1992년 조선건축회에 의한 개선주책설계도안 현상모집에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Better Housing Plan Competition by the Architectural Association of Chosun in 1992)

  • The main object of this research was to study the better housing business by the Architectural Association of Chosun. The Architectural Association of Chosun was founded in 1992 and it influenced great deal on the development of Korean architecture. The Architectural Association of Chosun took the first step in business by holding the Better Housing Plan Competition which was the first housing plan competition in Korea, Also, it meant the enlightenment of better cultural housing. Overall, it can be summarized as follows; 1) It could be considered that the Architectural Association of Chosun was connected with the Japanese Colonial Policy of that time. 2) The Better Housing Plan Competition indicated the way of improving better living condition. 3) Most of the prize-wining works emphasized economical and practical way of housing. 4) The wanted to get out of the old conventional way of hosing. 5) All the plans showed \" the living\" and it meant that \" the living: is the centre of family life which connected the modern housing plan. 6) Western way of life was combined with the conventional style, in other words, modernization of life was derived from the western style. 7) Better housing plan which is more suitable for the Korean weather and environment was not considered. 8) Colonial domination of Japanese style could also be found in housing. Most of the plans used Japanese style as the basic housing style. housing style.

1939년 조선일보 주최 조선주택설계도안 현상모집에 관한 고찰 (A Research on Housing Plan Competitions Promoted by Daily Cho-Sun Company in Japanese Colonial Period)

  • This study examines the details and characteristics of prizewinning plans of Cho-Sun housing plan competition promoted by Daily Cho-Sun Company during Japanese colonial period. The main features of Cho-Sun housing plan competition were that the competition held with an application of popular newspaper readers and a judging committee was composed of only Korean architects, especially Park, Gil-Ryong as the president of the board of examiners. Cho-Sun housing plan competition put ideological factors for the improvement of living as like advancing to the cultured(modem) life, respecting for family life, respecting for privacy of family members and so on. First of all, the competition suggested the direction of the improvement of dwelling spaces which focused on making harmonious home life. This study found common characteristics of prizewinning plans of Cho-Sun housing plan competition as the result. First, Cho-Sun housing plan competition introduced a centralized house plan as a model of the improvement of small-sized houses. Second, architectural orders of western or Japanese style mingled with ones of korean traditional style in prizewinning plans as entrance hall, western style reception room(parlour), maid's room, bathroom for example. And a manner of seating using chairs was brought into the style of living which would be assumed in the prizewinning plans. Third, traditional way of composing dwelling spaces was maintained, receiving the characteristics of dwelling spaces of japanese style simultaneously, which central corridor was put at the heart of house for improving arrangement of rooms and flow lines. Fourth, lavatory and bathroom were placed inside of the house.

1946년 조선건축기술단 주최 국민주택 설계도안 현상모집의 재고찰 (A Study on the Housing Competition Promoted by Cho-Sun Architectural Engineering Group in 1946)

  • This study examined details and characteristics of prizewinning plans of housing competition promoted by korean architects group in 1946. The competition were held for the first since Liberation of Korea, and had practical purpose to construct houses to solve severe shortage of housing. This study found common trends of housing plan by prizewinning architects, analyzing architectural characteristics of prizewinning plans. Architects pursued western style living for renewed living conditions of people, planning precedent houses to put reception room at the heart of dwelling spaces and centralize them using entrance hall or corridor for traffic lines. Also, they arranged reception room and family room facing to the south and placed lavatory or bathroom inside of houses for hygiene. Kitchens were finished with wooden floor to keep same level of reception room and equipped with sink, kitchen table, pantry for convenient housekeeping. The result of competition become a basis of constructing houses by housing administration in 1947, and more important foundation for planning typical public houses of national housing corporation.

So they are suppling various plans and changing space to confront lifestyle of consumers. 독일 공동주택 설계경기의 심사평에 나타난 평가항목에 관한 연구 - 연립주택을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Critical Elements in the Commentaries on Competition of the Mulifamily Housing in Germany - Focused on the Rowhousing -)

  • In this study, I investigate the critical evaluation elements at the architectural competition of the Rowhousing held nationwide in Germany. These evaluation elements, which can be regarded as the important design evaluation criteria, are selected by the design competition committee. Generally, in Germany the design competition committee consist of professors and famous architects who have theoretical and practical abilities with their own office. I classify and analyze the critical evaluation elements of 95 committee members, working on the selected 9 prize-winners in Germany from 1998 to 2002. I conclude that the critical evaluation elements, ordered by frequency are ; $\circled1$ context, $\circled2$ landscape & outside space, $\circled3$ arrangement of building, $\circled4$ circulation, $\circled5$ organization of plan, $\circled6$ economic aspects, $\circled7$ orientation of building, $\circled8$ parking, $\circled9$organization of form, $\circled10$ natural light. These design evaluation criteria for the Rowhousing in Germany also can apply to the korean case.

