  • A reduction method of GSPN (generalized stochastic Petri net) is proposed. A GSPN is basically a SPN (stochastic Petri net) with transition a that are either timed or immediate. Then the proposed method is defined on the basis of the dynamic behavior and the structure of the net. The reduction preserves the properties such as liveness, boundedness, and allows easy analysis of the GSPN.

  • A generalized net is used to construct a model which describes the process of evaluation of the problems solved by students. The model utilizes the theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. The model can be used to simulate some processes, related to estimation of students' background.

  • The Purpose of this paper is to propose performance evaluation schemes of flexible manufacturing cell using a generalized stochastic Petri net. In the competitive and global manufacturing environment, to evaluate the feasibility and manufacturability of a product in the product design stage is highly required. Through this process, all the possible problems which may occur in the manufacturing stage can be fixed in early stage. The scheme of generalized stochastic Petri net utilizing both immediate and exponential distributed transitions are applied to model a manufacturing cell with flexible machines, material handler, transporter and buffers. Performance analyses are performed based on behavioral, structural and quantitative properties. A flexible manufacturing cell is evaluated using a Petri net simulator.

  • Generalized additive model(GAM) is the statistical model that resolves most of the problems existing in the traditional linear regression model. However, overfitting phenomenon can be aroused without applying any method to reduce the number of independent variables. Therefore, variable selection methods in generalized additive model are needed. Recently, Lasso related methods are popular for variable selection in regression analysis. In this research, we consider Group Lasso and Elastic net models for variable selection in GAM and propose an algorithm for finding solutions. We compare the proposed methods via Monte Carlo simulation and applying auto insurance data in the fiscal year 2005. lt is shown that the proposed methods result in the better performance.

  • The Purpose of this paper is to automate the representation of manufacturing line using Petri net model. In the manufacturing cell, the line can be represented using workflow which is composed of Bill of Material (BOM) and Bill of Processes (BOP). BOP shows the precedence of processes and the relationship between assembly and disassembly. As a modeling scheme, generalized stochastic Petri net is adopted. For a problem domain with flexible manufacturing cell, Petri net model is made and behavioral properties are analyzed.

  • This paper proposes an intelligent decision framework for update of the environment model using GSPN(generalized stochastic petri nets). The GSPN has several advantages over direct use of the Markov Process. The modeling, analysis, and performance evaluation are conducted on the mathematical basis. By adopting the probabilistic approach, our decision framework helps the robot to decide the time to update the map. The robot navigates autonomously for a long time in dynamic environments. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is useful for service robots which work semi-permanently and improves dependability of navigation in dynamic environments.

  • The cure characteristics of three kinds of naphthalene type epoxy resins(NET-OH, NET-MA, NET-Epoxy) with a 2-methyl imidazole(2MI) catalyst were investigated for preparing sheet epoxy molding compound(SEMC) for wafer level package(WLP) applications, comparing with diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A(DGEBA) and 1,6-naphthalenediol diglycidyl ether(NE-16) epoxy resin. The cure kinetics of these systems were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry with an isothermal approach, and the kinetic parameters of all systems were reported in generalized kinetic equations with diffusion effects. The NET-OH epoxy resin represented an n-th order cure mechanism as like NE-16 and DGEBA epoxy resins, however, the NET-MA and NET-Epoxy resins showed an autocatalytic cure mechanism. The NET-OH and NET-Epoxy resins showed higher cure conversion rates than DGEBA and NE-16 epoxy resins, however, the lowest cure conversion rates can be seen in the NET-MA epoxy resin. Although the NETEpoxy and NET-MA epoxy resins represented higher cure reaction conversions comparing with DGEBA and NE-16 resins, the NET-OH showed the lowest cure reaction conversions. It can be figured out by kinetic parameter analysis that the lowest cure conversion rates of the NET-MA epoxy resin are caused by lower collision frequency factor, and the lowest cure reaction conversions of the NET-OH are due to the earlier network structures formation according to lowest critical cure conversion.
