Facile Synthesis of Dendritic-Linear-Dendritic Materials by Click Chemistry

  • General, fast, and efficient stitching methods are presented for the synthesis of Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendrimers with linear units at a core, as a preliminary investigation for the synthesis of dendritic-linear-dendritic materials. The synthetic strategy involved an inexpensive, 1,3-dipolar, cycloaddition reaction between an alkyne and an azide in the presence of the Cu(I) species, which is known as the best example of click chemistry. The linear core building blocks, 1,7-octadiyne and 1,6-diazidohexane, were chosen to serve as the alkyne and azide functionalities for dendrimer growth via click reactions with the azide and alkyne-dendrons, respectively. These two building blocks were employed together with the azide- and alkyne-functionalized Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendrons in a convergent strategy to synthesize two kinds of Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendrimers with different linear core units. This comparative efficiency of the click methodology supports the fast and efficient synthesis of dendritic-linear-dendritic materials with the tailor made core unit.

  • 선형 PEG단위를 덴드리머의 중심에 갖는 덴드리머의 합성을 위한 효율적인 연결 방법이 개발되었다. 합성전략은 알카인과 아자이드기 사이의 반응을 구리(1)촉매의 존재하에서 진행하는 클릭화학을 이용하였다. 덴드리머의 핵으로 작용할 수 있는 단위체인 옥타(에틸렌글리콜)디아자이드와 도데카(에틸렌글리콜)디아자이드를 합성하였고, 이 두 화합물의 아자이드기는 덴드리머의 형성에 이용되었다. 두 디아자이드화합물을 알카인 덴드론과 클릭 반응을 통해서 덴드리머의 핵의 선형 길이가 다른 두 종류의 덴드리머 제조에 대한 수렴형 합성법을 완성하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 캔달의 타우(Kendall's tau)의 다차원으로의 확장과 그의 통계적 추론 및 해석에 대해 알아본다. 특히 다차원 캔달의 타우가 음의 값을 가질 때 의미를 해석하기 위해, 그것의 하한이 얻어지는 경우를 직관적으로 이해할 수 있도록 변수들간의 관계의 관점에서 설명하여본다. 또한 다차원 캔달의 타우를 실제 사례에 적용해 본후, 최근 Lee와 Ahn에서 연구된 d-countermonotonicity와 partially m-countermonotonic와 같은 새로운 개념을 통하여 캔달의 타우가 음의 값이 가질 때의 의미에 대해서 논의한다.

  • 프레체형태 덴드리머의 합성을 위한 연결 방법이 알카인기와 아지드기 사이의 클릭 화학을 이용하여 개발되었다. 덴드리머의 핵으로 작용할 수 있는 단위체인 4,4'-(3,5-비스(아지도프로필옥시)벤질옥시)비스페닐이 알카인덴드론과 클릭 반응을 통해 덴드리머의 구축을 위해 사용되었다. 즉, 구리촉매 존재하에서 다중(아지드)화합물과 말단 알킨기를 가지는 폴리(벤질에테르)덴드론 사이치 클릭 반응을 통해 덴드리머의 합성 전략이 완성되었다.

  • Taylor's formula is a powerful tool in analysis. In this study, we assume that an operator is m-times Fr$\acute{e}$chet-differentiable and satisfies a Lipschitz condition. We then obtain some Taylor formulas using only the Lipschitz constants. Applications are also provided.

  • We consider the iterative solution of a quadratic matrix equation with special coefficient matrices which arises in the quasibirth and death problem. In this paper, we show that the elementwise minimal positive solvent of the quadratic matrix equations can be obtained using Newton's method if there exists a positive solvent and the convergence rate of the Newton iteration is quadratic if the Fr$\acute{e}$chet derivative at the elementwise minimal positive solvent is nonsingular. Although the Fr$\acute{e}$chet derivative is singular, the convergence rate is at least linear. Numerical experiments of the convergence rate are given.

  • General, fast, and efficient stitching methods for the synthesis of dendrimers with linear PEG units at a core, as dendritic-linear-dendritic materials, were developed. The synthetic strategy involved the click reaction between an alkyne and an azide. The linear core building blocks, three dialkyne-PEG units, were chosen to serve as the alkyne functionalities for dendrimer growth via click reactions with the azide-dendrons. These three building blocks were employed together with the azide-functionalized Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendrons in a convergent strategy to synthesize the Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendrimers with different linear core units. Their structure of dendrimers was confirmed by $^1H$ and $^{13}C$ NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and GPC analysis.

A NOTE ON SPACES DETERMINED BY CLOSURE-LIKE OPERATORS

  • In this paper, we study some classes of spaces determined by closure-like operators $[{\cdot}]_s$, $[{\cdot}]_c$ and $[{\cdot}]_k$ etc. which are wider than the class of $Fr{\acute{e}}chet-Urysohn$ spaces or the class of sequential spaces and related spaces. We first introduce a WADS space which is a generalization of a sequential space. We show that X is a WADS and k-space iff X is sequential and every WADS space is C-closed and obtained that every WADS and countably compact space is sequential as a corollary. We also show that every WAP and countably compact space is countably sequential and obtain that every WACP and countably compact space is sequential as a corollary. And we show that every WAP and weakly k-space is countably sequential and obtain that X is a WACP and weakly k-space iff X is sequential as a corollary.

Facile Synthesis of Aldehyde-focal Fréchet Type Dendrons and Dendrimers via Staudinger/Aza-Wittig Reactions

  • Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendritic benzaldehydes were efficiently synthesized using 3,5-dihydroxybenzaldehyde as an aldehyde focal point functionalized unit by adding a generation to the existing dendron or direct oxidation of Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendritic benzyl alcohols. These dendritic benzaldehydes were applied for the construction of dendrimers containing secondary amines as connectors via Staudinger/aza-Wittig Reactions with ${\alpha}$,${\alpha}'$,-diazidop-xylene core.

  • 덴드리머의 중심에 삼발이 핵을 갖는 덴드리머의 합성을 위한 효율적인 연결 방법이 개발되었다. 합성전략은 알데히드 덴드론과 아자이드기를 갖는 삼발이 핵 사이의 반응을 톨루엔 용매와 triphenylphosphine 존재하에서 진행하는 새로운 클릭화학(Staudinger/aza-Wittig 반응)을 이용하였다. 덴드리머의 삼발이 핵으로 작용할 수 있는 단위체인 1,3,5-tris-(3-azido-propoxy)-benzene을 합성하였고, 이 화합물의 아자이드기는 덴드리머의 형성에 이용되었다. 1,3,5-Tris-(3-azido-propoxy)-benzene을 이용하여 알데히드 덴드론과 Staudinger/aza-Wittig 반응을 통해 덴드리머를 합성하였으며, 모든 덴드리머는 높은 수득률로 얻어졌다.
