  • The purpose of this study contains evaluation of techno-cyber fashion, specifically in the area of dancing costume which symbolize the stage performing art of techno-cyber fashion's formative elements. The way of study is to make foundation with the theory and picture backgrounds to analyze the fashion trends and finally produce symbolic dance costume which applies modern dance stage costume design to techno-cyber elements. The 'Adieu 1999' is the modern dance work contains social mood in retrospect of 20 century and prepare 21 century. To make design of dance costume, apply the simple geometrical pattern design which utilize techno-cyber element like hi-tech fabrics, see-through and image of band and finally produce costume both 20 and 21 century.

  • Longitudinal shell member that arranged block unit on 3D-curved surface is performed manual working by designer considering spacing of division characteristic, location and twisting at geometrical 3-dimensional form. Shell expansion drawing that drawn by initial design and shell landing work performed by hull production design have overlap of design work in terms of arrangement of shell longitudinal member. In this study, eliminate design overlap on shell member arrangement that is one of ship longitudinal member. Develop shell member optimization and auto arrangement system.

  • A suspension bridge with long span is distinguished by aesthetic point of view, but it is difficult to analyze the structural behaviors due to its geometric nonlinear characteristics. Futhermore, because the chance of design such special bridges is very rare, the assumption of initial dimensions of geometrical shapes and structural sections may be much difficult also. In this paper, the brief data base on the important structural dimensions of suspension bridges is constructed after the informations on existing suspension bridges are collected and classified from various texts and internet web sites. Therefore this data base may be utilized very easily by the designers who tries to design such bridges in the preliminary design step. Also the static geometric nonlinear analysis program is added to assist the designer in simple decision of safety check for assumed dimensions.

  • This study investigated aesthetic characters of textile design on the modern fashion in 1990s. 1. Spiritual desolation caused by modern society of high-technology made people be interested in ethnic image. 2. It was expressed aesthetic beauty by application of various kinds of art for more new and creative designs. 3. Resistance against environmental pollution or ecosystem destruction caused by scientific technology and industrial development pursed ecology, so lots of natural patterns were used. 4. It was persued beauty of simplicity and visual angels by using geometrical graphism. 5. Self-consciousness or resistance of period was expressed by deconstructive symbol. Accordingly, textile design is expressed related to the trend of modern fashion, the current thought of the times, social phenomenon and art. So we need various analysis on above factors. Then, it will be helpful to develope the creative and distinguished fashion design.

  • Despite of the growing number of built examples, the analysis of non-symmetrical cable-stayed bridges has not received considerable attention from the researchers. In fact, the effects of the main design parameters in the structural behavior of these bridges are not addressed in detail in the literature. To fill this gap, this paper studies the structural response of a number of non-symmetrical cable-stayed bridges. With this aim, a parametric analysis is performed to evaluate the effect of each of the main design parameters (the ratio between the main and the back span length, the pylon, the deck and backstay stiffnesses, the pylon inclination, and the stay configuration) of this kind of bridges. Furthermore, the role of the geometrical nonlinearity and the steel consumption in stays are evaluated.

  • This paper discusses the hull form generation from fuzzy model constructed with actual ship data using fuzzy concept. SAC, which is the most important factor in the hull form generation, is expressed by a fuzzy model describing the relationships among design parameters, which have a great influence on SAC, through model identification process with the actual ship data and design parameters. Then, we can infer the SAC of an aimed ship through the process of fuzzy inference and decide the offset of a front view by making the fuzzy model between SAC and offset as well. In conclusion, this paper makes a step forward from the geometrical definition, which has been used for hull form generation so far, to direct mathematical formulae about the relationship between design parameters and offset. So, if the design parameters are given, we can generate the hull form taking such properties into account.

  • This paper presents simple expressions for the effective permeability of bulk metamaterial consisting of ring resonators (RRs) or split ring resonators (SRRs) based on the convenient geometrical factors of the structure compared with wavelength. The resonant frequency dependence of the medium permeability, including loss effects, is analyzed in detail. Inverting the analysis equations, useful design (or synthesis) equations are derived for a systematic design process with some examples. This paper may particularly be useful for the design of a bulk metamaterial with a specific negative relative permeability at a desired frequency. The loss of metamaterials consisting of RRs (or SRRs) is also analyzed over a wide frequency band from 10 MHz to 10 THz.

  • Classical finite element programs are not well suited to the design of composite structures, because they are primarily analysis tools and need much time for the data input and as well as for the interpretation of the results. The aim of this paper is to develop a program which allows very fast analyses and reanalyses for design process, thanks to a fast reanalysis method with changes of data and conditions. Speed in the analysis Is obtained by simplification of the analysed structure and limitations in its geometrical generality and improvements in numerical methods. The use of the program is made easy with interactive user-friendly facilities.

  • The role of UCAV is to carry out various missions in hostile situations such as penetration and attack on the enemy territory. To this end, application of RF stealth technology is indispensable so as not to be caught by enemy radar. The X-47B UCAV with blended wing body configuration is a representative aircraft in which modern RCS reduction schemes are heavily applied. In this study, a model UCAV was first designed based on the X-47B platform and then an extensive RCS analysis was conducted to the model UCAV in the high-frequency regime using the Ray Launching Geometrical Optics (RL-GO) method. In particular, the effects of configuration of UCAV considering IR reduction on RCS were investigated. Finally, the effects of RAM optimized for the air intake of the model UCAV were analyzed.
