We surveyed them by self-administered questionnaire and analyzed it by SPSS Win 19.0 program. Results: 1. For differences in periodontitis according to general characteristics, if th age is high, ratio of periodontitis is high. Married woman is higher than single one in ratio of periodontitis. Also the more number of birth, the higher ratio of periodontitis is.(p<.05) 2. For differences of periodontitis by dental care behavior, ratio of periodontitis of non-smokers is significantly low. For one that brush one's teeth broadside, the ratio of periodontitis is high.(p<.05) 3. For differences of periodontitis by use of dental clinic service, ratio of periodontitis of one that have more times visit to a dental clinic, more annual average cost for dental care, and regular dental check-ups is relatively low.(p<.05). 4. For determinant factors influencing on periodontitis, ratio of periodontitis of one that is old, have more stress, have a low level of education, and have preventive dental care is high. Ratio of periodontitis of one that have less toothbrushing and brush one's teeth after having lunch or a snack and before sleeping is significantly low. • The purpose of this study is to investigate the home-health-care workers licensing education course in Seoul, Korea. Based on the previous research, a conceptual model was suggested explaining the dynamics of perceived educational service quality (SERVQUAL), educational satisfaction and the occupational readiness. The data set for this study drawn from the 297 self-administered surveys were analyzed with the suggested conceptual model by utilizing AMOS program. The measurement models and conceptual model fit well with the collected data set. As results of this study, 5 domains of SERVQUAL were produced including accountability, trustiness, responsiveness, sympathy, and assurance. The results of structural modeling with latent variables confirmed that SERVQUAL were influenced perceived educational satisfaction as well as occupational readiness. Among the SERVQUAL domains, accountability, trustiness, responsiveness, and assurance had significant impacts on the educational satisfaction while accountability, trustiness and responsiveness had significant direct effects on the occupational readiness. The trustiness had significant indirect effects on the occupational readiness via the educational satisfaction. Hence, the educational satisfaction had the significant impacts on the occupational readiness. Based on the findings of this study, we suggest to intense the educational program or curricular focusing on the SERVQUAL elements. Those changes will enhance self-confidence among the prospective home-health-care workers as well as public trustiness on the national long-term care program.

  • Since the establishment of health centers in the 1960s, the centers have been played an important role in providing basic health care for the people. Although the health centers made a great effect to prevent diseases and promote the health status of the people for the last three decades, the function of health centers should be strengthened to meet the health care need of individual, family and community. Over the last ten years, there have been great changes and developments in health related environments, such as population size and age, rapid urbanization, up-grading of the educational level, increase of income, health care demand for promotive health care measures and practical measures for chronic diseases and also practicing healthy life. According to the great changes in health related environments, the health centers should be reformed. The following policy options are recommended as a summary; First, the function of health centers should be converted from providing basic health services into promotive and preventive health care services, to meet changing needs of people. Second, the health center personnel should be reinforced for their competency to provide a qualitative services to people and also the operation of health center should be reactivated. Third, a close linkage of health centers with the private sector is an essential requirement for the operation of the health care delivery system within a health district in order to improve the health status of people. Fourth, type of manpower mix, scope of organization and health care program should be varied, based on the health care needs of people, geographical characteristics and size of population etc. Fifth, a comprehensive health care delivery system should be developed, for maintaining healthy life style of people and also the health and welfare services should be integrated in order n ensure an effective service.

  • This study uses the life course perspective to analyze the health effects of care transition types on elderly persons who care for their spouses. To this end, the care transition types were divided into ① non-care→non-care, ② non-care→care, ③ care→care, and ④ care→non-care, and health was defined as physical health and the absence of depression. The study used the second through sixth datasets(2008-2016) from the Korea Longitudinal Study of Aging. This resulted in 10,199 observations from 3,987 persons, which were analyzed as a panel analysis model using the STATA16.0 program. The analysis found that physical health was lower in the non-care→care and care→non-care transition types than in the non-care→non-care type. Depression increased in the non-care→care and care→care types. These results suggest that practical and social measures are needed to improve physical health and depression in the elderly who are providing care for their spouses.
