A new optical asymmetric cryptosystem is proposed by modifying the asymmetric RSA public-key protocol required in a cryptosystem. The proposed asymmetric public-key algorithm can be optically implemented by combining a two-step quadrature phase-shifting digital holographic encryption method with the modified RSA public-key algorithm; then two pairs of public-private keys are used to encrypt and decrypt the plaintext. Public keys and ciphertexts are digital holograms that are Fourier-transform holograms, and are recorded on CCDs with 256-gray-level quantized intensities in the optical architecture. The plaintext can only be decrypted by the private keys, which are acquired by the corresponding asymmetric public-key-generation algorithm. Schematically, the proposed optical architecture has the advantage of producing a complicated, asymmetric public-key cryptosystem that can enhance security strength compared to the conventional electronic RSA public-key cryptosystem. Numerical simulations are carried out to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed method, by evaluating decryption performance and analysis. The proposed method shows feasibility for application to an asymmetric public-key cryptosystem.

Since the structural impedance is much greater than that of medium in the most cases, we often assume that the structure is rigid and that the structural vibration is independent of medium, i.e. we usually calculate the vibration of the structure first, and then obtain the radiation sound from it. This assumption is no longer satisfied when the structural stiffness is small or the fluid impedance is comparable to it. This situation often happens in underwater acoustics. Although many researchers have studied about structural-fluid coupling, we have difficulties in solving the problem analytically. Therefore the numerical method using powerful computation leads us to obtain the various coupling problem. To understand the physical coupling phenomena, visualization of sound field by a geometrically simple system(plate-cavity coupled system) is performed experimentally. Acoustic holographic method is used to estimate sound field.
Holographic display technology is one of the promising 3D display technologies. However, the large amount of computation time required to generate computer-generated holograms (CGH) is a major obstacle to the commercialization of digital hologram. In various systems such as multi-depth head-up-displays with hologram contents, it is important to transmit hologram data in real time. In this paper, we propose a rapid CGH computation method by applying an arraying of a down-scaled hologram with the multiplication of a shifted concave lens function array. Compared to conventional angular spectrum method (ASM) calculation, we achieved about 39 times faster calculation speed for 3840 × 2160 pixel CGH calculation. Through the numerical investigation and experiments, we verified the degradation of reconstructed hologram image quality made by the proposed method is not so much compared to conventional ASM.

A technique of optical image synthesis with an extended incoherent source is presented and compared with the coherent method. A holographic diffraction grating is fabricated by using Michelson interferometer, and by equalizing the 8th-order to the 2nd-order diffraction efficiency, complex amplitude addition and subtracdtion of optical images are simultaneously realized. The experiment shows that the quality of synthesized optical images in the incoherent method is improved in comparison with that of the coherent method by suppressing the coherent artifact noise.

Even I the Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) method that measure the strain of object within wavelength of light is less visibility than Holographic Interferometry(HI) method, the merits of application, convenience and time-save have made the method practical in industry. However, the existing ESPI methods that are based on dual-exposure, real-time and time-average method have difficulties for accurate measurement, due to irregular intensity and shake of phase. Recently, in order to solve this problem, phase shifting method have been proposed. In this method, the path of reference light in interference is shifted to make improvement in distinction and precision. But this method includes too many noise, caused by the problem of relationship between object and phase. Therefore, a method to reduce noise muse be introduced. In this paper, least square fitting method is proposed. As results, the phase-map is influenced by precise phase shifting and current of notes and speckle pattern obtained by phase shifting method is improved on the existing method driven from time-average method.
A real-time holography system using LCD with CCD camera is proposed. In this system, the rainbow hologram is used since it can be reconstructed by white light source. And to record on CCD camera, a kind of in-line holography method is used to widen the width of the fringe pattern. The interference fringe pattern by proposed system is detected with CCD camera and transferred to the LCD A 3-dimensional image is reconstructed when a white light source illuminates the LCD. So it can represent 3 dimensional moving images at real-time. In this paper, to confirm the usefulness of the proposed method, the reconstructed image by holographic film is compared to the same reconstruct image by LCD. In the recording of the interferenced processing, the optimal ratio of the reference and object beam intenstiy is also investigated.

In most absorption machines, absorption enhancement has been achieved by adding small amount of surfactant additive, which introduced the surface tension difference between absorbent and surfactant droplets in the vapor absorption. The aim of this study is to understand a basic mechanism of Marangoni convection and its effectiveness in the vapor absorption enhancement. In this study, nonflowing aqueous solution of LiBr 60 mass% was exposed to saturated water vapor under the condition that two dropwises surfactant were fixed on the absorbent surface. Our experiments achieved to visualize the enhanced heat and mass transfer phenomena by the effect of Marangoni convection through the laser holographic interferometry. Also, Marangoni convection behavior was obtained by using tracer method.
To maximize the storage density in a localized hologram recording method, each hologram should be recorded as close as possible to its neighboring holograms. In this case, the reference beams used to record two adjacent holograms may overlap in spatial multiplexing. Through simulations and experiments, we show that there exists an optimal reference beam size to minimize the overlap for a given shifting distance of the reference beams in spatial multiplexing. Thus the advantages of the localized hologram recording method can be minimally sacrificed while the storage density is increased.
In this paper, I introduce a novel design method of a high performance nanophotonic beam deflector providing broadband operation, large active tunability, and signal efficiency, simultaneously. By combining thermo-optically tunable vanadium dioxide nano-ridges and a metallic mirror, reconfigurable local optical phase of reflected diffraction beams can be engineered in a desired manner over broad bandwidth. The active metagrating deflectors are systematically designed for tunable deflection of reflection beams according to the thermal phase-change of vanadium dioxide nano-ridges. Moreover, by multiplexing the phase-change supercells, a robust design of actively tunable beam splitter is also verified numerically. It is expected that the proposed intuitive and simple design method would contribute to development of next-generation optical interconnects and spatial light modulators with high performances. The author also envisions that this study would be fruitful for modern holographic displays and three-dimensional depth sensing technologies.
A fast hologram calculation approach is proposed to reduce computational load by avoiding the recalculation of redundancy information. In the proposed method, the hologram is divided into several sub-holograms that record and reconstruct different views of 3D objects. The sub-hologram is generated from its adjacent calculated sub-holograms by only adding the holograms of difference images between an adjacent pair of views. The repetitive information of two adjacent views is called angular redundancy. Therefore, avoiding the recalculation of this angular redundancy can considerably reduce the computational load. Experimental results confirm that the proposed method can reduce the computational time for the statue head, rabbits, and car to 4.73%, 6.67%, and 10.4%, respectively, for uniform intensity, and to 56.34%, 57.9%, and 66.24%, respectively, for 256 levels intensity, when compared to conventional methods.
