In recent years, there is growing interest in 'Fin-tech' in the domestic and international financial sector. And a variety of services in such a situation has emerged. To ensure the safety of from hacking attacks, many new technologies have been developed. These leading technology is the Bio-authentication method that you consider applying to the financial sector. Bio authentication is using biometric information. Also it is known that can cope the threat of fabrication and modifying attacks with shared and stored. However, Recently, When you look at hacking incidents of biometric data(560 million cases) in the United States Office of Personnel Management and advent of the fingerprints counterfeit technology, We can be known that should be reconsidered about the safety of bio-certification. Especially, it should be provided with a response measures for the problem of embezzlement that biometric information already been leaked. Thereby In this paper, by investigating biometric technologies and practices applied and of the vulnerability factor in many industries, it expected to be utilized in the prepared threats countermeasures in accordance with the application of the biometric authentication technology in a future.
The purpose of this study is to implement and develop the integrated Economic Value Added (EVA) and Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) model to seek both improvement of Net Operating Profit Less Adjusted Tax (NOPLAT) and reduction of Capital Charge (CC). Net Operating Profit Less Adjusted Tax (NOPLAT) can be maximized by reducing the indirect cost of an unused resource capacity increased by Cost Capacity Ratio (CCR) of TDABC. On the other hand, Capital Charge (CC) can be minimized by improving the efficiency of Invested Capital (IC) considered by Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) of EVA. In addition, the integrated system of TDABC using Balance Scorecard (BSC) and EVA is developed by linking between the lagging indicators and the three leading indicators. The three leading indicators include customer, internal process and growth and learning perspectives whereas the lagging indicator includes NOPLAT and CC in terms of financial perspective. When the Critical Success Factor (CSF) of BSC is cascading as a cause and an effect relationship, time driver of TDABC and capital driver of EVA can be used efficiently as Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of BSC. For a better understanding of the proposed EVA/TDABC model and BSC/EVA/TDABC model, numerical examples are derived from this paper. From the proposed model, the time driver of TDABC and the capital driver of EVA are known to lessen indirect cost from comprehensive income statement when increasing the efficiency of operating IC from the statement of financial position with unified KPI cascading of aligned BSC CSFs.
In this paper, we examine a portfolio selection model in which a safety-first investor maximizes expected return subject to a downside risk constraint. We use the Value-at-Risk as the downside risk measure. We exploit the fact that returns are fat-tailed, and use a semi-parametric method suggested by Jansen, Koedijk and de Vries(2000). We find a more realistic asset allocation than the one suggested by the literature based on the traditional mean-variance framework. For the robustness check, we provide empirical analyses using empirical quantiles. The results highlight that for optimal portfolio selection involving downside risks that are far in the tails of the distribution, our mean-VaR model with a fat-tailed distribution is superior.
This study tried to identify the job stress characteristics of female bank workers and the relationship between their stress and symptoms associated with musculoskeletal disorders(MSDs). The total number of 587 female bank tellers have been participated in this study. Specifically, questionnaire surveys regarding job stress and MSDs symptoms were conducted. On the basis of the results from the survey using Korean version of job stress questionnaire with 24 questions, stress scores associated with job requirement and job flexibility were relatively high. The job stress levels regarding job demand, organizational system, occupational climate at the work place were relatively high for the full time workers while the job stress levels regarding insufficient job control, job stability, interpersonal conflict, lack of reward were relatively high for the part time worker. The workers with longer total work years had relatively high job stress associated with interpersonal conflict, and organizational system while the workers with longer work years at the current job had relatively high job stress associated with occupational climate. Also, the workers with longer working hours a day had relatively high job stress associated with job demand, interpersonal conflict, organizational system, and occupational climate. According to the relationship identified in this study, symptoms at the neck, shoulder, hand, low back. leg were associated with the stress levels in terms of job flexibility, interpersonal conflict, job requirement, job stability. In conclusion, female bank workers are exposed to job stress due to their specific job characteristics and there has been certain relationships between their job stress and MSDs symptoms.
It seems required to determine what might affect the technological innovation activities of manufacturing companies and what kind of role they could play for them to carry out technological innovation activities in an effective way. The objective of the present study is thus to conduct a depth empirical analysis of the structural relations among business environment, technological innovation activities and performance of manufacturing companies. From the analysis, following outcomes could be drawn: First, with regard to the relationship between business environment and technological innovation activities of manufacturing companies, it has become clear that the external environment is a factor that can influence technological innovation activities such as management of technical property, technological innovation system as well as technical network, while it exercises no impact upon adaptation of manufacturers to new technologies. The internal environment, on the other hand, turns out to have influence on such overall factors of technological innovation activities as management of technical property, technological innovation system, adaptation to new technologies and technical network; and Second, as for the relationship between technological innovation activities and their performance, it has been obvious that management of technical property and technological innovation system, both factors of technological innovation activities, affect the performance of product development and financial achievements of manufacturing companies. Their adaptation to new technologies will also affect their performance of product development as well as financial achievements. These findings suggest that it is important for manufacturing companies to set up an operating system that may be able to upgrade the practical applicability of their technological development activities in an attempt to promote performance of their technological innovation activities.

