하이데거의 Dwelling의 의미에 관한 연구;C. Norberg-Schulz와 M. Cacciari의 해석을 중심으로 (The Study on the meaning of Heidegger's Dwelling;Focused on the interpretations of C. Norberg-Schulz and M. Cacciari)

  • Dwelling refers to a way of being that has to do with a cautious and guarded attitude. What has to be nurtured and preserved is the dweller's relationship with the fourfold of heaven and earth, divinities and mortals. This leads to the fourfold definition that mortals dwell insofar as they save the earth, receive heaven as heaven, await the divinities as divinities, and are capable of death as death. Heidegger sees the thing as the concrescence of what he calls the fourfold of earth, sky, mortals, and divinities. For Heidegger, true being means to be open to the fourfold, to tend the fourfold in its essence. C. Norberg-Schulz takes as his starting point Heidegger's notion of the thing as that in which the fourfold is assembled. The built space must be organized in a way that concrete places are created, places that are characterized by a specific genius loci. This idea refers to life in the warm seclusion of a traditional community, but is much less applicable to the functional networks and relationships that determine life in a modem society. Cacciari thinks that what is worth questioning is in particular the condition of homelessness perceived by Heidegger, and the possible consequences of this situation for architecture. The aim of this paper is to study the meaning of dwelling through Heidegger's concept of dwelling and the interpretations of C. Norberg-Schulz and M. Cacciari about it.

활성슬러지공정의 수리학적 충격부하 반응 (Hydraulic Shock Load Response of Activated Sludge Process)

  • The objective of study was to examine to transient response of hydraulic shock loading in activated sludge process for treatment of municipal sewage. The general experiment approach was to operate the system under steady-state(pre-shock), then to apply step changes during 24hours in fourfold hydraulic shock loading at the same organic loading. Performance was assessed in both the transient state and the new steady-state(post-shock). Three bench scale activated sludge reactors were operated to investigate the effect of fourfold hydraulic shock loading on TSS and COD removal efficiency. In activated sludge reactors operated with 13hours and 7hours of HRT, effluent quality of all reactors was not changed for few effects, and also showed no foaming and no sludge bulking. Those results are the same as sludge withdrawn reactors. The effect of fourfold hydraulic shock loading on the activated sludge reactors operated with 3hours of HRT was most severe. The effluent quality was deteriorated significantly and generate foaming in reactors. Less than 24hours after the fourfold shock loading applied, the activated sludge system seemed to attain a new steady-state condition as show by effluent.

REMARKS ON ULRICH BUNDLES OF SMALL RANKS OVER QUARTIC FOURFOLDS

  • In this paper, we investigate a few strategies to construct Ulrich bundles of small ranks over smooth fourfolds in ℙ5, with a focus on the case of special quartic fourfolds. First, we give a necessary condition for Ulrich bundles over a very general quartic fourfold in terms of the rank and the Chern classes. Second, we give an equivalent condition for Pfaffian fourfolds in every degree in terms of arithmetically Gorenstein surfaces therein. Finally, we design a computer-based experiment to look for Ulrich bundles of small rank over special quartic fourfolds via deformation theory. This experiment gives a construction of numerically Ulrich sheaf of rank 4 over a random quartic fourfold containing a del Pezzo surface of degree 5.

Symmetric-viewing liquid crystal display with alternating alignment layers in an inverse-twisted-nematic configuration

  • A symmetric-viewing inverse-twisted-nematic (ITN) liquid crystal display (LCD) with alternating alignment layers was developed using a stamping-assisted rubbing (SAR) technique. A patterned layer of a fluorinated acrylate polymer was transferred onto the first rubbed vertical-alignment layer prepared on a substrate by stamping. The fluorinated acrylate polymer provided a protective layer covering the first rubbed alignment layer during the second rubbing process, which promoted the vertical alignment of the LC molecules. The LC cell in the ITN geometry with two orthogonally rubbed alignment layers showed symmetric-viewing characteristics with fourfold symmetry. The SAR technique was shown to be a mask-free alignment method of producing multidomains for symmetric-viewing LCDs.

