Having Efficient Contracting Laws and Regulations is one of the critical success factors for SI (System Integration) industry growth. This paper explores problems in contracting systems for SI business. Two perspectives have been used in this analysis. One is on law itself perspective, the other is on industry growth perspective. A comprehensive survey on contracting practices has been done, and the structure of SI industry has been analysed. Also, characteristics of SI contracting processes have been analysed. A framework for efficient contracting laws and regulations for SI industry has been discussed based on the characteristics of SI business and SI industry. Future research will be needed to expand the current framework and to examine the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

소프트웨어 산업에서 중소기업 지원정책 연구 (A Study on Supporting Policies for Small/Medium Business in Software Industry)

  • Relentless competition and price cutting race make small/medium software business very difficult to maintain their business. Especially small software businesses are often at a disadvantage when they try to win government contracts, Due to the characteristics and importance of software industry, there is no doubt that government support for mall/medium software business is indispensible. In fact, the development of the US software industry has been strongly influenced by government policy during postware period. This paper attempts to examine the general small/medium business supporting policies currently implemented. In addition, policies in the construction industry and the US federal government are explored, in order to find appropriate roles the government should play.

산업연관표의 재분류를 통한 소프트웨어산업의 노동유발계수 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Labor Inducement Coefficient of Software Industry through Reclassification of the Inter-Industry Table)

  • This study proposes the accurate labor inducement coefficient (employment inducement coefficient/hiring inducement coefficient) of Korea software industry by analyzing the inter-industry relation using the modified inter-industry table. To rewrite the inter-industry table of Korea, some previous studies related to the inter-industry analysis were reviewed and the key problems were identified. First, in the current inter-industry table published by the Bank of Korea, the output of software industry includes not only the pure software related output but also the output of non-software section due to the misclassification of the industry. This causes the output to become bigger than the actual output of software industry. Therefore, if the inter-industry table is not modified, the labor inducement coefficient would be overestimated too much. Second, during rewriting the inter-industry table, the output is changing. The inter-industry table is the table in the form of rows and columns, which records the transactions of goods and services among industries which are required to continue the activities of each industry. Accordingly, if only an output of a specific industry is changed, the reliability of the table would be degraded because the table is prepared based on the relations with other industries. This possibly causes the labor inducement coefficient to be over or underestimated. This study tries to correct these problems to get the more accurate labor inducement coefficient of the software industry. First, to get the output of the pure software section only, the data from the Korea Electronics Association (KEA) was used in the inter-industry table. Second, to prevent the difference in the outputs during rewriting the inter-industry table, the difference between the output in the current inter-industry table and the output from KEA data was identified and then it was defined as the non-software section output for the analysis. The followings are the labor inducement coefficient obtained when the output is divided into the pure software section (package software, and IT service) and non-software section. As of 2011, the employment inducement coefficients of pure software section, package software section and IT service of Korea were 8.616, 13.998, and 7.773 respectively while the labor inducement coefficients of pure software section, package software section and IT service of Korea were 7.979, 13.332, and 7.083, respectively.

새로운 IT 서비스 모델, 클라우드 비즈니스 모델 : M-Pesa 사례 분석 (Emerging IT Services Model : Cloud Business Model, Focused on M-Pesa Case)

  • Cloud computing, which means a new way of deploying information technology(IT) in organizations as a service and charging per use, has a deep impact on organizations' IT accessibility, agility and efficiency of its usage. More than that, the emergence of cloud computing surpasses a mere technological innovation, making business model innovation possible. We call this innovation realized by could computing a cloud business model. This study develops a comprehensive framework of business model, first, and then defines and analyzes the cloud business model through this framework. This study also examines the case of M-Pesa mobile payment as a cloud business model in which a new value creation and profit realization schemes have been realized and industry value network has changed. Finally, this study discusses the business implications from this new business model.

서비스 R&D 수요분석 연구 (A Study on Service R&D Needs Analysis in Korea)

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a service R&D concept definition and finding service R&D demand in Korea. It is necessary to develop an effective service R&D model to improve the competitiveness of the service industry. A survey model for finding service R&D demands has been developed through extensive discussions with experts. A demand survey for 91 experts in service industry and academia has been conducted to find relative weights of each service R&D category. Several other aspects on service R&D has beed investigated to analyze the relative importance of service R&D subjects. And a benchmarking on previous service R&D research investment has been performed. Past and present service R&D topics are compared as a whole and by each individual domain. A service R&D framework and important funding areas has been suggested. The results of this research can be used for research fund allocation decisions for strengthening service industry competitiveness.