As the inventory of aged apartments is expected to increase explosively, the importance of maintenance to improve the durability of concrete facilities is increasing. Concrete compressive strength is a representative index of durability of concrete facilities, and is an important item in the precision safety diagnosis for facility maintenance. However, existing methods for measuring the concrete compressive strength and determining the maintenance of concrete facilities have limitations such as facility safety problem, high cost problem, and low reliability problem. In this study, we proposed a model that can predict the concrete compressive strength through images by using deep convolution neural network technique. Learning, validation and testing were conducted by applying the concrete compressive strength dataset constructed through the concrete specimen which is produced in the laboratory environment. As a result, it was found that the concrete compressive strength could be learned by using the images, and the validity of the proposed model was confirmed.
Purpose: Most of cybersecurity breaches occur in SMEs. As the existing cybersecurity framework and certification system are mainly focused on financial and large companies, it is difficult for SMEs to utilize it due to lack of cybersecurity budget and manpower. So it is necessary to come up with measures to allow SMEs to voluntarily manage cyber risks. Method: After reviewing Cybersecurity market, cybersecurity items of financial institutions, cybersecurity framework comparison and cybersecurity incidents reported in the media, the criticality of cybersecurity items was analyzed through AHP analysis. And cybersecurity items of non-life insurers were also investigated and made a comparison between them. Result: Cyber risk management methods for SMEs were proposed for 20 major causes of cyber accidents. Conclusion: We hope that the cybersecurity risk assessment measures of SMEs in Korea will help them assess their risks when they sign up for cyber insurance, and that cyber risk assessment also needs to be linked to ERM standardization.
With the spread of Artificial Intelligence (AI), various AI-based services are expanding in the financial sector such as service recommendation, automated customer response, fraud detection system(FDS), credit scoring services, etc. At the same time, problems related to reliability and unexpected social controversy are also occurring due to the nature of data-based machine learning. The need Based on this background, this study aimed to contribute to improving trust in AI-based financial services by proposing a checklist to secure fairness in AI-based credit scoring services which directly affects consumers' financial life. Among the key elements of trustworthy AI like transparency, safety, accountability, and fairness, fairness was selected as the subject of the study so that everyone could enjoy the benefits of automated algorithms from the perspective of inclusive finance without social discrimination. We divided the entire fairness related operation process into three areas like data, algorithms, and user areas through literature research. For each area, we constructed four detailed considerations for evaluation resulting in 12 checklists. The relative importance and priority of the categories were evaluated through the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). We use three different groups: financial field workers, artificial intelligence field workers, and general users which represent entire financial stakeholders. According to the importance of each stakeholder, three groups were classified and analyzed, and from a practical perspective, specific checks such as feasibility verification for using learning data and non-financial information and monitoring new inflow data were identified. Moreover, financial consumers in general were found to be highly considerate of the accuracy of result analysis and bias checks. We expect this result could contribute to the design and operation of fair AI-based financial services.
The main purpose of this study was to find out the actual status of safety and heal th education activities in the manufacturing industries through survey of 136 plants in Seoul City and Gyunggi- Province Area which employ nurses being charged in the safety and health care services to the employees. A questionaire was mailed to the employees on the Mar. 2, 1987. Total 634 responds from 87 industries were collected by Apr. 20, 1987. Among the total, 618 responds from 80 industries were included in the analysis. The major findings obtainded from this study are summarized as follows; 1. Safety and health education activities in each industry: 1) The $67.6\%$ of safety directors surveyed were performing the education to the employees. And in case of medical directors, it was $18.8\%$ of them. 2) Periodically, annual safety' and health education programs were being drawn up in the $65.0\%$ of the industries (52 companies). And the $60.6\%$ of the planners were safety directors of safety staffs in charge. 3) It was only $27.5\%$ of the companies surveyed in which the safety and health education were performed more than an hour every month. In the $22.5\%$ of the companies, neither safety programs nor health education activities were performed. 4) In the $47.5\%$ of them, safety and health educations were performed in cooperation with related agencies such as health center. 2. The rate of employees participated in safety and health educations; 1) The received rates by subjects of the educations when labors were newly employed to their companies were as follows; education regarding danger and profer handling method of machinery and appliances: $64.2\%$, education regarding noxiousness and handling method of raw materials: $42.2\%$, etc. 2) The $63.6\%$ of the labors received educations on safety and health when they changed their work places. 3) The $74.8\%$ of the labors received specific safety and health educations. 4) The general safety and health educations were received by the $47.2\%$ of management and clerical personnel and $50.0\%$ of labors pre and post physical examination. 3. The main reasons of inactive performance of the educations were as follows; lack of knowledge and inexperience of the occupational safety and health staffs, lack of cooperations between themselves and low need of workers for safety and health education, etc. 4. The preferable subjects of educations for workers; (1) pre and post education of physical examination, (2) education regarding the prevention of accidents. (3) general health care, sex education and family planning, etc. As a result of this study, we can conclude that the safety and health education work in industries as the subject of this study is on the incipient stage. Appropriate measures are to be taken for the activation of safety and health education work such as; continuous public relations, financial and technical supports of the government, training of professional/occupational safety and health staffs, efforts of workers to receive the education and collaborations of the employers.
As Internet banking service became popular, many users can exchange goods by online. Even though this advantage, there are incident cases in the Internet banking service due to security threats. In order to counteract this problem, various security techniques have been applied over whole area in the Internet banking service. Therefore, we described that analyzed results of security techniques applied in the financial institutions area and network communication area in this paper. We consider that this paper will be useful as a reference to protect security threats occurred by insiders and vulnerabilities in implementation.
