This study makes a general view of human-, natural environment, actual condition of use, management and administration of Sissinghurst castle garden and proposes the following directions for our model of herb industry, herb garden plan with the analysed results. 1) The location of herb garden should be selected at a place where Is close to scenic spots, sight-seeing place or big city and conveniently situated, 2) For the basic design of herb garden, the ecological features, human -, natural environment should be analysed and for the implementation of the plan, it should have variety and coordination to give the pleasure and appreciation to the users. 3) For the plan of herb garden, time limit system and number limit admission have to be introduced by calculating carrying capacity so that the user can have a comfortable atmosphere and the garden should be environment - friendly.

Objectives: In this study, we started to develop an indoor garden integrated IoT solution based on IAQ (indoor air quality) and interconnection with an environmental database for smart management of indoor gardens. The purpose of this study was to develop and apply an integrated solution for customized air purification from an indoor garden through big data analysis using IoT technology. Methods: An IoT-based IAQ monitoring system was established in three households within a new apartment building. Based on real-time and long-term data collected, $PM_{2.5}$, $CO_2$, temperature, and humidity changes were compared to those of indoor garden applications and the analyzed results were indexed. Results As a result of the installation, all three households had no results exceeding the standard for indoor air pollution on average $PM_{2.5}$ and $CO_2$ indices. In the case of indoor garden installation, the IAQ index increased to the "Good" section after the installation, and readings in the "Bad" section shown before the installation disappeared. The comfort index also did not dip into the "Uncomfortable" section, where it had been preinstallation, and significantly lowered the average score from "Uncomfortable for sensitive groups" to "Good". Overall, the IAQ composite index for the generation of installations decreased the "Good" interval, but "Bad" did not appear. Conclusions In this study on developing an integrated solution for IAQ based on IoT indoor gardens, big data was analyzed to determine IAQ and comfort indexes and an IAQ composite index. Through this process, it became understood that it is necessary to monitor IAQ based on IoT.

This study aimed to adaptive reuse plan a take advantage of Suncheon Bay Garden Expo 2013. Detailed objectives included: to identify and foster cultural and ecological resources in Suncheon Bay and Garden Expo Site; and to search and propose characterized program in the site for efficient utilization; and to revitalize a site for the vitalizations of the region where garden culture and garden industries for strengthening local competitiveness. The study was multi-phased. The first stage included basic surveys such as site status and environmental context analysis, and questionnaires and similar case studies, and the second stage was to review the direction of preliminary planning, develop associated industries and strategies for regional revitalization and review and incorporate project details. And the third stage aimed to develop a comprehensive plan from spatial plans and program plans and suggest plans to vitalize the operation of the site. The results of the study are as follows: First, the characterization strategy is 'healing experience tourism', 'healing garden', 'healing herbal care' are suitable for the site and regional revitalization. Second, the dimension of 2013 Suncheon Bay Garden Expo which was distinguished into four areas, in consideration of the characteristics and contents of the garden expo site for efficient operation and maintenance. Four area are as follows: the park oriented area, the experiential tourism oriented area, the existing conservation oriented area, and the area for associated industries. Third, the practice of private and public partnerships is needed in order to efficiently manage and operations. The significance of this study is that it is seeking to take advantage of the Garden Expo site and set the plan by existing resources and in consideration of local characteristics, in conjunction with area to envision and proposed management plan. Some problems are remained which have not been able to deal with details program and organization and financial planning programs for the operation of the site. This is for further study.

