본 임상사례에서 보는 것처럼 틱, 뚜렛장애에서도 FCST의 음양균형장치와 골반균형기법(PBT), 침치료 등 구조적 치료를 통해서도 유의한 치료변화가 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다.

Objectives : Functional Cerebrospinal Therapy (FCST) is a new physiologic therapeutics developed in Korea as a meridian yinyang balance approach. The theory of yinyang balance has been at the core of health enhancement approach of meridian and acupuncture medicine ever since its start. Methods : Introductory overview of FCST is presented in relation with meridian yinynag balance theory. Results : As the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and related tissues have direct interconnection with brainstem proprioceptive or motor systems and the face is where all the meridians converge, FCST applies a fine adjustment of the posture of TMJ as a treatment tool for neurologic conditions or meridian imbalances. Conclusions : Highly sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to adjust various subset aspects of yinyang balance are developed within FCST, which is supposed to be one of major contributions to natural healing.

Objectives: Functional Cerebrospinal Therapy (FCST) is a rather new physiologic therapeutics. It has passed about two decades since its basic idea was founded. This study briefly reviewed its early history. Methods: The first FCST patient was a stroke patient in the year 1992. Basic ideas of FCST was devised one by one and later developed into a systematic clinical application. The first official lecture was held in the year 2004. Yinyang balance in the meridian-system-based network over the whole body was a mainstay idea. Results: As other stories on newly-developed therapeutics, there was an effort to make a breakthrough for difficult clinical problems, and followed by a creative initial idea along with incessant refinement in the early history of FCST. Conclusions: Patient-centered approaches was a mainspring in the development and refinement of FCST. History of FCST hereafter may well follow the trace.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to review main symptoms of outpatient in Lee young Jun clinics who developed the functional cerebrospinal therapy and to investigate the therapeutic effects on one time application of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST). Methods: Patients who visited at least twice at an oriental medical clinic and treated with FCST were included. They were asked to write 216 numeric rating scale (NRS)-based questionnaire about degree of various symptoms at each visit. Prevalence and degree decrease of all reported symptoms were analyzed. Results: Total of 744 outpatients were included. There were fourteen symptoms of which more than half of all patients commonly complained. All symptoms were significantly reduced after one administration of FCST. About four to seven percent of patients reported at least five-point reduction on NRS in each symptom after FCST. Conclusions: FCST might have potential immediate effect on not only TMJ related symptoms, but also diverse kinds of pain, psychological symptoms, and fatigue-related symptoms.

Methods: Two Tourette's Disorder cases were managed with the Yinyang Balancing Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was based on subjective measures and clinical observations. Results: The patients showed positive changes even after the initial treatment and this effect maintained over the follow-up period. Conclusions: Although it is not clear the effect is a sustaining or temporary in its nature, a positive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

Objectives : Therapeutic effect of Balance Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in a refractory torticollis case. Methods : A post-traumatic severe torticollis case with 18 years of duration was managed by the Balance Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture and manual medicine. Results : Assessment was made by self assessment of subjective symptoms and clinical observacon. The patient reported over-90% remission and returned to ordinary daily life after 20months of therapy, which effect was reported to maintain for 9 months. Conclusions : An impressive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

구강내장치를 통한 자세조절훈련과 관련해 턱관절의 다차원적인 균형치료를 적용함에 따라 중쇠뼈 치돌기 및 가시돌기의 위치균형과 경추정렬이 변화되는 것이 방사선촬영상 실증적으로 관찰되었다.
