다른 친수성능을 가진 두 표면에서의 착상에 관한 연구 (A Study of Frost Formation on Different Hydrophilic Surfaces)

  • An experimental study has been conducted to investigate the effects of surface energy on frost formation. Test samples with two different surfaces are installed in a wind tunnel and exposed to a humid airflow. Dynamic contact angles (DCA) for these surfaces are $23^{\circ}\;and\;88^{\circ}$, respectively. The thickness and the mass of frost layer are measured and used to calculate the frost density while frost formation is visualized simultaneously with their measurements. Results show that frost density increases as time increases at specific test conditions. The air Reynolds number, the airflow humidity and the cold plate temperature are maintained at 12,000, 0.0042 kg/kg and $-21^{\circ}C$, respectively. The surface with a lower DCA shows a higher frost density during two-hour test, but no differences in the frost density have been found after two hours of frost generation. Empirical correlations for thickness, mass and density are assumed to be the functions of the test time and DCA.

Fin and Temperature Effect of Frost in Ambient Air Vaporizer

  • Since liquefied natural gas (LNG) is imported in a liquid state of about -162℃ to increase transportation efficiency in Korea, it must be vaporized in a gaseous state to supply it to consumers. Among them, ambient air vaporizer (AAV) has caught attention due to eco-friendly and low costs characteristics. However, there is a disadvantage that the performance of the heat exchanger is deteriorated due to frost due to mist and icing when used for a long time. In this paper, frost generation model in AAV vaporizer was investigated with numerically to examine utilizing the vaporizer performance with the frost generation behavior. The frost generation behavior of AAV vaporizers was examined with humidity, fin characteristic, and temperature effects. As for the LNG discharge temperature, the 12 fin vaporizer showed the highest discharge temperature when the atmospheric temperature was 25℃, and the 8 fin vaporizer had the lowest LNG discharge temperature when the atmospheric temperature was 0℃. In the case of frost formation, in the case of the 12 fin vaporizer, it was formed the most at the atmospheric temperature of 25℃, and the least was formed in the vaporizer at the 0℃ condition of the atmospheric temperature of 8 fins.

  • Refrigerators have some frost related problems in a freezing compartment. The frost formation in the refrigerator gives customers a bad impression concerning quality problems. Therefore, many engineers have been studying the optimum solution to avoid frost formation. But the problem of frost formation is very complex and hard to approach to the answer. The frost generation of a household refrigerator have been widely known that is closely related to the distribution of temperature inside the compartment. The distribution depends on the cold air circulation inside the refrigerator. So frost problem can be reduced and energy consumption efficiency also improved through optimization of air flow fields inside the freezing compartment. In this paper, numerical simulation has been carried out to check fluid flow. The variation of temperature at the walls was measured and quantitative analysis of frost generated from the freezing compartment was carried out. Through comparison between simulation and experiment, some correlation revealed.

착상 거동예측을 위한 이론적 모델 (The theoretical Model for predicting the behaviors of the frost formation)

  • A theoretical model of the frost formation has been presented to investigate the characteristics of the growth of frost layer by considering molecular diffusion of water vapor and heat generation caused by sublimation of water vapor in the frost layer. The present model was compared with existing experimental data as well as a previous model. The difference between the present model and existing experimental data was found to be about 6 percent. An analysis for the behavior of frost formation using present model shows a good agreement with the trend for a number of experimentally observed features. The present analysis can also provide the physical understanding on the phenomena of the frost formation.

양문형 냉장고 냉동실 결빙원인해석 및 최소화 방안 (Investigation on Freezing in the Freezing Compartment of a Side by Side Refrigerator)

  • A side by side refrigerator is popularly used one among electric home appliances according to the rise of the customer's living standard. But the frost problem in freezing compartment comes out whenever we develop the high quality refrigerator. In this research, internal flow simulation and temperature measurement were carried out by using CFD and T-type thermocouple respectively in order to understand freezing mechanism. It was revealed that the amount of frost beneath the 1st and 2nd shelves is approximately 40% of total frost and the cause of frost generation is due to bad circulation of low speed cold flow. Using this analysis, the shapes of outlets under shelves are modified. So, the amount of frost in this modified model decreases 6% comparing to original one.

