Quality Characteristics of Korean Domestic Commercial Meoru Wines (국산 시판 머루 와인의 품질 특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigate quality characteristics of Korean domestic commercial meoru wines, 8 kinds of wines were purchased from the Korea Wine Festival in 2016 and we compared the characteristics and physiological activity of 8 domestic wine. The results of this study have shown that the alcohol contents of wines ranged from 9.8 to 14.3%, pH of wines ranged from 3.86 to 4.22 and the total acidity of wines ranged from 0.56~0.75%. The hue value of meoru wines ranged from 0.81 to 1.02, The brightness of meoru wines ranged from 0.77 to 5.55, the redness from 3.97 to 31.16, and the yellowness from 0.99 to 5.63. The organic acid analysis of wine revealed lactic acid content at 4.281~9.606 mg/mL, followed by malic acid, tartaric acid, and acetic acid. The concentrations of total polyphenol and anthocyanin contents in the samples were investigated by spectrophotometric methods. Total polyphenol contents of the M8 (172.24 mg%) wine was higher than those of the other wines and total anthocyanin contents represented from 356.69 to 601.33 mg/mL. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of meoru wines was between 57.23 to 73.98%. Volatile flavor component analysis of meoru wines identified 7 alcohols, 16 esters, 5 acids, 3 terpenes and 4 other compounds.

  • Today we seem to be flooded with digital culture as the age of information has reached its peak. As fusion culture has been generalized, in which the arts and culture of the East and the West are in harmony, and quality of life has been improved, people are enjoying more abundant cultural benefits than ever. In such a situation, we may lose the origin of our culture and disregard our traditional culture due to the mixture of cultures. In addition, it is necessary at this point to distinguish pure culture from mixed one and to re-illuminate the value of our original culture for the next generation. Therefore, the author took interested in Dongraeyaryu, a large-scale festival in Busan, which has been designated as an important intangible cultural property, and carried out a research for its continuous instruction and activation. among contents such as music, costume, dancing and stage properties that compose intangible cultural property, this study selected costume, which has significant visual effects and large differences in shape between old one and contemporary one, for development. By proposing modernized design of costume preferred by the new generation and in harmony with the masks, this study wished to narrow the generation gap, to direct young people's attention to the learning of tradition and to propose motives that activate the culture of local festival.

Big Data Analysis for Strategic Use of Urban Brands: Case Study Seoul city brand "I SEOUL U" (도시 브랜드의 전략적 활용을 위한 빅데이터 분석 : 서울시 도시 브랜드 "I SEOUL U" 사례)

  • In this study, text mining analysis was performed on online big data for recognition and assessment of urban brand I Seoul U. To this end, TEXTOM, a processing program for data acquisition and analysis was used, and the 'I SEOUL U' keyword was selected as an analysis keyword. Keyword analysis shows the keywords associated with I Seoul U to be as follows: First, as a business and marketing term, keywords include pop-up store, gallery, co-branding, (festival, etc.), commodities, private companies and online. Second, as an event-related term, keywords include Han River, tree-planting day, tree planting, Hongdae, Christmas, Mapo, Jung-gu, Sejong University, and festival. Third, as a promotional term, keywords include robotics engineer Dr. Dennis Hong, Government, Art and Korea. In the N Gram analysis, as the city brand of Seoul, I Seoul U, in the public interest, was found to contribute to the commercial activities of private companies. In connection-oriented analysis, business and marketing, events, and promotions have been derived as categories. In matrix analysis, it was found that the products of the pop-up store are mainly developed, and products in the form of co-branding were being developed. In the topic modeling, a total of 10 topics were extracted and needs for commercial utilization and information for event festivals were mostly found.

  • Based on the capabilities of smartphone cameras which have developed rapidly in recent decades, coupled with and the global market penetration rate, it will study the possibility of various international exchanges through smartphone filmmaking. This aims to achieve a civilian-oriented cultural exchange, instead of simply providing capital-oriented exchanges and film production education. The Smartphone Film Workshop was held as an auxiliary event of the Korea-Vietnam Film Festival, which ran from November 17 to 22, 2017. The three-day workshop, which took place within the festival period, drew attention for its international collaboration project between Korean film directors and Vietnamese film students. The researcher conducted practical-based research while participating as a mentor at this workshop. A step-by-step approach to the entire process of production and post-production was administered, including workshop team composition, scenario, and pre-production in Korea such as shooting equipment, schedule, completion of local works, and screening. Through an analysis of exchange cases at international workshops, we will use trial and error as ways to improve and consider the results of cultural exchanges and the effects of future expectations. Taking this empirical case study into account, we anticipate more active international exchanges through the smartphone workshops.

  • The goal of this study is analysing a box office success of The Handmaiden in terms of modified space-time and character. The movie which has original novel induces desire of watching by decreasing property of experience good of movie based narrative of novel. Contrary to novel that is set in Victorian age, the movie changed contents that make a character who realizes masculine of colonialism and women oppressed by man escape through transcending class by adopting period of Japanese occupation. It hereby decreases negative effect by substituting growth and solidarity of women for the element of homosexuality. Also the gender discussion about crimes against female when the movie was running increases factor of sympathy of characters and accord with subject of the movie. Beside that, The reasons of success are detector, star system of actor, effective public marketing of movie trailer and selection of movie won the award for best picture at a film festival.. Movie through adapting novel enhances ability of various creation and blow up appreciation of spectator. The differentiation of adapted hit movie is that the altered content is creative, has subject that corresponding with universal awareness transcending space-time and expresses property of media effectively.

