The purpose of this paper is to analyze storytelling in on-line personal game broadcasting in order to find out unique characteristics of on-line personal game broadcasting. This study selects Youtube channel and as classic cases of on-line personal game broadcasting, and analyzes the cases with Bakhtin's theory of carnival. The on-line personal game broadcasting modifies the broadcasting format of mass media externally. Also, the on-line personal game broadcasting internally moves between interior and exterior of the game text in order to create new narrative events. In this process, the polyphonic utterances of the broadcasting host appeared. The reversal of the tragedy and the comedy leads the audience to catharsis.

The purpose of this study is to attempt to interpret golf courses as event-generating spaces with consideration given to the time factor. Through a golf game, a variety of events such as the tee shot, second shot, putt, and hole out are generated. These events have been connected to a series of events after hole out such as birdie, par, bogey and so on. The series of events do not always occur in the same way. They reveal unexpected changes over time. These unexpected changes cause changes in the spatial characteristics and offer unforgettable memories for golfers. Gilles Deleuze mentioned the spatial characteristics as striated space and smooth space. Striated space can be defined as sedentary space. It is distant vision-optical space that has dimensional, metric and centered characteristics, whereas smooth space is defined as nomadic, close vision-haptic space that has directional and acentered characteristics. This study focused on the analysis of spatial characteristics according to striated space and smooth space. Golf courses generally show the characteristics of striated space before beginning the game. As soon as the game begins, however, the golf courses are converted into an event-generating space. The characteristics of striated space are transformed into smooth space, a nomadic space that amplifies the dynamic, changeable, de-scaled and non-metric system. Through the whole game, this transformation is dramatically repeated. On the other hand, the golfer, the subject of the game, senses the phenomenological experience in the process of orientation, center, definition, and domestication.
Due to the advent of high performance feature-phone and smart-phone, the scale of mobile games and the member of developers are increased rapidly. The production process of mobile games is changing to meet these needs. Tools for efficient program development are produced worldwide, but tool's research for the event direction is inadequate. In the event direction, the game designers play more important roles than programmers. In this paper, we develop the mobile game event direction tool for game designers. And we make the events of the released mobile games to test the efficiency and usefulness of tool that we developed. The result shows that the performance is enhanced about 15% in development period.
Based on a complex event processing technique, an abuse pattern monitoring method is developed to provide an real-time detection. CEP is a technique to find complex event pattern in a massive information system. In this study, the events occurred by game-play are observed to be against the rules using CEP. User abuse patterns are pre-registered in CEP engine. And CEP engine monitors user abuse after aggregating the game data transferred by game logging server.
MIDI use interface to transmit among the Electronic Musical Instrument. We use signal to happen in MIDI Controllor by player and study the expansion user interface different from existing input device(Keyboard, Mouse, Joy stick etc..) to game about the usage the MIDI data.
In this paper, we propose a method and a software system for automatic summarization of baseball game videos. The proposed system pursues fast execution and high accuracy of summarization. To satisfy the requirement, the detection of important events in baseball video is performed through DC-based shot boundary detection algorithm and simple caption recognition method. Furthermore, the proposed system supports a hierarchical description so that users can browse and navigate videos in several levels of summarization. To enable effective notification and promotion of the food poisoning prevention, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) developed a mobile augmented reality (AR) game called 'Sik-Jung-Dok-Jop GO', and demonstrated the game at 11 events including Food Safety Day. At the events, we have conducted a field survey of people who have played the game, and evaluated the awareness change of the food poisoning before and after the game. The level of the respondents' awareness about the 3 methods of the food poisoning prevention has been increased by 53 percent after playing the game, the level of awareness about individual food poisoning micro-organism has been improved by 2.1 times. According to the survey, 95% at the respondents answered that the game helped them understand the food poisoning more, and 90% of the respondents said that they enjoyed the game. In conclusion, we believe that 'Sik-Jung-Dok-Jop GO' will be able to create various educative effects on prevention of food poisoning including causative foods, main symptoms, and other related knowledge when the game is widely applied to students in kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools.
Recently, an interest in mobile games is increasing according to the extension of the high speed network infra and the development of mobile devices. In the paper, we propose a mobile Stouku game which trains a brain. The proposed game is user-oriented play style that the game users can raise their characters theirselves. It gives users a sense of achievement and can also help improve intelligence by becoming familiar with a numeral. The game raises an awareness and immersion by adding various events and lowering the degree of difficulty more than previews games. In the paper, we demonstrate the proposed Sudoku game in the mobile device and present the result.
In this study of effective game localization, we attempt to gauge the influence of characteristics on the translation of the texts in games. In general, the characters in the games that feature interactive story-telling structure have a huge impact on events that occur in the games. Additionally, in case the origin of the characters are closely connected with either cultural factors or symbolisms, the relation between characters and stories tends to be stronger. In this research, the characteristics of the characters in the game 'Lobotomy Corporation' - featuring characteristics based on 'The Tree of Sepiroth' of Kabbalah - will be analyzed in depth; then, the result will lead us to suggest the method of proper translation in order to show how to localize the games effectively in future.
The interaction property of digital media have changed traditional storytelling into a new concept, digital-storytelling, which has been widely accepted. Nowadays open-ended game storytelling, which different from story design of movie or animation, is chosen for the development of RPG. It can make infinite stories according to player character's decision. In this paper, we propose a game storytelling structure focused on the characters for RPG, and analyze how characters designed with various story-values interact with background stories and events in the cyber game world through case studies. This research is necessary to design predictable game mechanics and provide methods to control game play in case of special-purpose game.