국내주택업체의 단위세대 품질의 차별화 실태조사연구 (A Study on the Current Condition of Quality Differentiation of the Apartment Unit Quality Planned by Domestic Housing Companies)

  • 정부의 대량주택공급정책 등으로 인한 고객중심으로의 시장변화는 자연히 주택 공급업체로 하여금 품질의 경쟁시대를 맞이하도록 하였다. 이러한 품질경쟁시대에서 빠르게 변화하는 고객의 요구품질에 부응하는 주택상품기획 방향을 모색하기위한 선행연구로서 현재 우리 주택시장에서 이루어지는 주택상품의 단위세대 품질의 차별화 사례유형에 대한 실태분석을 실시하였다. 조사 및 분석 결과 많은 사례들이 단순히 마감자재의 고급화나 일시 유행적인 친환경자재의 사용과 부분적이고 단속적인 생활편의품과 설비시스템의 건축요소와의 결합 등을 통한 상품풀질의 차별화를 꾀하고 있었다. 본 연구결과 주택상품의 차별화 기획은 고객을 중심으로 하여 단위세대의 품질 요소 중 건축지향적인 평면 및 인테리어요소와 기술지향적인 설비 및 제품요소의 유기적인 융합을 통합 품질의 차별화가 이루어져야 할 것으로 판단된다. 향후 주택상품기획단계에서는 고객 개념의 재정립을 통한 사람중심의 지속가능한 차별화 계획요소에 대한 연구 및 고객 지향적 주택상품기획 절차의 마련이 필요한 것으로 연구되었다.

최근 공동주택 설계경기에 나타난 단위세대 계획개념 및 공간 계획 특성 - 2007년도 이후의 수도권 설계경기 당선작을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Planning Concept and Spatial Characteristics of the Multi-housing Units in Design Competition - Focused on the prize-wining works of design competition in Seoul and Kyunggi Area since 2007 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the planning concept and spatial characteristics of the multi-housing units in prize-wining works of design competition since 2007. Literature review and content analysis were used for this study and 199units over $59m^2$ were analyzed to review the planning concept, spatial composition and layout. The results of this study were as follows; 1)The planning concept of these units were divided into three aspects; that is, eco-friendly, rational and sustainable unit plan by means of functional, environmental-friendly and future-oriented aspects. 2)Most unit plans had 3LDK+2bath and 4Bay types including family room as a public space. This results shows that family-room and bathroom has recently become more important than number of rooms in multi-housing units planning. 2)In terms of the spatial composition of LDK and Master Bed room, LDK area become large, open type and master-zone were showed 'bed room+dress and powder room+bath' type. 3)The entrance has a intermediated space as a balcony or a former space and the privacy of LDK space was protected from the entrance. This study has a significant moaning on grasping current trend in Korean multi-housing and to provide Information for future direction on housing-unit design.

경사도에 따른 고층 주거 단지의 주동 형태에 관한 연구 - 설계경기 당선안을 중심으로 (A Study on the Block Plans in High-Rise Multi-Family Housing based on a Gradient - A Case Study on Prizewinners in the Design Competitions)

  • Owing to the mass-housing policies of high-density and high-rise, the residential environments in Korea have come to be uniform and monotonous. Nevertheless, the design competitions introduced for the first time in 1980s have Played significant roles in developing the fresh ideas and concepts in housing design. And in our country, the land of the gradient $0-9^{\circ}$ that is able to plan as level sites come up to 32.5% of the total land and the land of the gradient $10-29^{\circ}$that should be designed by considering the characteristics of the sloping sites is 53.2% of the whole. For that reason, the development of the apartment housing in the sloping site has been done largely to solve the issues associated with the scarcity of the land. Therefore, it is very meaningful job to see the various design methods on the basis of the characteristics of the sites, particularly gradient, by analyzing the prizewinners in the design competitions. In this context, the research analyzed the works that won the design competition after 1990, and organized the types of the block plans and the design characteristics applied in our residence housing. Secondarily, it classified that types by the gradient and analyzed statistically and compared the numerical value.

서울 은평 뉴타운 1지구 조경설계 (A Landscape Design Proposal for Eunpyeong New Town, Seoul)

  • The Seoul Housing Corporation pronounced an alternative design competition and a bidding for Eunpyeong New Town in December of 2004. At first many construction companies were interested in the first New Town Project. But at last a few companies had proposed the alternative design and construction cost. This project needed a conjunction of design ideas and technology know-hows. And the client wanted the brand power of construction company. Ultimately the Corporation hoped that the first New Town Project will end up with high quality successfully. This competition had started with the original construction drawings. Then it needed some alternative ideas and the lowest cost. There were two drawings of non changeable part and changeable part. Non changeable parts are structure like housing unit plan, underground parking lots. Changeable parts are outdoor layout, interior design and building facade. So we tried all ideas of landscape technology and design principles within limited guidelines. The author applied new technology like tilted rooftop greening and sustained container greening on high-rise apartment house. This green technology will be the first trial in Seoul and in the world as well. Daewoo Corporation have accumulated greening technology through the researches by national funding since 2002. Through this New Town Project the green technology will go forward step by step.

아파트 주민공동시설 이용현황에 관한 연구 -사례 조사를 통한 이용현황과 만족도 분석을 중심으로- (A Study on the Utilization of Community Facilities in Apartment Complex)

  • Community facilities in apartment complex have been developed through construction companies' needs for housing development and differentiation combined with a intense marketing competition among housing construction companies. But, It is the fact that the construction companies have planned the community facilities without considering on residents' needs for housing environmental amenity and preference. Therefore, this study investigated the space composition and the present usage of community facilities and surveyed to get concrete information regarding the residents' satisfaction with the proposed community facilities plan. It is the conclusion that the residents request a convenient and comfortable facilities similar level with those in the outside sports complex and the operating programs.
