Objective : To examine whether any correlation between tendency towards depression and tenderness at special acupuncture points exists, thus to explore the potential diagnostic property of acupuncture points. Methods : A total 31 subjects were included in this study. They filled out questionnaires about their mental [Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Stress Response Inventory (SRI), Profile of Mood States (POMS)] and physical (fatigue due to overexertion, and food accumulation) symptoms. Identical weight around Alarm points (CV17, CV12, ST25, CV5, CV4, and LR13) and transport points (BL14, BL20, BL21, BL22, BL25, and BL27) was given using an algometer and the subjects rated their pain on an 11-point numerical rating scale. Heart rate variability (HRV) was also measured. Results : The subjects were divided into two groups, normal and depressive tendency groups with a cut-off point of nine on BDI. The depressive tendency group reported significantly higher values in SRI, POMS, and questionnaire for fatigue due to overexertion. In the pressure pain measurement, depressive tendency group had more pressure pain at CV12, left side of BL20, BL14, BL22 and both sides of BL21, BL25, BL27, significantly (each p<0.05). The data of HRV did not show significant differences between groups. Conclusions : People with a tendency towards depression may be prone to stress, negative mood, and fatigue due to overexertion. In addition, they may be more likely to develop tenderness at alarm points and transport points compared with healthy people. Further research is needed to confirm this finding.

To examine the seedling stand and growth as affected by early seeding dates of dry direct seeded rice in the Honam plain area of Korea, Dongjinbyeo was seeded at six seeding dates from early March to late April in rice fields of silty loam soil(Jeonbuk series) at the National Honam Agricultural Experiment Station (NHAES) for two years, 1996 and 1998. Seedling stand decreased slightly. with an early seeding date, but it produced more than the optimum seedling number except for the seeding of 25 March in 1996. Days to emergence was significantly longer, as seeding date was earlier, and days to emergence by early seeding was shortened only by 8 days because the mean air temperature was lower in 1996 than average, while in 1998, the reduction effect was nine to twenty five days because the mean air temperature was higher than average. In early seeding, various weeds occurred at the emergence date of rice and dominant weeds were Alopecurus aequailis, Ludwigia prostata and Rorippa islandica. NH$_4$$^{+}$ -N content in the soil at the 5th leaf stage and maximum tillering stage were lower, as the seeding date was earlier when nitrogen was split applied as basal and top dressed in 1996, while it was not significantly different among seeding dates when nitrogen was intensively applied as a top dressing in 1998. Tiller number at the maximum tillering stage and panicle number/m$^2$ were more, as seeding date was earlier in 1996, while it was not different in 1998. Filled grain rate and 1,000 grain weight was not different among the seeding dates. Milled rice yield was significantly decreased in the seeding before the middle of March, but in the seeding after late March, it was not varied when compared with the normal seeding date in 1996, while in 1998, there was no difference among seeding dates. From the above results, in consideration of seedling stand, weed occurance, rice growth and milled rice yield, the critical optimum early seeding time in the southern plain area may lie in early April. But it was suggested that when soil moisture is proper for seeding practices, seeding amount is increased and nitrogen is applied after plumule emergence of rice, milled rice yield may not be reduced in the seeding of middle or late March, compared with the seeding in April.l.

Constructed wetlands are well known as highly efficient system to treat wastewater from different sources. Among the constructed wetlands, upflow types of constructed wetlands have become a common selection of wastewater during the last decade. We conducted a pilot scale study at peen house on treating potential of nutrients by upflow vegetated filter(UVF) pilot wetland which was combined with hydrodynamic separator and used the cattail plant(Typha angustifolia), and operated with artificial nutrients influent. This study evaluate the performances of upflow vegetated fille, in removal of nutrients. The objectives of this study were two-fold: (i) to evaluate the nutrients removal performance of pilot-scale upflow vegetated filter, filled with a mixture of perlite and soil media and planted with cattails and (ii) to design of scale-up upflow vegetated filter using Froude number. Results indicated that, under the condition of the ranges of hydraulic surface load rate were $22.7{\pm}9.6\;m^3/m^2/day$, the average removal of $COD_{Mn}$, and TN, TP were 57.5%, 40.0% and 41.5%, respectively. Computational fluid dynamics, FLUENT 6.0 program was used to predict the distribution of velocity in UVF and hydrodynamic separator. Full scale UVF was designed using the Froude number scale-up method that was assumed geomertic similarity between model and prototype. Result shows that the UVF with 3 m diameter has capacity of design sewage flowrate 75 $m^3/day$.
