Knowledge Exchange Activities and Performances in Software Industry Clusters: Focus on Firm Size Effect

  • Purpose: This research investigates the differences in knowledge exchange activities and performances between startups and large companies in software industry clusters. Research design, data, and methodology: Six independent factors of human resource information, R&D and technology, marketing knowledge, government support information, strategic knowledge, and cooperation information were extracted to test the firm size effect in the relationships with two performance factors such as satisfaction with industry cluster location and satisfaction with financial performances. Data were collected through a survey of entrepreneurs, managers, and employees and tested by statistical analysis methodologies. Results: Three independent factors of human resource information, R&D and technology, and cooperation information were particularly significant in the relationship with both dependent factors. Strategic knowledge significantly affected financial performance. Knowledge exchange activities were more important in startups than in large companies for all eight factors. Conclusion: Policies for software industry clusters need a different approach for startups and large companies.

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 국내 도시철도운영기업 12개 기업을 중심으로 통합적 인적자원관리 유형에 따른 노사협력, 그리고 기업성과의 차이를 조사하고 노사협력이 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 검증하였다. 분석결과, 폐쇄적 몰입형과 개방적 탄력형이 보수적 관리형이나 빈약한 관리형에 비해 노사협력과 기업성과가 높게 나타났다. 또한, 노사협력이 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석 결과, 노사협력 요인 가운데 근로자 개별적 노사협력 변인은 운행안정성, 고객만족, 운영혁신, 자립경영, 직무만족 등 모든 기업성과 변인에 유의한 정(+)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었으나, 집단적 노사협력 변인은 기업성과 변인 가운데 운영혁신, 직무만족 요인에만 유의한 정(+)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

건설기술인력의 일터학습 참여가 인적자원성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증분석 (Empirical Analysis on the Impact of Workplace Learning on Human Resource Performance of Construction Engineer)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 건설기술인력의 일터학습 참여 실태와 더불어 일터학습의 하위유형인 형식학습과 무형식학습이 각각 건설기술인력의 인적자원성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 2015년 한국직업능력개발원의 6차 인적자본기업패널조사 근로자용 설문자료에서 건설기술인력 306명의 응답치를 선택하여 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 건설기술인력의 일터학습(형식학습, 무형식학습) 참여는 10,069명 전체 근로자에 비해 상대적으로 낮은 수준에 머물러 있으며, 특히 무형식 학습의 참여는 더욱 낮은 수준이었다. 회귀분석 결과를 보면 형식학습의 참여는 직무만족과 직무몰입에만 정(+)의 영향을, 직무능력의 향상에는 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 무형식학습은 직무능력, 직무만족, 조직몰입 모두에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 또한 형식학습에 비해 더욱 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

내부브랜딩 수행수준 평가 도구 개발 및 국내 자생 호텔과 다국적 호텔의 내부브랜딩 수행수준 차이 분석 (Development of Internal Branding Performance Measure and Analysis on the Difference of Internal Branding Performances between Local and International Hotels)

  • The purposes of this study were to develop a tool for assessing internal branding performance and to identify the difference of internal branding performance between local and international hotels. The internal branding performance measure was developed through literature studies and face-to-face in-depth interviews with managers in various departments of 5 deluxe hotels. The questionnaires were distributed to 460 employees in food and beverage departments of 11 deluxe hotels in Seoul, and a total of 398 questionnaires were used for analysis ($86.5\%$). The statistical analyses were completed using SPSS Win (12.0) for descriptive analysis, reliability analysis and t-test, and AMOS (5.0) for confirmatory factor analysis. The results of this study showed that the measure developed in this study was reliable and valid for assessing internal branding performances of hotels. In addition, the internal branding performances of hotels were high at understanding of brand dimensions and relatively low at work and organizational culture and human resource management dimensions, and local hotels showed lower levels of performance than international hotels at the dimensions of work and organizational culture (t = -3.801, P < 0.001) and human resource management(t = -5.397, p < 0.001). In conclusion, it is considered that a strong internal branding strategy should be established for successful brand management, and the practical measure for internal branding performance would be a key factor.

학교급식소와 사업체급식소 영양사 직무의 중요도와 수행도 및 직무만족도 비교연구 (A Comparative Study of Job Importance, Performance Level, and Job Satisfaction of School and Office Foodservice Dietitians)

  • This study was conducted to analyze job importance, performance level, and job satisfaction of school and office foodservice dietitians. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from 181 dietitians in the Chungnam area. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS v. 14.0. School dietitians were 55% and office dietitians were 45%. Of both, age of 20s and 30s scored 85%; the age of 30s of schools dietians scored 70% while those in office dietians 20s scored 79%. More than 84% of school and office dietitians were university graduates. Total average of job importance of school dietitians was 4.24 and job performance was 3.97 while that of office dietitians was 4.15 and job performances was 3.69. A duty that had a big difference in job importance and performances as a dietitian was 'education of nutrition' (p<.001) and 'self-improvement' (p<.001). According to the meal service except, importance and performances of duties showed a significantly high level (p<.001) for office dietitians, but most measures of job importance and performances showed a high level at school. Therefore, in order to improve job performances and satisfaction for school dietitians, it is necessary to develop systematic and professional education programs for qualification improvement and to grow pride and improve treatment as a nutrition teacher through expansion of appointment. Meanwhile, for office dietitians, it is required to strengthen duty education of 'human resource management' and 'meal service management' through education and supplementary training in companies, on which personal characteristics are reflected.

