  • In this paper, we propose a fuzzy controller for the evaluation of the quantization parameters in the H.263 coder. Our method adopts the Mamdani method for fuzzification and adopts the centroid method for defuzzification respectively. The inputs are variance, entropy in the spatial domain, current motion vector and previous motion vector in the temporal. Fuzzy variables are determined to be compatible in visual characteristics and fuzzy membership function is induced and then, FAM banks are designed to reduce the number of rules. In this paper, fuzzy quantization has been applied to a practical video compression. This results show that the quality of decode image enhances and the rate control method using fuzzy quantization is effective.

  • In this paper, we introduce certain types of continuous functions and intuitionistic fuzzy ${\theta}$-compactness in intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces. We show that intuitionistic fuzzy ${\theta}$-compactness is strictly weaker than intuitionistic fuzzy compactness. Furthermore, we show that if a topological space is intuitionistic fuzzy retopologized, then intuitionistic fuzzy compactness in the new intuitionistic fuzzy topology is equivalent to intuitionistic fuzzy ${\theta}$-compactness in the original intuitionistic fuzzy topology. This characterization shows that intuitionistic fuzzy ${\theta}$-compactness can be related to an appropriated notion of intuitionistic fuzzy convergence.

  • A biologically inspired fuzzy multilayer perceptron is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm is established under consideration of biological neuronal structure as well as fuzzy logic operation. We applied this suggested learning algorithm to benchmark problem in neural network such as exclusive OR and 3-bit parity, and to digit image recognition problems. For the comparison between the existing and proposed neural networks, the convergence speed is measured. The result of our simulation indicates that the convergence speed of the proposed learning algorithm is much faster than that of conventional backpropagation algorithm. Furthermore, in the image recognition task, the recognition rate of our learning algorithm is higher than of conventional backpropagation algorithm.

  • In this paper, we consider Lebesgue-type theorems in non-additive measure theory and then investigate interval-valued Choquet integrals and interval-valued fuzzy integral with respect to a additive monotone set function. Furthermore, we discuss the equivalence among the Lebesgue's theorems, the monotone convergence theorems of interval-valued fuzzy integrals with respect to a monotone set function and find some sufficient condition that the monotone convergence theorem of interval-valued Choquet integrals with respect to a monotone set function holds.

  • In this research work, by using the random resolvent operator techniques associated with random ($A_t$, ${\eta}_t$, $m_t$)-monotone operators, is to established an existence and convergence theorems for a class of fuzzy system of random nonlinear equations with fuzzy mappings in Hilbert spaces. Our results improve and generalized the corresponding results of the recent works.

  • The objective of this paper is to design a adaptive fuzzy controller for autonomous navigation of mobile robot. The adaptive fuzzy controller has an advantage in data processing time and convergence speed. The basic idea of control is to induct membership function and fuzzy inference rules and to scale inducted membership function to suitable robot state. The adaptive fuzzy control method is applied to mobile robot and the simulation results show the effectiveness of our controller.

  • In this paper, a new scheme of iterative loaming control of a robot manipulator is presented. The proposed method uses a fuzzy sliding mode controller(FSMC), which is designed based on the similarity between the fuzzy logic control(FLC) and the sliding mode control(SMC), for the feedback. With this, the proposed method makes possible fDr fast iteration and has advantages that no linear approximation is used for the derivation of the learning law or in the stability proof Full proof of the convergence of the fuzzy sliding base learning scheme Is given.

  • In recently, Popova and Wu(1999) proved a theorem which presents the long-run average fuzzy reward per unit time. In this note, we improve this result. Indeed we will show uniform convergence of a renewal reward processes with respect to the level ${\alpha}$ modeled as a fuzzy random variables.

  • Block Jacobi and Gauss-Seidel iterative methods are studied for solving $n{\times}n$ fuzzy linear systems. A new splitting method is considered as well. These methods are accompanied with some convergence theorems. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the theory.
