  • This study investigated the relationships of situational factors, motivational assessment-related factors, and situationally induced personal characteristics with pro-social intention to disclose patient information among health and medical students. In total, 210 students from Konyang University participated in the survey, including 116 medical students and 94 other health students. To measure the influence of variables on pro-social intention to disclose information related to health information security, a 27-item questionnaire was used. The reliability of the survey was shown by Cronbach's α values of 0.859 to 0.917. According to students' perceptions, higher disease severity was significantly related to higher impacts on the patient, family, and themselves (p<0.01), as well as higher situational empathy (p<0.05). Pro-social intention to disclose showed negative correlations with health information security awareness, information education experience, perceived impact on the self, responsibility to disclose, and personal norms (r=-0.136 to -0.647, p<0.05). Responsibility to disclose and situational empathy explained approximately 44% of the variance in pro-social intention to disclose. Additionally, students who received information security training perceived a significantly higher responsibility to disclose, exhibited higher health information security awareness, and had lower pro-social intention to disclose. This study confirmed the need for information security education for health and medical students, and suggested that pro-social characteristics such as empathy and responsibility need to be carefully addressed in information security education.

  • With respect to the factors affecting information security awareness and behavior, the study of the relevance of the concept of optimistic bias is actively used in psychology. In other words, this study examines whether the optimistic bias of individuals affects information security in the field. In this sense, this study attempted to demonstrate the relevance of optimistic bias in information security behavior and awareness. A questionnaire survey was conducted targeting 111 people engaged in domestic private enterprises. The survey results showed that this personalized optimistic bias exists because of empirical factors related to personal security. Optimistic bias affects the security awareness information. The greater the optimistic bias, the lower the awareness and recognition of information security. In other words, optimistic bias affects information security awareness. Reducing the effects of optimistic bias is expected to reduce information security incidents, such as information leakages. However, the variety of information related ethical activities of a company did not have any effect on the information security awareness. Most previous studies have only examined the effect optimistic bias in the field of health. Therefore, this study fills an important gap in research in IT.

  • In this era of information and communication technology (ICT), tremendous improvements have been witnessed in our daily lives. The impact of these technologies is subjective and negative or positive. For instance, ICT has brought a lot of ease and versatility in our lifestyles, on the other hand, its excessive use brings around issues related to physical and mental health etc. In this study, we are bridging these both aspects by proposing the idea of AI based mental healthcare (AIMS). In this regard, we aim to provide a platform where the patient can register to the system and take consultancy by providing their assessment by means of a chatbot. The chatbot will send the gathered information to the machine learning block. The machine learning model is already trained and predicts whether the patient needs a treatment by classifying him/her based on the assessment. This information is provided to the mental health practitioner (doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or therapist) as clinical decision support. Eventually, the practitioner will provide his/her suggestions to the patient via the proposed system. Additionally, the proposed system prioritizes care, support, privacy, and patient autonomy, all while using a friendly chatbot interface. By using technology like natural language processing and machine learning, the system can predict a patient's condition and recommend the right professional for further help, including in-person appointments if necessary. This not only raises awareness about mental health but also makes it easier for patients to start therapy.

  • By studying the awareness level of students, for the need to protect personal information, and also by studying students' level of perception as to which information needs protection, this study aims to show that increased education is beneficial, and necessary, across all university majors. This increased education is necessary to improve information security, and increase the responsible sharing of private data which has many benefits, specifically in the Healthcare field. Utilizing student volunteers across multiple majors at a university in South Korea. These questionnaires measured the students' awareness of private information, their perception of private information and also the students' experience in receiving university level education regarding private information and the need for its protection. This study shows that, when compared to students in other fields, students in the field of public health had a higher level of awareness regarding the consequences of personal information disclosure for both public purposes and medical research. Within the parameters of this study, this outcome can be explained as the result of exposure to educational curriculum which contained information related to personal information protection. This increased education raised the student's awareness of which information is considered private, as well as, which information is valuable when responsibly shared. As a result, this study shows that an increase in education regarding information privacy, should be included in all university majors, and gives us evidence to support that this additional education is valuable to students at all levels and should be encouraged.