산학협력단 핵심역량이 기술이전과 교육성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Core Competencies of the University-Industry Cooperation on Technology Transfer & Education Performances)

  • 본 연구는 산학협력단의 리더십역량, 전략역량 등 핵심역량이 기술이전과 교육성과에 미치는 영향을 분석한 연구이다. 우선, 산학협력단과 관련한 문헌연구를 실시하였고, 전국 산학협력단을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 산학협력단 주요 경영성과인 기술이전성과와 교육성과를 종속변수로 설정하였다. 독립변수로는 리더십역량, 전략역량, 인적자원역량, 연구개발 역량을 설정하고 각각에 대한 조작적 정의를 부여 하였다. 변수간 인과관계분석을 위한 연구모형을 제시하였으며, 설문대상 간의 차이 분석을 위해 국공립 대학과 사립대학을 조작변수로 연구모형에 포함하였다. 실증분석 결과, 독립변수로 적용한 리더십역량은 기술이전성과와 교육성과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 조사되었으며, 마찬가지로 전략역량은 교육성과에만 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다. 인적자원역량의 경우에도 종속변수에 미치는 영향이 없었으며, 연구개발 역량의 경우에는 기술이전성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과가 산학협력단의 경영성과 개선에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

중소기업 인적자원 역량이 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Impact of Human Resource Competency on the Firm Performance of SMEs)

  • 본 연구는 대표자역량, 기술개발인력역량, 경영진역량 등 인적자원 역량과 기업의 재무적/비재무적 성과 사이의 관계를 밝히고자 한다. 인적자원과 기업성과, 중소기업의 성과요인, 재무적 성과와 비재무적 성과에 대한 선행연구를 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 연구모형 및 연구가설을 설정한다. 연구 결과, 대표자 역량은 기업의 비재무적 성과와 재무적 성과 모두에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 대표자의 동업종 종사경력은 비재무적 성과물인 산업재산권의 등록 수에 긍정적의 영향을 미치며, 대표자의 학력이 높을수록 재무적 성과에 정의 영향을 미치고 있다. 기업 기본역량은 비재무적 성과에는 긍정적인 영향을 미치지만 재무적 성과에는 별다른 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 기술인력은 주로 신기술의 개발, 혁신성과물의 창출에 관심을 가지며, 이러한 관심이 궁극적으로는 기업의 재무성과에 영향을 미칠 수도 있으나, 단기적으로 기업성과와는 무관한 것으로 연구되었다. 또한 경영진의 전문성이 장기적으로는 기업의 성과에 영향을 미칠 수도 있으나 재무성과에는 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.

ACTIVITY-BASED STRATEGIC WORK PLANNING AND CREW MANAGEMENT IN CONSTRUCTION: UTILIZATION OF CREWS WITH MULTIPLE SKILL LEVELS

  • Although many research efforts have been conducted to address the effect of crew members' work skills (e.g., technical and planning skills) on work performance (e.g., work duration and quality) in construction projects, the relationship between skill and performance has generated a great deal of controversy in the field of management (Inkpen and Crossan 1995). This controversy can lead to under- or over-estimations of the overall project schedule, and can make it difficult for project managers to implement appropriate managerial policies for enhancing project performance. To address this issue, the following aspects need to be considered: (a) work performances are determined not only by individual-level work skill but also by the group-level work skill affected by work team members, each member's role, and any working behavior pattern; (b) work planning has significant effects on to what extent work skill enhances performance; and (c) different types of activities in construction require different types of work, skill, and team composition. This research, therefore, develops a system dynamics (SD) model to analyze the effects of both individual-and group-level (i.e., multi-level) skill on performances by utilizing the advantages of SD in capturing a feedback process and state changes, especially in human factors (e.g., attitude, ability, and behavior). The model incorporates: (a) a multi-level skill evolution and relevant behavior development mechanism within a work group; (b) the interaction among work planning, a crew's skill-learning, skill manifestation, and performances; and (c) the different work characteristics of each activity. This model can be utilized to implement appropriate work planning (e.g., work scope and work schedule) and crew management policies (e.g., work team composition and decision of each worker's role) with an awareness of crew's skill and work performance. Understanding the different characteristics of each activity can also support project managers in applying strategic work planning and crew management for a corresponding activity, which may enhance each activity's performance, as well as the overall project performance.

This study propose that Military General's core competency model based on job analysis to identify competency of Army, Navy, Air Force's Generals and to identify the consequences and performances of assess center method. This study propose that assess center method applied to Military General's Promotion System have many kinds. Facilitated Simulation methods were Planning and Analysis /Oral Presentation, Presentation management Coaching, customer /Peer lnteraction. Non-facilitated Simulation methods were In-Basket game, Leaderless Group Discussion, role playing. And this study propose that Military General's assessment center method based on core competency model will be effective in Military field.

R&D 전문가를 위한 인력관리 : 박사급 인력을 중심으로 (Human Resource Management for R&D Professionals with Ph.D. degree)

  • This study examines the personal characteristics, organizational attitudes, technical performances, and reward preferences of R&D professionals with Ph.D. degree in large private companies in Korea. Based on survey data from 887 professionals in nine different R&D organizations, the following results are found; 1) R&D professionals with Ph.D. degree exhibit higher autonomy preference, need for achievement, self-efficacy, technical career orientation, and performance proficiency than other R&D professionals; 2) As their organizational tenure increases, performance proficiency and transfer career orientation increases but their socialized level of organizational goals and values does not change; 3) They produce more technical publications and exhibit more positive organizational attitude than other R&D professionals; 4) They are more likely to prefer job content, professional, and job security rewards. These empirical findings suggest several theoretical and practical implications for the management of R&D professionals with Ph.D. degree in the large Korean firms.
