  • Nuclear fusion is one of the most promising options for generating large amounts of carbon-free energy in the future. Major countries such as China, EU, and Japan have established a national plan for DEMO construction and they are implementing it. Korea has started a nuclear fusion research and development by the KSTAR project started in 1995. There are matured needs for a full-scale research and development initiatives to ensure competition with the major countries for DEMO as well as achieve the final goal to commercialize fusion energy. In this paper, we apply the TRL and AHP methods in order to identify the key technologies to conduct DEMO R&D. We propose the priorities of future R&D on DEMO by deriving a core technology in the field. At first, we review the scientific theory of fusion and trend of progress of DEMO activities in major countries. For previous studies, we review TRL and AHP methods to examine the technology classification system of DEMO and identify key technologies. We apply TRL method to identify readiness level of DEMO technologies and AHP to compensate shortcoming of TRL. The key technologies of DEMO to be secured from a synthesis result of the TRL and AHP are burning plasma, plasma facing material, structural material, high frequency heating, neutral particle beam, safety, plasma diagnostic, and simulation technologies.

This program is involved motivation enhancement program with 4 subprograms composed of cognitive rehabilitation, emotion management, vocational rehabilitation, family education program. The subjects were 34 patirents with schizophrenia who had been hospitalized at National Mental Hospital on local area. The study was a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design with two groups, an experimental group(18 patients) and a control group(16 patients). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 12. 0. The results of the data show that there was not a significant increase in the symptom, cognitive and social function. But there was a significant increase in readiness of rehabilitation(maintenance, p=.027) and mental health recovery (p=.039). Short term recovery oriented integrated rehabilitation programs in inpatient settings are more available for motivation of rehabilitation and mental health recovery than symptom reduction or functional improvement. Therefore there should be more efforts to create more recovery oriented service provision in clinical settings.

  • This study examined the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Nurse-Patient Interaction Scale (K-NPIS) for the elderly, at long-term care hospitals in Korea. The original NPIS was developed to identify important characteristics of elderly patient experiences regarding nurse-patient interactions in nursing homes. Totally, 202 hospitalized elderly patients at 4 long-term hospitals in Jinju-si, Suncheon-si, and Namwon-si, were enrolled in the study and completed the questionnaire. For internal consistency, Cronbach's α of K-NPIS was 0.96 after item analysis. K-NPIS was validated using the confirmatory factor analysis and content validity. The content validity score was more than 0.80, establishing the appropriateness and readiness of the tool through group discussions between clinical experts and elderly patients. The K-NPIS is a 10-point scale comprising 12 questions. K-NPIS scores between different residential groups were significantly different, and showed no ceiling or floor effect. The internal consistency reliability, construct validity, and discriminative validity of K-NPIS was adequate. However, criterion validity requires further examination. Our findings suggest that K-NPIS serves as an appropriate measure of nurse-patient interaction when applying the nursing care intervention for elderly.

  • School algebra starts with introducing algebraic expressions which have been one of the cognitive obstacles to the students in the transfer from arithmetic to algebra. In the recent studies on the teaching school algebra, algebraic thinking is getting much more attention together with algebraic expressions. In this paper, we examined the processes of the transfer from arithmetic to algebra and ways for teaching early algebra through algebraic thinking factors. Issues about algebraic thinking have continued since 1980's. But the theoretic foundations for algebraic thinking have not been founded in the previous studies. In this paper, we analyzed the algebraic thinking in school algebra from historico-genetic, epistemological, and symbolic-linguistic points of view, and identified algebraic thinking factors, i.e. the principle of permanence of formal laws, the concept of variable, quantitative reasoning, algebraic interpretation - constructing algebraic expressions, trans formational reasoning - changing algebraic expressions, operational senses - operating algebraic expressions, substitution, etc. We also identified these algebraic thinking factors through analyzing mathematics textbooks of elementary and middle school, and showed the middle school students' low achievement relating to these factors through the algebraic thinking ability test. Based upon these analyses, we argued that the readiness for algebra learning should be made through the processes including algebraic thinking factors in the elementary school and that the transfer from arithmetic to algebra should be accomplished naturally through the pre-algebra course. And we searched for alternative ways to improve algebra curriculums, emphasizing algebraic thinking factors. In summary, we identified the problems of school algebra relating to the transfer from arithmetic to algebra with the problem of teaching algebraic thinking and analyzed the algebraic thinking factors of school algebra, and searched for alternative ways for improving the transfer from arithmetic to algebra and the teaching of early algebra.

  • This study examines the relationship between retirement preparation, positive psychological capital and successful aging for retirees and retirees, promotes successful aging of retirees and retirees, and increases positive psychological capital to increase desirable retirement time. I want to find a direction I can have. This study was conducted on 537 retirees and retirees who were preparing for retirement or retired from across the country as a structural relationship analysis, and the data collection period was from April 1 to April 20, 2019. As for the data, frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and structural relationship analysis were performed using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 9.0. As a result of the study, retirement preparation of retirees and retirees had a negative relationship with successful aging, and retirement readiness had a positive effect on self-acceptance of successful aging and autonomous life as mediators of resilience of positive psychological capital and self-efficacy. This means that the positive psychological factors of positive psychological capital have a positive effect on retirees and retirees who are struggling with anxiety about retirement preparations, enabling a successful retirement life. Therefore, when operating a retirement preparation program, it is necessary to organize and operate a program that can expand positive psychological capital.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the improvement plan of Korea Network for Occupations and Workers(KNOW) in terms of the information quality and usefulness for undergraduate students.'Homework of occupational information exploration'as research instrument was assigned to the engineering students taking career courses at KoreaTech in Chungnam province, Korea. Data was collected from two-hundred sixty six college students. The main results were as follows: The percentage of awareness of KNOW was very low(7.5%), but the mean of preference(73.5) and usefulness of career readiness(70.6) of KNOW were likely to be high. The information quality of KNOW was analysed in terms of both menu bar and evaluative components. In menu bar, the highest mean of information quality was'wage, job satisfaction, and job outlook'menu bar(71.7). On the other hand'task information on the job'had the lowest mean. In evaluative component, the highest mean of information quality was understandability(73.4), whereas the completeness was at the bottom(63.7). These results implied that the KNOW has the usefulness for engineering students to explore the occupational information and to make ready for career. Nevertheless, it is needed to publicize KNOW and to redeem menu bar and contents for the improvement of this online system.

  • In this study, a survey was conducted to determine the understanding by teachers at KIPO-funded high schools of the specialized training of invention patent personnel. The subjects were 4 high schools and 126 copies of questionnaires were collected for analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, teachers understand that it is particularly important to provide a specialized training for students so that they can more effectively adapt to the changes in their lives. They also consider basic job skills training, moral education and job readiness training as equally important. Second, they recognize the necessity for a specialized training of invention patent personnel. Third, they think that redundant teachers arising from the reform of the curriculum for specialized training should be provided with minor training. Fourth, they think that the reform of the curriculum for specialized training should consider the following aspects: the development of a curriculum for invention patent-specialized high schools, the strengthening of administrative financial supports, the creation of a consensus among those involved for the success of the specialized training, the development of textbooks and materials, and the consideration of the future prospects and current conditions of the invention patent industry. Fifth, they think that the successful operation of specialized high schools requires the consideration of the following factors: users' understanding, conformance, selection & concentration and uniqueness.
