고정된 핀 바닥 높이에 기준한 비대칭 사다리꼴 핀의 최적화 (Optimization of an Asymmetric Trapezoidal Fin Based on the Fixed Fin Base Height)

  • 위 측면 표면 기울기가 변화하는 비대칭 사다리꼴 핀의 최적화가 2차원 해석적 방법을 사용하여 수행된다. 고정된 핀 바닥 높이에 대하여 최적 열손실, 핀 길이 그리고 유용도가 내부유체 대류특성계수, 핀 바닥 두께, 핀 바닥 높이, 핀 형상계수 그리고 주위 대류특성계수의 함수로 나타내어진다. 이러한 최적화 절차를 위해서 핀으로부터의 최대 열손실 값의 95%를 최적 열손실 값으로 정의하였다. 결과 중 하나는 최적 열 손실과 유용도는 핀 형상계수의 변화에 독립적으로 보이는 반면 최적 핀 길이는 핀 형상계수가 증가함에 따라 거의 선형적으로 감소함을 보여주고 있다.

  • 측면 표면 기울기가 변화하는 역 사다리꼴 핀이 2차원 해석적 방법을 사용하여 최적화된다. 핀 바닥 경계조건을 위해서, 내부유체로부터 내벽까지의 대류와 내벽부터 핀 바닥까지의 전도가 고려된다. 핀 끝 면으로부터의 열손실은 무시되지 않는다. 실제적인 핀 길이에서의 최대 열손실, 그 최대 열손실이 발생할 때의 최적의 효율, 핀 길이 그리고 핀 바닥 높이가 핀 내 외부의 대류특성계수의 함수로 나타내어진다. 결과 중 하나는 핀 바닥 높이에 대한 핀 끝 높이의 비가 커질수록 최적의 핀 형상은 두껍고 짧아지는 형상이 됨을 보여준다.

  • The non-dimensional heat loss from a thermally asymmetric triangular fin is investigated as a function of a ratio of upper and lower surface Biot numbers (Bi2/Bi1), the non-dimensional fin length and tip surface Biot number using the two-dimensional separation of variables method. The effect of fin tip surface Biot number on the variation of the non-dimensional temperature along the sloped upper and lower surfaces for the thermally asymmetric condition is presented. The relationship between the non-dimensional fin length and the fin tip surface Biot number for equal amount of heat loss is also discussed as well as the relationship between upper surface Biot number and tip surface Biot number for equal amount of heat loss.

자바리(Epinephelus moara ♀)와 대왕바리(E. lanceolatus ♂) 간 교잡종 대왕자바리의 형태 비교 (Comparison of Morphological Characteristics and Its Parent Species Hybrid Grouper between a Epinephelus moara ♀ and E. lanceolatus ♂)

  • As grouper aquaculture production intensifies worldwide, hybrids are increasingly produced to induce heterosis of traits such as rapid growth and strong environmental adaptability. In this study, we compared the morphological characteristics of a hybrid grouper to those of its parent species Epinephelus moara and E. lanceolatus. The coefficients of external and skeletal traits evaluated using soft X-rays did not differ significantly among groups; however, several patterns were detected among measured traits. The body depth (BD), length of caudal peduncle (LCP), and pre-anal fin length (PAL) of the hybrid were the same as those of E. moara, whereas the pre-pectoral fin length (PPL) and interorbital width (IOW) of the hybrid were the same as those of E. lanceolatus. Traits that did not differ significantly among the three groups included pre-dorsal fin length (PDL), pre-ventral fin length (PVL), length of anal fin (LAF), and length of dorsal fin (LDF), whereas the depth of caudal peduncle (DCP) and snout length (SNL) showed intermediate traits, and eye diameter (ED) was significantly smaller in the hybrid. Therefore, intermediate traits such as DCP and SNL and specific traits such as ED may be used as indices for hybrid classification.

A Rectangular Fin Optimization Including Comparison Between 1-D and 2-D Analyses

  • Both 1-D and 2-D analytic methods are used for a rectangular fin optimization. Optimum heat loss is taken as 98% of the maximum heat loss. Temperature profile using 2-D analytic method and relative error of temperature along the fin length between 1-D and 2-D analytic methods are presented. Increasing rate of the optimum heat loss with the variation of Biot number and decreasing rate of that with the variation of the fin base length are listed. Optimum fin tip length using 2-D analytic method and relative error of that between 1-D and 2-D analytic methods are presented as a function of Biot numbers ratio.

