과불소탄소화물과 새로운 임펠러를 사용한 생물반응기의 특성 (Characteristics of a Bioreactor Using Perfluorocarbons and a New Impeller)

  • Recently, developments of large scale and high density cell culture methods have been the objects of many researches, because the demand of various pharmaceutical products produced by animal cell culture has been rapidly increasing. The cell culture equipment should have the requirements such as sufficient oxygen transfer and mixing, low shear stress and surface tension, and small foaming. In order to develop a proper bioreactor meeting these requirements simultaneously, a perfluorocarbon having high solubility of oxygen was sprayed into the medium as an oxygen carrier instead of air. Also, a new impeller was developed and combined together with the perfluorocarbon spraying system so as to design a new bioreartor for cell cultivation. The new impeller had better characteristics of mixing and oxygen transfer than the paddle and cell-lift impellers based on the same, shear rate. But, it was observed that the volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient of the new bioreactor decreased with increasing cell density during E. coli fermentation.

  • Slopping deteriorates the productivity and the stability of operation in BOF refining process, and hence POSCO has developed methods to predict and prevent slopping. Specific equipment was developed to measure the change of the reacting force to the oxygen-blowing lance against oxygen jet and the force was gathered and analyzed with the flow rate of oxygen and the height of lance. From this study, it was found that the reacting force is strongly correlated to the slag foam height. Currently, the modeling of the relation of the slag foaming level and the vertically acted force to lance is being approached for predicting the slopping.

오수/합병정화조의 배출물 제어시스템 연구 (The control system of sludge amount inspection and discharge materials of outlet water and affiliated water-purification tank)

  • The individual rotten water purification tank recently discharges wastewater and sewage through the outlet without purification ability. The outlet water and affiliated water purification tank with microorganism cultivator tank cultivates microorganism and then drops the value BOD, COD of sewage and discharges the quality of water into the outlet. The blower and water pump operating continuously prompts the waste of energy and deterioration of equipment. Each room of deposition tank, foaming tank, microorganism cultivator tank is equipment with the sludge detection senses so it can detect the density of each room. The power-drive plant of the blower and water pump which ate the system cultivating the microorganism must be made as fuzzy controlization (If the sludge amount of each room become higher, the rate of operation of blower and water pump must heighten, on the contrary, in case of row sludge amount, the total handling amount and microorganism handling amount of each room of control. Tank reducing the rate of operation must be DB. At present, the blower amount in proportion to the sludge and oxygen demanding amount has to control. Each mom must be checked outlet level of the outlet, also each room must flow backward discharge materials, and must operate feed-back control until we want to be come as a below value of BOD/COD(10PPM ; KS).

  • This study is the experiment for manufacturing the Lightweight non-cement matrix based on the Blast furnace slag. And, the matrix was manufactured matrix by generating the bubble just by the reaction of KOH that is the alkali accelerator and paper ash, instead of the general foaming agent, that is the waste managed of incineration the pulp sludge generated in the process of manufacturing the paper. Consequently, the density according to the addition rate of KOH represented the tendency to increase. And it showed up that density of the matrix adding KOH 22.5% was the lowest. As to the strength test result, strength following addition rate of KOH increased. Since the bubble is generated in the reaction of KOH and paper ash, this shows the very low intensity but it is determined to be the result that the amount of vacant space is decreased because the bubble generated in the mixture process comes up as the specific gravity difference.

중발포 소화약제 소화성능 분석을 통한 중발포기 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application Medium Expansion Foam Extinguisher by a Fire Performance Analysis used Medium Expention Foam Agent)

  • 연구목적 : 포소화설비에 사용되는 중발포 소화약제는 기류에 영향이 적어 방출거리를 유지 할 수 있을뿐만 아니라 소화약제도 효율적으로 사용 할 수 있기 때문에 중발포기를 이용하여 발포배율 및 소화성능을 실험으로 밝히고자 한다. 연구방법 : 본 연구를 위해 중발포 시험장치를 제작하여, 합성계면활성 제포를 대상으 로 유류화재(B급) 소화성능 및 발포배율 분석과 포소화약제 소모량을 측정하고 분석하였다. 연구결과: 중발포기로 발포배율을 측정한 결과 팽창율이 26.1배의 중발포 배율로 나타났으며, 유류화재 20단위 소화모형 실험결과 소화시간이 고발포 및 저발포 보다 빠르게 나타나, 수동식설비인 호스릴 또는 중발포기 적용이 가능할 것으로 본다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 중발포 포소화약제 발포성능 및 소화성능이 우수하게 나타나는 점을 고려하여 중발포 소화약제를 활용한 호스릴 또는 중발포기의 기술기준 도입이 필요하다.

