간호대학생의 다문화 자기효능감과 문화적 역량과의 관계 (Relationship between the Transcultural Self-efficacy and Cultural Competence of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the relationship between the transcultural self-efficacy (TSE) and cultural competence of nursing students. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study. A total of 352 nursing students were recruited from two universities in Incheon and Gyeonggi. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA with Scheffe's test, correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: The mean score of TSE was 6.20 (out of 10). The mean score of cultural competence was 4.98 (out of 7). TSE was positively correlated with cultural competence (r=.47, p<.001). The practical domain (β=.18, p=.001) and affective domain (β=.35, p<.001) of TSE had a significant effect on cultural competence. TSE accounted for 22.3% of cultural competence. Conclusion: Educational programs for improving cultural competence should include contents to improve the affective and practical domains of TSH. It is also helpful for subjects with various cultural backgrounds to learn interview skills and nursing skills through practice to reinforce cultural competence.

간호대학 4학년 학생의 중환자간호역량에 미치는 영향 요인 (Factors Influencing Competence in the Intensive and Critical Care Nursing of Senior Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing the competence in intensive and critical care nursing of senior nursing students. Methods: A descriptive survey was used to examine the factors that influence competence in intensive and critical care nursing. The data were collected using self-administered questionnaires; 237 senior nursing students were asked about general characteristics, critical thinking, communication competence, self-esteem, self-resilience, and self-leadership. Results: Multiple regression analysis indicated that self-leadership, self-esteem, and confidence in intensive care unit practice predicted the competence in intensive and critical care nursing (37.8% of explanatory power). Critical thinking, communication competence, and self-resilience were not shown to be significant predictors of, but were positively correlated with, the competence in intensive and critical care nursing. Conclusion: Based on the results, it is suggested that self-leadership, self-esteem, and confidence in intensive care unit practice should be considered in nursing education in order to improve nursing students' level of competence in intensive and critical care nursing.

간호대학생의 전문직 자아개념과 셀프리더십이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Professional Self-concept and Self-leadership on Clinical Competence in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done in order to identify nursing students' professional self-concept, self-leadership and clinical competence and to analyze the correlation among the variables and the factors influencing clinical competence. Methods: The research participants were 294 senior nursing students in the nursing departments of 3 universities located in Jeollabuk-do. The students had completed 3 semesters of clinical practice. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Multiple Regression. Results: Participants' scores for professional self-concept, self-leadership, clinical competence were $2.78{\pm}0.36$, $3.63{\pm}0.47$, $3.80{\pm}0.40$ respectively. Professional self-concept, self-leadership and clinical competence had positive correlations. Factors influencing nursing students' clinical competence included professional self-concepts in professional practice, self-expectations in self-leadership, constructive thinking, self-compensation and self-criticism in that order, and these variables explained 48%of the variance in clinical competence. Conclusion: Based on these results, it is important to develop and apply educational programs to increase professional self-concept and self-leadership in order to improve nursing students' clinical competence.

심폐소생술에 대한 병원 간호사의 지식 및 수행능력에 관한 연구 (A study on knowledge and competence of hospital nurses inperforming cardiopulmonary resuscitation)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the level of knowledge and competence of nurses with regard to cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Methods: The participants were 360 nurses who worked in 3 general hospitals affiliated with universities in K-province. The study was done in May and June, 2005. Analysis was done using SPSS 12.0 and descriptive statistics, t test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed that nurses’knowledge and competence levels vary. Mean scores for knowledge were 19.64. Using a score of 1, the mean was 0.65. Mean scores for competence were 96.29. Using a score of 5, the mean was 3.57. Correlation between total knowledge and total competence was r=.49 (p=.00). Conclusion: Lack of knowledge and low competence in nurses should be addressed in cardiopulmonary resuscitation education programs. For more effective education, the type of education should not be limited to lectures only, but should include both lectures and practice. As knowledge and competence were affected by work experience, it is important to provide nurses not only with knowledge but with work experience to increase levels of knowledge and competence in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

사회적 유능성에 형제유무와 정서지능이 미치는 영향 : 갈등해결전략의 매개효과 검증 (The Influences of Siblings and Emotional Intelligence on Social Competence : Conflict Solving Strategies as Mediators)

  • This study examined the effects of siblings, emotional intelligence (E.I.), and conflict solving strategies (integrating-compromising strategy/ dominating strategy) on children's social competence. The subjects were 421 6th graders (231 boys, 190 girls) in Seoul. The children filled out questionnaires on their siblings, E.I., and conflict solving strategies. Their teachers were asked to rate the children's social competence. Mediational analyses were conducted using structural equation modeling. Both integrating-compromising strategies and dominating strategies mediated the relationship between E.I. and social competence. Children with higher E.I. reported that they used more integrating-compromising strategies, which in turn was related to higher social competence. Those who scored low on E.I. reported that they used more dominating strategies, which in turn was related to lower social competence. Although the effects of siblings did not have any direct effects on social competence, it was found to be related to the type of conflict solving strategies most frequently used. Compared to the children with siblings, the children without siblings used more dominating strategies, which in turn contributed to lower social competence.