본 연구는 조경·정원분야 기후변화 대응을 위한 역할로서 자연기반해법의 실증을 위한 실험적 설계를 제시하고, 탄소중립 사회를 위한 공간 전략적 방안과 문화 산업으로서의 역할을 제시하는 목적으로 진행되었다. 환경 보호와 탄소중립 사회 형성을 목표로 저 관리형 정원으로서의 탄소저감 효과를 위한 전략을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 모델정원의 기능과 공간 요소, 탄소중립과 관련된 내용들을 보다 과학적인 데이터로 수집할 수 있도록 실질적 모델정원을 설계하고 조성하였다. 대상지는 국립세종수목원 내에 위치한다. 탄소저감 기능을 측정하는 실험구를 중심적으로 배치하며, 그 외 공간은 드라이가든과 커뮤니티 가든, 초화원 등으로 전시와 휴식을 할 수 있는 공간을 두었다. 실험구는 바이오차 부설 양, 식재밀도, 식재 수종에 따른 탄소저감 효과를 분석할 수 있게 타입을 구분하였다. 탄소저감을 위한 시설 적용과 시공 방식은 '지구를 위한 10가지 탄소정원 가꾸기'의 방식을 적용하였다. 대표적으로 빗물의 활용시설, 저탄소 인증 목재 활용, 인근지역 자재 사용을 적용하였다. 또한 각각의 시설 및 시공 방식에 따른 탄소저감 효과를 비교하여 제시하였다. 이 결과는 탄소중립 사회를 실현하기 위한 대응 방안을 모색하는 데에 중요한 기초 연구가 될 것으로 기대되며, 정원 산업 등 지속 가능한 발전이 필요한 다양한 분야에서의 참고가 될 것으로 기대한다.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to develop the one-session positive psychology based strength enhancing workshop and verify effect of this program. This program is composed of lecture based on positive psychology and activities for identifying and utilizing personal character strengths. Methods : Total 81 participants were participated in this study. Positive Resources Test was assessed the change of personal positive resources at pre-, post program and subjective satisfaction for the workshop was measured at the post program. Repeated-t test was performed to identify the effect of this program. Results : Among the positive resources, satisfaction with life, positive affect, gratitude, acceptance, personal growth, efficacy, flow, resilience, hope, spirituality are significantly increased after program. Conclusion : Although this study is a single-session program without control group for comparison, it is meaningful to try a short-term intervention concise the program consisting of more than 8 sessions. This study will be based on the future development a variety of positive interventions.

This study examines the development and management of the Herb Island in Japan, and explores influences of the herb garden on a rural community. The result suggested that the development of a herb garden can make a major impact on a rural community's econmoic stability and growth, and low-input cultivation of herbs serves to the ecosystem and soil conservation. In order to foster the herb industry in Korea, three aspcets should be considered. These are as follows. 1. Selection of suitable kinds of herbs and sites for Korean natural environment,and planning for proper landuse should be carried out first. 2. Proper policies for a herb garden to help local economy should be established. 3. Development of programs and experts on environmental education should be included in planning herb gardens in order to contribute to natural environment preservation.

This study surveys the herb industry, which plays an important role in the economy activation of the advanced countries, and by which Choongbuk, as one of local authorities, makes the first attempt in Korea. It describes the direction of the policy and application, came to a conclusion as follows. 1. Choongbuk is arranging a Herb garden as the first step in connection with the exsiting plan, It could be highly rated because there has been no example yet in korea and therefore it could involve risks. 2. The selection of site will be decided by the Do-authorities considering traffic network and accessibility. Therefore Shi and Gun authorities could have a passive and formal attitude for this policy. 3. The size of the herb garden, by modeling Japanese and European herb garden, will be 15000 pyung(4545m), From the point of view it is a start, the herb garden has still tasks to solve, e.g. lack of experience, organizational and technological problems.