몸틀의 확장을 통한 디지털 예술의 무(巫)적 체험 (A Shamanic Experience in Digital Art by Expansion of Body Schema)

  • 본 연구는 디지털 기술을 통한 관객과 예술작품의 관계의 확장을 메를로-퐁티(Maurice Merleau Ponty)의 몸틀(Body Schema)의 확장이라는 관점으로 보고 이를 통해 획득되는 예술적 가치를 하이데거의 낯섦(Defamiliarization)으로 설명한다. 이에 본 연구는 디지털 예술과 관객의 관계에서 비롯되는 낯선 경험이 디지털 예술에서 담당하는 역할에 대해 논의한다. 또한 본 연구는 관객이 사이-존재, 혹은 시인으로서 하이데거의 사방(四方 : The fourfold)즉 세계와 대지, 신적인 것과 죽을 자 사이에서의 역할에 대해 논의한다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 기존 예술작품과 비교하여 디지털 예술작품에서의 독특한 예술적 체험을 무(巫)적 체험으로 부르고, 이를 관객과의 상호작용을 요구하는 디지털 예술의 예술적 가치로 설명하는데 그 의의가 있다.

  • We construct new families of smooth Fano fourfolds with Picard rank 1 which contain open 𝔸1-cylinders, that is, Zariski open subsets of the form Z × 𝔸1, where Z is a quasiprojective variety. In particular, we show that every Mukai fourfold of genus 8 is cylindrical and there exists a family of cylindrical Gushel-Mukai fourfolds.

  • Let Y be the quintic del Pezzo 4-fold defined by the linear section of Gr(2, 5) by ℙ7. In this paper, we describe the locus of double lines in the Hilbert scheme of coincs in Y. As a corollary, we obtain the desigularized model of the moduli space of stable maps of degree 2 in Y. We also compute the intersection Poincaré polynomial of the stable map space.

O/Pd(100)-p($2{\times}2$) 표면구조 및 수소흡착 효과의 제일원리 이론계산 연구 (First-Principles Theoretical Study of the Surface Structure of O/Pd(100)-p($2{\times}2$) and the Effect of H Impurities)

  • 0,25 ML의 산소원자가 흡착하여 이루는 O/Pd(100)-p($2{\times}2$) 표면의 원자구조를 밀도범함수 이론 계산을 통해 연구하였다, Pd(100) 표면의 fourfold hollow 위치가 가장 안정된 산소 흡착위치로 밝혀졌고 O-Pd 결합거리는 $2,15{\AA}$으로 계산되었다. 산소 흡착에 의해 Pd(100) 표면의 첫 번째 층간격 ($d_{12}$) 은 +0,8%의 팽창을 보이는데 이 계산결과는 +3,6%의 팽창을 보고 한 LEED 실험 결과와 차이를 보인다. 차이의 원인으로 시료 표변에 수소 불순물이 존재하였을 가능성을 고려하여 계산한 결과, O/Pd(100)-p($2{\times}2$)에 수소원자가 흡착할 때 $d_{12}$의 팽창이 유발됨을 확인하였다. 수소 흡착량에 따른 구조변화를 분석하여 LEED 시료 표변에 잔존할 것으로 예상되는 수소의 양을 약 0,3 ML로 추정하였다.

Secure Biometric Hashing by Random Fusion of Global and Local Features

  • In this paper, we present a secure biometric hashing scheme for face recognition by random fusion of global and local features. The Fourier-Mellin transform and Radon transform are adopted respectively to form specialized representation of global and local features, due to their invariance to geometric operations. The final biometric hash is securely generated by random weighting sum of both feature sets. A fourfold key is involved in our algorithm to ensure the security and privacy of biometric templates. The proposed biometric hash can be revocable and replaced by using a new key. Moreover, the attacker cannot obtain any information about the original biometric template without knowing the secret key. The experimental results confirm that our scheme has a satisfactory accuracy performance in terms of EER.