And brine temperature in the copper tube was kept -15$^{circ}C$ because, generally cooling temperature range is constantly -15$^{circ}C$ in the heat exchanger for air conditioning system. in conclusion, through this experiment, we did compare with frost layer and frost thickness in each condition and examine these data

  • 이 실험의 목적은 튜브형 증발관에서 입구 공기 속도, 온도와 상대 습도에 따른 서리층 생성의 비교 검토에 있다. 입구 공기 속도와 온도는 각각 $0.3^m/_s,\;0.6^m/_s,\;0.9^m/_s,\;15^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C,\;25^{\circ}C$로 하였고, 상대 습도는 $70\%\~90\%$로 하였다. 그리고 일반적인 공조기용 열교환기에서의 서리발생 현상을 파악하기 위하여 냉각튜브의 온도를 $-15^{\circ}C$로 일정하게 유지하였다. 그 결과 공급공기의 상대습도, 유속 및 온도가 증가할수록 서리 생성량이 증가함을 알 수 있었다.

머신러닝을 사용한 서리 예측 연구 (A study on frost prediction model using machine learning)

  • 서리는 표면 근처의 공기의 이슬점 온도가 빙점 이하일 때 수증기가 승화, 응축되어 땅이나 물체에 얼게 되는 작은 얼음 결정체이다. 서리가 내리면 농작물이 직접 피해를 입는다. 농작물이 낮은 온도에 접촉하면 조직이 얼어서 세포막이나 엽록체가 딱딱해지고 파괴되거나 건조한 세포가 죽습니다. 2020년 7월, 세계 최대 커피 생산국인 브라질 미나스제라이스 주에 갑작스러운 영하의 날씨와 서리가 내려 지역 커피 나무의 약 30%가 피해를 입었다. 이로 인해 피해로 커피값이 크게 올랐고, 피해가 심각한 농가는 농작물이 회복되기까지 3년이 걸리기 때문에 2024년에야 커피를 생산할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 심한 서리가 내리는 것을 방지하기 위해 기상청이 제공하는 서리 발생 데이터와 기상관측 데이터를 이용해 서리를 예측하려고 했다. 관측 지점의 고도 및 풍속, 온도, 습도, 강수량, 흐림 등의 기상 요인을 반영하여 모델을 구축하였다. XGB, SVM, Random Forest, MLP 모델을 사용하여 다양한 하이퍼 파라미터를 학습 데이터로 적용하여 각 모델에 가장 적합한 모델을 선택하였다. 마지막으로, 결과는 테스트 데이터에서 정확도(acc)와 중요 성공 지수(CSI)로 평가되었다. XGB는 90.4%의 acc와 64.4%의 CSI로 다른 모델에 비해 최고의 모델이었고, SVM은 89.7%의 acc와 61.2%의 CSI로 그 뒤를 이었다. 랜덤 포레스트와 MLP는 약 89%의 acc와 약 60%의 CSI로 비슷한 성능을 보였다.

  • As a general rule for evaluating dependability of a system, reliability is commonly considered which barely rays attention to the system behavior, however the estimation is based on the assumption of a fault-frost system, which may be impracticable and inaccurate especially for complicated system. This paper introduces a security and dependability integrated approach to analyze the availability of a fault-active system both from dependability and security points of view. Two fault modes involved are discussed about the impairment to the system reliance. The approach can be well applied to estimate and quantify the attribute of system robustness with the help of Markov chain process, which is good at solving status related problem. The comparison result between dual system and IEC61850-based almighty backup system is shown to sup-port the suggested approach.