Two pilot-scale biocovers (PBCs) were installed in a landfill, and the methane ($CH_4$) concentrations at their inlets and outlets were monitored for 240 days to evaluate the methane removability. Consequently, the packing materials were sampled from the PBCs, and their potential $CH_4$ oxidizing abilities were evaluated in serum vials. The $CH_4$ concentration at the inlet of the biocovers was observed to be in the range of 23.7-47.9% (average = 41.3%, median = 42.6%). In PBC1, where a mixture of soil, earthworm cast, and compost (7:2:1, v/v) was employed as the packing material, the $CH_4$ removal efficiency was evaluated to be between 60.7-85.5%. In PBC2, which was filled with a mixture of soil, earthworm cast, perlite, and compost (4:2:3:1, v/v), the removal efficiency was evaluated to be between 29.2-78.5%. Although the packing materials had an excellent $CH_4$ oxidizing potential (average oxidation rate for $CH_4=180-199{\mu}g\;CH_4{\cdot}g\;packing\;material^{-1}{\cdot}h^{-1}$), $CH_4$ removal efficiency in PBC1 and PBC2 decreased to the range of 0-30% once the packing materials in the PBCs were clogged and channeled. Furthermore, seasonal effects exhibited no significant differences in the $CH_4$ removal efficiency of the biocovers. The results of this study can be used to design and operate real-scale biocovers in landfills to mitigate $CH_4$ buildup.
The primary purpose of this research paper is to study the nutrition intake status of high school students and their physical growth and development. Further, it made an attempt to find and define nutritional problems and assist in their growth and development through proper nutritional management. One hundred students in both sexes, first year grade in senior high school were provided with questionnaires. For six days the respondents filled out the questionnaires. They were asked to keep record of what they ate each meal. Their nutritional intake were analyzed in accordance with what they ate. Findings, conducted on percentage, CR test, t test, and F test, were as follows: 1. For the living circumstance a) Average numbers of brother and sister in sampled family were four. b) Seventy to eighty percent of the students were brought up by mother's milk at their infants and approximately 40% of students were weaned at the age of 7 to 18 months. c) Fifty percent of the respondents revealed irregulity in their meal time. d) Monthly average expenditure for daily food reached $20{\sim}40%$ out of total income. e) The most favorite foods reflect as follows: The most favorite main dish is boiled rice and side dish beaf. Fruits. juice, milk, ice cream are more popular snack among whole students. 2. Nutrition survey a) Calory sad nutrients were found to be below the recommended level, especially in calcium, vitamins A, $B_2$ and C. b) The total calory intake were composed of 73% from carbohydrate, 14% from protein and 13% from fat in the case of boys. The girls were 65%, 14%, 21% respectively. c) Both boys and girls in their animal protein intake averaged about 33% out of total protein intake. d) Meat consumption of the majority respondents were proportionate in $10{\sim}20%$ in their total food consumption. 3. The result of statistical analysis were as follows: a) Statistical significant differences in the relationship between the calory intake and physical growth index were observed at the level of p<0.05. b) Statistical significant differences in the relationship between the protein intake and physical growth index were observed at the level of p<0.05. c) Statistical significant differences in the relationship between meal time and physical growth index were observed at the level of 0.02<0.05. d) No statistical significant differences in the relationship among calory, protein intake and school records as well as intelligence were found. The experiment indicated that there is a direct relationship between nutrition and the physical growth and development, whereas There seems to be an indirect relationship between nutrition and intelligence.
In the present study, the possibility of recovering and recycling the silicon carbide(SiC) from a silicon sludge by removing Fe and Si impurities was investigated. Si and SiC were separated from the silicon sludge using centrifugation. The separated SiC concentrate consisted of Fe, Si and SiC, in which Fe and Si were removed to recover the pure SiC. Leaching with acid/alkali solution was compared with the vapor-phase chlorination. The Fe concentration removed in the SiC was 49 ppm, and it was separated by leaching with 1 M HCl solution at $80^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. The Si concentration removed in the SiC was 860 ppm, and it was separated by leaching with 1M NaOH solution at $50^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. The SiC concentrate was chlorinated in a tubular reactor, 2.4 cm in diameter and 32 cm in length. The boat filled with SiC concentrate was located at the midpoint of the alumina tube, then, the chlorine and nitrogen gas mixture was introduced. The Fe and Si concentration removed in the SiC were 48 ppm and 405 ppm, respectively, at $500^{\circ}C$ reactor temperature, 4 h reaction time, 300 cc/min gas flow rate, and 10% $Cl_2$ gas mole fraction.