  • 수축은 콘크리트에 균열을 발생시키는 경우도 있다. 일반적 조건하에서는 콘크리트의 건조를 피할 수 없으며 건조가 일어나면 수축이 생기므로 대부분의 콘크리트 적용분야에서는 실제로 이와 같이 균열발생을 고려하여야 한다. 균열이 발생한 콘크리트는 균열이 없는 콘크리트에 비하여 강도가 약하고 투과성이 크며 화학적 침식의 영향을 받기 쉽다. 또 재령의 경과에 따라 경량기포콘크리트의 강도발현은 기포제의 종류, 물과 시멘트와의 비, 양생조건 및 기간 등과 같은 인자에 의존하고 있다. 경량기포콘크리트의 강도가 높으면 높을수록 수축에 의하여 균열이 발생할 가능성이 감소한다. 그러므로 온돌구조용으로의 경량기포콘크리트의 강도는 소포율과 시멘트의 건조수축과의 균열저감효과에 크게 의존된다.

알루미늄용 산성탈지제의 제조 및 탈지특성 (Preparation and Characterization of Acidic Degreasing Agents for Aluminum)

  • Acidic degreasing agent(AADA) was prepared by blending sorbitol, Newpol PE-68, Na-dioctyl sulfosuccinate, Tetronix T-70l, MJU-100A, n-octanoic acid, and phosphoric acid, The physical properties of AADA tested with aluminum specimen showed the following results ; when 3wt% AADA-5 was performed at 70$^{\circ}C$, the degreasing rate was 95% which is comparitively good, and the percentage of etching was 0.277% which was found to be less than that of commercialized product. when 20wt% of AADA-5 was added at 65$^{\circ}C$, the percentage of derusting was 91% and the good defoaming effect proved by following low foaming power tests respectively : Ross and Miles, and Ross and Clark methods.

포장재가 ‘후지’사과의 신선도에 미치는 영향 (Freshness Extension of ‘Fuji’Apple to Packaging materials)

  • 개발한 EPS 포장상자가 사과의 신선도 유지효과 기능이 있는지의 여부를 조사코자 사과를 포장하여 2$0^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 골판지상자와 0.02와 0.04mm 두께의 LDPE필름, 기능성 MA필름과 50배로 발로시킨 EPS 상자에 사과를 15kg씩 포장하며 포장재간의 신선도 유지 효과를 비교하였다. 저장 40일 후 중량감소는 대조구는 5.7 %, EPS 상자는 0.5%의 중량감소가 나타났고, 비타민C도 2.06과 2.31mg%로 EPS 포장구가 높게 유지되고 있었다. 당도와 산도는 포장구간에 큰 차이가 없었으며 부패의 경우 대조구는 상자당 3-5개과가 발생했으나 EPS포장구는 발생하지 않았으며 외관도 양호한 것으로 나타났다.

Carrageenan as a Rheology Agent for Mild Cleansing Applications.

  • Viscarin is a tradename given to viscosifying carrageenans manufactured by FMC BioPolymer. The suitability of Vis car ins as rheology agents in mild cleansing applications has been investigated. Rheological properties, foam volume and clarity were measured to determine the impact of including 1 % Viscarin on 10% solutions of the following surfactants: acylglutamate, cocoamidopropyl betaine, PEG-80 laurate, sodium lauryl sulphate and sodium lauryol sarcosinate. Viscosity, pseudoplasticity and thixotropy of Viscarin/surfactant solutions varied with surfactant type. In all cases, the addition of Viscarin substantially increased viscosity. For example, at a shear rate of 1 sol, all surfactant solutions had viscosities <0.1 Pa s while viscosities of Viscarin/surfactant solutions ranged from 10 to 60 Pa s. By comparison, a solution of 1 % Viscarin had a viscosity of 0.3 Pa s. Clarity of surfactant solutions decreased in all cases on the addition of Viscarin. However, it was found that by including a mild solubilizing surfactant, such as PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil, crystal clarity could be maintained in Viscarin/surfactant solutions. Viscarin increased the foam volume of sodium lauryolsarcosinate solutions from 10 ml to 220 ml and had no impact on the foam volume of the other surfactants tested. These results were used to formulate a clear, ultra-mild foaming cleansing gel based on sodium lauryol sarcosinate and Viscarin without the need for a secondary, foam-boasting surfactant. A mild shampoo was also formulated. Both products have excellent skin-feel and are capable of suspending bubbles and solid inclusions.