간호대학생의 간호전문직관과 셀프리더십이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Nursing Professionalism and Self-Leadership on Clinical Competence of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose. This study is a descriptive research study to confirm the nursing professionalism, self-leadership, and clinical competence of nursing students and to identify factors affecting clinical competence. Methods. This study conducted a structured-questionnaire survey with 179 nursing students to look into their nursing professionalism, self-leadership, and clinical competence. Results. According to the study result, nursing professionalism scored 3.79 on average out of 5points, self-leadership 3.79 on average, and clinical competence 3.75 on average. It was found that clinical competence had significantly positive correlations with nursing professionalism (r=.62, p<.001) and self-leadership (r=.57, p<.001). According to regression analysis, the factors affecting clinical competence were nursing professionalism(β=.437, p<.001), self-leadership(β=.350, p<.001) and explanatory power was 46.4%. Conclusions. Given the above results, in order to improve clinical competence of nursing students, nursing educational institutes need to find an educational plan which can contribute to increasing nursing professionalism and self-leadership.

동료지도학습법이 간호대학생의 동료돌봄행위, 대인관계유능성 및 학업적자기효능감에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Peer Tutoring on Nursing Students' Peer Group Caring Interaction, Interpersonal Competence, and Academic Self-Efficacy)

  • Purpose : This study aims to identify the effects of peer tutoring on the peer group caring interaction, interpersonal competence, and academic self-efficacy of nursing college students and to use them for practical education. Methods : The participants comprised 33 nursing students who lived in Gyeong-nam Province. Data were collected from February 1 to May 1, 2019. The PGCIS -K Questionnaire, Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire, and Academic Self-efficacy Questionnaire were used. Data were analyzed by average, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and Wilcoxon signed rank test using SPSS version 23.0. Results : A significant difference was found in the data obtained from the Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire (z=-2.13, p<.03) but not from the PGCIS-K Questionnaire of the research subjects who participated in peer tutoring (z=-.89, p<.37) and from the Academic Self-efficacy Questionnaire (z=-.78, p<.43). Furthermore, their interpersonal competence significantly increased after the peer tutoring program. Conclusion : This study developed a peer tutoring program for nursing students and applied it to basic nursing practice classes to verify its effect on peer group caring interaction, interpersonal competence, and academic self-efficacy. The subjects improved their peer group caring interaction and interpersonal competence through peer tutoring. Peer tutoring also showed an effect on interpersonal competence.

대형 IT서비스기업의 경영성과 요인 분석 및 성장모델 (The Analysis of the Growth Model and Performance Factors for the Large IT Service Companies in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the competence level of IT service companies in Korea from the view point of capability of creating customers value and outcome as an independent companies which have been growing in the captive customers(market) circumstance by performance data analysis and IT specialists survey. This study presents a growth model which emphasis on the importance of the correlation between IT service companies and captive customers. It proves that the captive customers have been being the growth power and motive of the IT service company, because IT service companies have been cumulating the competence for IT service through the service for the customers, and with this competence, IT service companies have been expanding its service out to non-captive market(customers) and got good outcomes as an independent companies. And this study proves that the captive customers who served by the IT service companies which have a higher level of service capabilities have better business outcome. IT service companies contribute to improve the IT level of the captive customers and to make the customers to increase sales by conducting IT projects.

Cultural Competence and Influencing Factors of Dental Hygiene Students

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of cultural competence and its influencing factors among 530 dental hygiene students. The analysis was performed using PASW Statistics ver. 18.0, and the following conclusions were drawn. Cultural knowledge levels showed a significant difference according to general characteristics in four components of cultural competence levels. Cultural competence and its four components were higher in subjects who have a religion (p<0.05). The differences in cultural competence levels according to culture-related characteristics are as follows. In individuals with experience of taking foreign culture-related classes, intention to work overseas, or fluency in a foreign language, cultural competence levels and its four components such as cultural comfort, knowledge, awareness, and behavior intent were higher (p<0.05). Intention of overseas employment was the factor most strongly influencing the level of cultural competence of the subjects. The more intention the subjects have to work overseas, the more they have experienced foreign culture-related lessons, the more fluently they speak a foreign language, and the higher level of cultural competency they reached (p<0.05). As the research results show, it is necessary to establish a continuing plan to understand and communicate with individuals of other cultures through foreign language and foreign culture classes in schools in order to improve the level of cultural competence. This education would reduce the fear and stress that subjects might make a mistake in meeting with people from other cultures, and it could be a preparatory process to actively carry out dental hygiene practice with foreigners.

임상간호사의 공감역량에 미치는 융합적 영향요인 (Converged Influencing Factors on Compassion Competence in Clinical Nurses)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 임상간호사의 공감역량, 공감만족, 공감피로의 정도를 파악하고 병원간호사의 공감역량에 융합적으로 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하는데 있다. 본 연구는 임상간호사의 공감역량에 미치는 융합적 요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 연구대상자는 충남 소재 D 광역시에 소재한 세 개 종합병원에 근무하는 간호사로 연구의 목적을 이해하고 연구에 참여할 것을 동의한 233명의 간호사이다. 연구 자료는 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, Stepwise multiple regression analysis를 이용하여 분석하였다. 임상간호사의 공감역량에 가장 영향이 높은 변수는 공감만족(${\beta}$=.350, p<.001), 임상경력(${\beta}$=.176, p=.008), 공감피로(${\beta}$=-.102, p=.033) 순으로 이들 3개 변수는 공감역량을 총 34.4% 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 임상간호사의 공감역량을 향상시키기 위한 차별화된 교육프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이며, 임상간호사의 공감역량 설명력이 34.1%이므로 병원간호사의 공감역량에 유의미한 변수를 추가한 연구가 필요하다.