Design Optimization of Pin-Fin Sharp to Enhance Heat Transfer

  • This work presents a numerical procedure to optimize the elliptic-shaped pin fin arrays to enhance turbulent heat transfer. The response surface method is used as an optimization technique with Reynolds-averaged Navier Stokes analysis of flow and heat transfer. Shear stress transport (SST) turbulence model is used as a turbulence closure. Computational results for average heat transfer rate show a reasonable agreement with the experimental data. Four variables including major axis length, minor axis length, pitch and the pin fin length nondimensionalized by duct height are chosen as design variables. The objective function is defined as a linear combination of heat transfer and friction-loss related terms with weighting factor. D-optimal design is used to reduce the data points, and, with only 28 points, reliable response surface is obtained. Optimum shapes of the pin-fin arrays have been obtained in the range from 0.0 to 0.1 of weighting factor.

넙치 Paralichthys olivaceus와 강도다리 Platichthys stellatus 잡종의 형태적 특징 (Morphological Characteristics of the Hybrids of Female Flounder Paralichthys olivaceus and Male Starry Flounder Platichthys stellatus)

  • 넙치 암컷과 강도다리 수컷을 인공교배하여 만든 잡종의 형태적 특징을 조사하였다. 잡종은 두 종의 중간 형태를 나타내지만 대부분의 형질이 수컷인 강도다리에 조금 더 가까웠다. 잡종은 체장에 대한 체고 비율이 56.3%로서 체고가 높고, 두장에 대한 문장 비율 20.6%, 두장에 대한 상악장 비율 34.2%이었으며, 체장에 대해 전배기장 10.5%, 전흉기장 32.2%, 전복기장 29.8%, 전둔기장 28.0%로서 강도다리 체형에 다소 가까웠다. 눈이 있는 쪽은 암황록색 바탕에 옅은 검은 얼룩이 흩어져 있으며, 강도다리 체측에 산재해 있는 작은 골판은 없다. 등지느러미에 6~20개, 뒷지느러미에 5~10개의 가로띠무늬가 있으나 가장자리로 갈수록 흐려져 불명료해진다. 지느러미 기조수는 등지느러미 60~66, 뒷지느러미 40~51, 꼬리지느러미 18~21, 가슴지느러미 11~12개였으며, 아가미의 새파수 13~18, 새사수 73~98개였다. 척추골수는 34~37개였으며, 미추골 시작부위에서 척추골 2~3개가 융합된 개체가 많았다.

Design Consideration of Bulk FinFETs with Locally-Separated-Channel Structures for Sub-50 nm DRAM Cell Transistors

  • We proposed a new $p^+/n^+$ gate locally-separated-channel (LSC) bulk FinFET which has vertically formed oxide region in the center of fin body, and device characteristics were optimized and compared with that of normal channel (NC) FinFET. Key device characteristics were investigated by changing length of $n^+$ poly-Si gate ($L_s$), the material filling the trench, and the width and length of the trench at a given gate length ($L_g$). Using 3-dimensional simulations, we confirmed that short-channel effects were properly suppressed although the fin width was the same as that of NC device. The LSC device having the trench non-overlapped with the source/drain diffusion region showed excellent $I_{off}$ suitable for sub-50 nm DRAM cell transistors. Design of the LSC devices were performed to get reasonable $L_s/L_g$ and channel fin width ($W_{cfin}$) at given $L_gs$ of 30 nm, 40 nm, and 50 nm.

Morphological Development of Egg, Larvae and Juvenile in Korean shinner, Coreoleuciscus splendidus from the Ungcheon-Stream of Korea

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of Coreoleuciscus splendidus egg and larvae morphology in the Ungcheon-stream. C. splendidus eggs were round and ranged in size from 1.86-2.01 mm (mean $1.91{\pm}0.14mm$). Immediately after hatching, the larvae had egg yolk in the abdomen with a total length of 5.27-6.63 mm (mean $5.95{\pm}0.96mm$). On the 10 days after hatching, the latter was 8.44-8.65 mm (mean $8.54{\pm}0.14mm$) in total length, and 5 dorsal fin rays were formed in dorsal fin and 8 caudal fin soft rays were formed in caudal fin. At 88 days after hatching, total length was 26.2-25.7 mm (mean $25.9{\pm}0.35mm$), and scales were formed throughout the body. The fin rays of each part were iii.7 in dorsal fin and iii.6 in anal fin, and finally the external form was the same as the adult fish.

  • 측면 기울기가 변하는 사다리꼴 핀이 일차원 해석적 방법에 의하여 최적으로 설계된다. 각기 다른 네 경우의 대류특성계수에 대하여 핀 끝 길이를 따른 열손실의 변화경향이 보여 진다. 최적의 열손실은 다소 임의적으로 최대열손실의 92%로 선택된다. 이러한 최적의 열손실이 발생할 때의 최적의 핀 길이 대 대류특성계수의 변화가 나타내진다. 최적의 유용성과 특정한 경우의 유용성이 핀 형상 계수의 함수로 보여 진다.
