Design of IIR Filters with Prefilter-Equalizer Structure for Narrowband Applications (협대역 응용 시스템을 위한 전처리기-등화기 구조의 IIR 여파기 설계 방법)

  • Optimal methods for designing multiplierless IIR filters with cascaded prefilter-equalizer structures are proposed for narrowband applications. Assuming that an U filter consists of a cyclotomic Polynomial (CP) prefilter and an all-Pole equalizer based on interpolated first order polynomial (IFOP), in the proposed method the prefilter and equalizer are simultaneously designed using mixed integer linear programming (MILP). The resulting filter is a cascaded filter with minimal complexity. In addition, MtP tries to minimize both computational complexity and phase response non-linearity. Design examples demonstrate that the proposed methods produce a more efficient cascaded prefilter-equalizer than existing methods.

The Design of Decimation Filters for High Precision Digital Audio Using FIR and IIR Filters (FIR과 IIR 필터를 이용한 고정밀 디지털 오디오용 데시메이션 필터 설계)

  • This paper has been proposed a structure composed of FIRs and IIR filters as digital decimation filter to compensate the drooping inband on the high precision AU chips. The area of chip has been reduced compared with the conventional structure because the RAM and MAC is reduced. The passband ripple$(\leq\; 0.4535 \times fs)$, passband attenuation(at $\; 0.4535 \times fs$ and stopband attenuation$(\geq\; 0.59\times fs)$ of the 6th-order $\Delta\Sigma$ modulator and digital decimation filter had $\pm0.0007[dB]$, -0.0013[dB] and -110[dB] respectively. Also the inband group delay, which was almost same compared with the conventional digital decimation filter structure, was 30.07/fs[s] band the error of group delay was 0.1672%.

  • In this paper, the polyphase filter which has good ripple characteristic in the passband is proposed. This filter consists of the digital all-pass filter of parallel structure and it is the half-band filter with all zeros in unit circle. To approach easily in designing hardware, we determined the coefficients to the 16bit 1.15 format. To evaluate the performance of this filter, we analyzed the phase characteristic in each branch and simulated each filter with small coefficients. From the result, we have got to good ripple characteristic and also analyzed the fifth and the seventh, and compared them with four part : ripple, group delay, transition bandwidth, stopband attenuation.

  • With basis of the development of information communication techniques in recent year, the digital processing techniquy also has been growed fast. The digital processing technique have used signals - speech and image processing- for processing of transmission and analysis. After we get and save the signals. Effective signal processing techniques have varied filters and typical digital filters are FIR filter and IIR filter. The FIR digital filter is more secure because phase response characteristics have linear phase. But, FIR digital filters have a problem to product the Gibbs phenomenon generating around a discontinuous point. A propose of filer is to remove the problem. Therefore, in this paper I was proposed a method using FIR digital filter applied a modified window function and the method was compared with conventional methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 DS-확산대역 시스템에서 격자형 IIR 노치필터를 이용하여 협대역 간섭신호를 제거한다. 이를 위하여 우선 갑섭신호의 주파수와 파워가 격자형 IIR 노치필터에 의ㅏ형 추정된다. 그리고 또 다른 IIR 노치필터를 수긴기 닾에 위치시키고 노치의 위치가 추정된 갑섭신호의 주파수에 있도록 한다. 그러나 단워원 위에 영점이 존재하는 IIR 노치필터는 간섭신호 뿐만 아니라 노치부분의 신호 성분도 제거하므로 데이터의 왜곡이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 이러한 데이터의 왜곡을 줄이기 위해서 필터의 노치 깊이를 조절하는 알고리듬을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 노치필터 출력의 신호 대 잡음비를 필터 파라미터에 대한 식으로 유도하고 이를 최대로 하는 최적의 노치 깊이를 구하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 제안한 알고리듬이 기존의 FIR 노치필터나 FIR LMS 알고리듬에 비해 좋은 성능을 갖는다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

Phase Characteristics of Approximated Head-related Transfer Functions(HRTFS) Using IIR Filters on the Sound Localization

  • We have proposed a simple method based on IIR filters for realizing sound image localization. How-ever the nonlinearity of phase characteristics of the IIR filters, which are used for sound image localization, cause decrease of the localization accuracy. In this paper we investigate the influence of phase characteristics on the sound localization. Head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) of a dummy-head are approximated by the IIR filter. We carried out sound image localization experiment with 2-loudspeaker reproduction using the approximated HRTFs. Then the errors which obtained from experiments were compared with the theoretical values which were estimated from the phase shifts of the IIR filters. As a result there was little influence of the nonlinear phase characteristics of the IIR fitters in the localization on the horizontal plane.

  • Because of superior division among sub-channels, DWT MC-CDMA is less interference with neighborhood channel. In our newly proposed multi-carrier CDMA data transmission method, lIR CMFB filter banks sharply divide sub-bands and reduces spectral overlaps among neighboring sub-channels. In experiment result, proposed filter is better ability of sub-band division than FIR filter. Since the proposed cosine modulated filter banks lIR filter having wavelet property is designed to response sharp transition band, the ISI and ICI between neighboring sub-channels can be effectively reduced. And robustness about narrow band interference of CMFB IIR MC-CDMA almost same FIR DWT MC-CDMA.

  • A multi-filter fusion technique is proposed and this technique is applied to the INS/GPS integrated system. IIR-type EKF and FIR-type RHKF filter are fused to provide the advantages of these filters based on the adaptive mixing probability calculated by the residuals and the residual covariance matrices of the filters. In the INS/GPS, this fusion filter can provide more robust navigation information than the conventional stand-alone filter.

  • This paper develops a design technique for approximating nonseparable frequency characteristics by sums and products of separable transfer functions. Therefore nonseparable frequency characteristics includes the four-quadrant symmetry filters. The desired filter with half plan symmetry is obtained by shifting a low pass characteristic in the frequency domain, and by combining these shifted characteristics. Also the paper develops the technique for designing recursive and nonrecursive two dimensional digital filters by the application of a complex transformation to one dimensional low pass filter.