본 연구의 목적은 반려식물 키트 산업의 현황을 파악하고, 산업 활성화를 위한 지원 정책 우선순위를 알아보는 것이다. SWOT 분석을 통해 반려식물 키트 산업의 현황을 진단하였고, 산업 활성화를 위한 지원 정책 우선순위 파악을 위해 반려식물 키트 산업 종사자를 대상으로 계층분석을 활용하였다. SWOT 분석 결과, SO 전략으로는 정부의 지원 정책을 활용하여 마케팅을 강화하고 친환경 이미지와 DIY 키트를 결합한 제품을 개발하는 것이며, WO 전략으로는 시장 인지도를 높이기 위한 광고 캠페인을 전개하고 유통망 확장을 위한 전략적 파트너십을 구축하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, ST 전략으로는 경제 불확실성에 대응하여 가격 경쟁력을 강화하고 경쟁 제품 대비 차별화된 고유 가치를 제안하는 것이며, WT 전략으로는 비용 절감을 위한 생산 공정을 개선하고 소비자 피드백을 반영하여 제품품질을 개선하는 것으로 나타났다. AHP 분석 결과 총 3개의 상위항목과 12개의 하위항목으로 구성한 평가 항목을 도출하였고, 전문가 설문을 통해 총 17부의 데이터를 수집하였다. 분석 결과, '진입 단계' (0.482), '활성화 단계' (0.397), '고도화 단계' (0.121) 순의 중요도가 도출되었다. 또한 '간담회 개최'(0.181)가 가장 중요한 하위항목으로 나타났으며, '키트 개발 지원'(0.020)은 상대적으로 낮은 중요도를 보였다. 반려식물 키트 산업은 정원 산업 발전을 위한 초기 단계 사업으로 적절한 정책적 인큐베이팅은 정원 산업 활성화에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 반려식물 키트 산업 활성화를 위한 산업계의 수요에 대한 기초 정보를 제공할 수 있다.

There are many problems that occur currently in agriculture industries. The problems such as unexpected of changing weather condition, lack of labor, dry soil were some of the reasons that may cause the growth of the plants. Condition of the weather in local area is inconsistent due to the global warming effect thus affecting the production of the crops. Furthermore, the loss of farm labor to urban manufacturing jobs is also the problem in this industry. Besides, the condition for the plant like air humidity, air temperature, air quality index, and soil moisture are not being recorded automatically which is more reason for the need of implementation system to monitor the data for future research and development of agriculture industry. As of this, we aim to provide a solution by developing IoT-based platform along with the irrigation for increasing crop quality and productivity in agriculture field. We aim to develop a smart garden system environment which the system is able to auto-monitoring the humidity and temperature of surroundings, air quality and soil moisture. The system also has the capability of automating the irrigation process by analyzing the moisture of soil and the climate condition (like raining). Besides, we aim to develop user-friendly system interface to monitor the data collected from the respective sensor. We adopt an open source hardware to implementation and evaluate this research.

Background and objective: This study was conducted to examine the effects of the theme-based garden book (photo book) making integration program on social skills and self-determination of college students with developmental disabilities. Methods: We analyzed the changes in social skills and self-determination of college students with developmental disabilities. The first step was defining the theme-based garden book (photo book) making integration program, which was done by focus group interviews (FGI) comprised of specialists in the industry and academia. The second step was carrying out 8 sessions of the program. The third step was examining the effects of the program on social skills and self-determination of college students with developmental disabilities. The participants of this study were 36 college students with developmental disabilities attending N University, and 17 students were in the experiment group and the other 19 in the control group. Results: The control group showed no statistically significant changes in the three sub-domains of social skills, while the experimental group showed statistically significant differences across all three sub-domains, such as cooperation(P < .05), assertion(P < .05), and self-control(P < .05). The experimental group, that participated in the program showed statistically significant differences across all four sub-domains of self-determination skills, such as behavior (P < .05), cognition(P < .05), school support(P < .05) and home support(P < .05). This proved that the theme-based garden book (photo book) making program contributed to bringing positive effects to self-determination and social skills. Conclusion: These results suggest that the theme-based garden book (photo book) making integration program could improve self-determination and social skills of college students with developmental disabilities. These positive changes are related to the high level of interest in theme-based garden design programs among college students with developmental disabilities, and thus these programs can be used effectively to improve social adjustment.