Vertical farming systems offer many advantages in urban spaces. They have also been proposed as an engineering solution to increase the productivity per unit area of cultivated land by extending crop production in the vertical dimension. However, soil water retention is a major constraint affecting the plant environment. This study analyzed the effects of growth environment of Tropaeolum majus and Fragaria spp., on the vertical farming system, by using four different types of cover material types including sphagnum moss (Control), a shading net (S.N.), multi-layered fabric (M.L.F.), and non-woven fabric (N.W.F.). The volumetric soil moisture contents and plant characteristics were investigated from May to September 2014. Plant materials were individually cultivated in hanging baskets measuring $30{\times}17{\times}17cm$, filled with a mixture of soil and perlite, and placed at 1.5m height. Each treatment was performed in quadruplicate and consisted of five plants, amounting to a total of 20 plants. The analysis indicated that different covers were associated with multiple functions and soil water retention improvements may have a positive impact on the vertical farming system. The difference in soil water retention increased in the following order: M.L.F. > Control > N.W.F. > S.N.. Furthermore, the differences in plant height and survival rate increased in the following order: M.L.F. > Control > N.W.F. > S.N. Therefore, M.L.F yielded satisfactory good response for the vertical farming system of cover materials. Our results clearly demonstrate that vertical spaces represent an attractive alternative to urban farming and suggest that further increases in yield may be achieved via different cover materials in vertical farming using hanging baskets.

In order to improve the success rate of implants, various implant designs have been developed. Although there have been enough efforts to handle the surface of the implant with careful choice of material and mechanics so that the bone and the implant can be tightly joined together, they have still failed to play the role of periodontal ligaments of the natural teeth in the past. The role of periodontal ligaments is very important since it can improve the initial stability of implant by absorbing the impacts. The purpose of this study is, thus, to test the possibility of alleviating the impact when the surface of the implant was coated with chitosan, a natural polymer, and making sure that the coated material stayed on. Then, the condition of newly developed bone formation and the degree of inflammation in response was closely observed in the surface level. In the main experiment, Chitosan coated implant ($3.3mm{\times}7mm$) was implanted on both the right and the left side of rabbit's femur. The animals were each sacrificed on the $1^{st}$, $2^{nd}$, $3^{rd}$, $7^{th}$, $14^{th}$, $21^{st}$ and 28th day. The process was observed under an light microscope after the Toluidin Blue staining. From the experiment, it was found that the chitosan was evenly distributed on the surface of the screws, and the implant was adjoined with adjacent bone. There was a sign of inflammation on the $3^{rd}$ day, but on the $14^{th}$ day, the formation of woven bone and newly formed bones were noticed. Also, chitosan filled the gap was formed between the implant and the newly formed bone. The implant, the chitosan and the newly formed bone were forming one unit as a result. Therefore, it was found that chitosan coated implant could absorbe the impact in the initial stage of implant.
This study was undertaken to estimate the exposed dose of the medical personnel during the intracoronary radiotherapy procedure as a part of ongoing SPARE (Seoul National University Hospital Post-Angioplasty Rhenium) trial. Data of thirty-four patients among forty-two irradiated patients participating in this trial due to coronary artery stenosis were retrospectively analyzed. Intracoronary radiotherapy was delivered to the patient immediately after angioplasty ballooning. Prescribed dose was 17 Gy to media of the diseased artery and was delivered with $^{188}Re$ filled balloon catheter. Dosimetry was carried out with GM counter at eight different points. Ten centimeter and forty centimeter from the patient's heart were selected to represent maximum and whole-body exposed dose of the operator, respectively. Median delivered dose was 111.6 mCi with average treatment time of 576 seconds. Average exposed dose rate at 10 cm and 40 cm from the patient's heart were 0.43 mSv/hr and 0.30 mSv/hr, respectively. Average exposed doses per treatment were 0.07 mSv and 0.05 mSv for 10 cm and 40 cm from the patient's heart, respectively. Exposed doses measured are much lower than recommended limit of 50 mSv for radiation workers or 1 mSv for general population in ICRP-60. This study proves that current method of intracoronary radiotherapy incorporated in this trial is very safe regarding radiation protection.

Dielectric properties and shape memory characteristics of SBS composites filled with carbon black as conductive filler and (Ba,Ca)$(Sn,Ti)O_3$ or $SrTiO_3$ as dielectrics were investigated for the development of phantom model. SBS/carbon black composite showed an increment of complex dielectric constant with increasing the content of carbon black and the frequency dependence that the dielectric constant decreases with the frequency. The complex dielectric constant and the conductivity of SBS/carbon black/dielectrics composites increased with the increase of dielectrics and the characteristics of the frequency dependence also occurred by the effect of carbon black. Phantom materials with the dielectric properties and the conductivity corresponding to human tissues for the measurement of specific absorption rate(SAR) within the frequency range of current mobile phones(775MHz~2GHz) could be developed by adjusting the composition ratios of carbon black, dielectrics and SBS and by controlling the characteristic of frequency dependence of composite. From thermomechanical cycling test good shape recoverability could be obtained in SBS composite even though the residual strain was increased by the effect of filler.
