In this study, area-weighted slope and slope length module, considering measured field slope and slope length of the agricultural fields within the subwatershed, was developed using the ArcView Avenue programming to reflect the field topography of the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) HRU in simulating the hydrology and water quality. Flow and sediment yield estimated values of the SWAT were compared with and without applying area-weighted slope and slope length module, developed in this study. There was 103% increases in estimated sediment with area-weighted slope and slope length module for the study watershed. The soil erosion and sediment yield from only agricultural field in Hae-an watershed was also assessed. There are 111% increase in estimated soil erosion and 112% increase in estimated sediment by applying area-weighted slope and slope length module. This study shows that the area-weighted slope and slope length module needs to be utilized in estimating the HRU field slope and slope length for accurate estimation of soil erosion and nonponit source pollutant modeling with the SWAT although it is not feasible to measure topographic information for every agricultural fields within the watershed. The area-weighted slope and slope length module can be used in identifying soil erosion hot spot areas for developing cost effective and efficient soil erosion management practices.
In this study, we peformed ahead a field geological investigation, boring investigation for slope stability analysis in large scale slope failure area. But the geological stratum was not clearly grasped, because ground was very disturbed by large scale Granite intrusion. Furthermore, the existing test data was not pertinent to the large scale Granite intrusion site like here. Therefore, various kind of field test were performed to grasp clearly for geological stratum. And the results of back analysis, various kind tests used to slope stability analysis.
In this study, slope hazards mitigation methods for a natural terrain are systematically classified to survey the mitigation methods and develop a data base system. Also, field survey sheets which can be recorded the features of mitigation methods installed in the natural slope are developed. The slope hazards mitigation methods in the natural slope are classified as hillside part method and valley part method. The slope part sheet and the valley part sheet are also drawn up for field survey. As the result of the filed survey of mitigation methods about 50 points in Muju and Jangsu area, grass painting and slope covering methods are dominant in case of slopes part. In case of valley part, slit dam, concrete check dam and slope foot barrier are applied simultaneously.
The feasibility study on the application of formed urethane to slope stabilization and backfill material was carried out through laboratory and field test. The physical and chemical properties of formed urethane were investigated. The slope stabilization effect of urethane was examined in the field occurred slope failure. The formed urethane and sprayed urethane admixed with seed was applied to protect the slope failure in this study.
Excavation in a big city is different from excavation in a local area because construction methods and stability are directly connected in a loss of life. Especially, estimate of rock mass slope stability is excuted by more detail and safty work. In this study, we are made reserches in rock mass slope stability and safety method that the slope is closed by elementary school in a big city. The result of many field study and numerical analysis is shown up direct reinforcement used to anchor.
Rainfall-induced landslides in a weathered granite soil slope have mostly relative shallow slip surfaces above the groundwater table The pore-water pressure of soil above the groundwater table is usually negative. This negative pore-water pressure(or matric suction) has been found to make a large contribution to the slope stability. Therefore, the variation of in-situ matric suction profiles with time in a soil slope should be understood. In this study, a field measurement program was carried out from June to August, 2001 to monitor in-situ matric suctions and volumetric water contents in a weathered granite soil slope. The influence of climatic conditions on the variation of in-situ matric suctions could be found to decrease rapidly with depth. It could be found that decrement of matric suction induced by precipitation is affected not only by the amount and duration of rainfalls but also by the initial matric suction just prior to rainstorms. The soil-water characteristic from the field monitoring tends toward the wetting path of SWCC obtained from the laboratory test.
This study was focused on analyse Nonpoint source characteristics from Flat slope field and Steep slope field. We performed Storm-water monitering for obtain flow data and concentration data. Totally, eleven times Event was occurred. We calculated EMC(Event Mean Concentration) and Pollutants Loads using data we obtained. As a result, steep slope field has more discharge than flat field. SS value, one of the water quality contents, has largest variation and T-N has least variation. There is runoff differences even though events has same rainfall. We assume that not only amount of Rainfall, but also Rainfall Duration Times, Intensity, Number of Previous Non-precipitation days can affect to Run-off.
Slope reliability analysis and risk assessment for spatially variable soils under rainfall infiltration are important subjects but they have not been well addressed. This lack of study may in part be due to the multiple and diverse evaluation indexes and the low computational efficiency of Monte-Carlo simulations. To remedy this, this paper proposes a highly efficient computational method for investigating random field problems for slopes. First, the probability density evolution method (PDEM) is introduced. This method has high computational efficiency and does not need the tens of thousands of numerical simulation samples required by other methods. Second, the influence of rainfall on slope reliability is investigated, where the reliability is calculated from based on the safety factor curves during the rainfall. Finally, the uncertainty of the sliding mass for the slope random field problem is analyzed. Slope failure consequences are considered to be directly correlated with the sliding mass. Calculations showed that the mass that slides is smaller than the potential sliding mass (shallow surface sliding in rainfall). Sliding mass-based risk assessment is both needed and feasible for engineered slope design. The efficient PDEM is recommended for problems requiring lengthy calculations such as random field problems coupled with rainfall infiltration.
This study was conducted to suggest develop revegetation methods and to classification of cutting-rock slopes revegetation type. The data was collected from pre-experienced data, reports and journal. Also research result was reflected from field research for the conditions of construction, vegetation types and field conditions. As the result of analyze, the factors affecting the plant coverage rates of cutting-rock slopes were period of construction, revegetation methods, slope gradient and slope length. Classification of cutting-rock slopes revegetation type was fourth from material of revegetation measures and spray type. It is recommended to adjust the proposed factor as environment, field condition and characteristic related with revegetation measures on slopes for the presentation of revegetation standard.