Meaning of 'Labor' and Aesthetic in Dardenne Brothers' Films (다르덴 형제 영화에서 '노동'의 의미와 형식미학)

  • Dardenne brothers' films deals with minorities' issues who are shoved out to periphery of society, and especially takes interest in value-deprived human life in labor market of today. This study examines such social awareness of Dardenne brothers targeting their latest works awarded in Cannes Film Festival, , , , , . And analysis is attempted about Dardenne brothers' unique formal aesthetical style that exactly captures such social awareness. In Dardenne brothers' films a person shows up who faces abject matter of living. Their agony is closely connected to unemployment, and shows images of irresistible anxiety and alienation. Dardenne brothers' images are not only simple platform with contents embodied, but designed form showing essential thematic consciousness. Location and gaze, motion of camera capturing a character makes us to reflect the situation a character is facing in the world. There are almost no regard about plots, no dramatic devices, superficial and even straightforward, but Dardenne brothers' films have such independent formal aesthetic, which makes able to give endless tension.

A Plan of Graffiti Utilization as Convergence Design on Urban Cultural Contents (그라피티(Graffiti)를 활용한 도시 문화콘텐츠 융합 디자인 방안)

  • This study discusses on the city-culture contents convergence design strategy which can be linked to the identity of the city through applying the graffiti on old-town of Dongducheon. First, the background and cultural asset of Dongducheon were researched. Second, the places revealing the identities were investigated. Third, the interviews with the college students in the city were performed. As the result, we found that using graffiti gains positive reaction as the reinforcement factor for the city identification. The exotic image made up by US military presence is evaluated as an important factor for the city identification. The Rock Festival is a representative cultural event derived by the cultural influence from the US military and is one of the crucial elements for the city identification. In this study, graffiti was proposed as the visual expression which can be harmonized with this culture and be reinforced for the city identity. Results of the study concludes with the strategy for the application of graffiti with the expectation for the improvement of city image of Dongducheon through the change of identity, urban regeneration, and making of pollution-free culture.

A Study of the Relationship between City Branding and Event Content (도시 브랜딩과 이벤트 콘텐츠의 관계에 대한 연구)

  • In the age of global competition, city brand is a significant element for establishing a city's competitiveness. City branding is the process of building a storytelling about cities' content. Among the various contents that differentiate cities, this study seeks to discuss the role of an event and a city brand in the process of city branding based on the city marketing and event tourism literatures. This research uses grounded theory and a case study to examine Seoul exploring the changes in the Hi Seoul Festival and the Hi Seoul city brand over the last two decades. The qualitative research includes a secondary data analysis based on case studies from domestic and foreign regions and their festivals. The analytical results indicted three limitations: inconsistency, a lack of identity, and political leverage. Based on the limitations, this study discusses the importance of the connection between city identity and event content, suggesting implications for moving forward toward a stable Seoul city branding strategy for the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

  • China is a country with large agricultural areas and subject to frequent calamities. Drought is the top of them. It has been a key problem for development of agriculture in the country. In the long struggle against drought, Chinese have accumulated many rational and irrational experiences. The Dragon Kings Belief, which is popular in North China and discussed in a thesis, is one of their irrational experiences. The belief was passed together with Buddhism from India to China in the Tang Dynasty. After it settled down, it was incorporated with the local five dragons belief and a set of beliefs in dragon kings came into existence. The emergence of the dragon kings belief ended the history that the title of rain got was not clear in China and Dragon kings finally got the status. Irrigation is the lifeblood of agriculture in China. In a Chinese mind, Dragon kings are the most important gods who take charge of rain and thus offer the lifeblood. In understanding the nature and characteristics of Chinese traditional culture, it is important for us to make clear the origin and evolution of the belief, find out its nature, function and operation. In the every year beginning of February of the Fanzhuang calendar in the people of Hebeisheng Zhaoxian, would all hold a festival to offer sacrifices to the $^{{\circ}TM}^{\prime}longpai$. Longpai was regarded as the core of the temple fair, thus the native sons came to call this festival; "longpaihui". In this region the'Fanzhuang longpaihui'developed into a well knownand grand temple fair. It was able to attract numerous pilgrims with its special magic power, occupying a place in $China^{{\circ}TM}$ 'eryueer'festival with festive dragon activities. The dragon is a common totem among Chinese nationals. The belief worship of the dragon dates from the start time of primitive societies. Dragon oneself the ancients worship's thunder lightning. In the worship of the great universe, at first afterwards this belief with the tribe's totem worships to combine to become the animal spirit. In ancient myths legends, along with folk religion and beliefs all hold a very important position. The longpaihui is a temple fair without a temple; this characteristic is a distinction between longpaihui and other temple fairs. As for longpaihui must of the early historical records are unclear. The originator of a huitou system has a kind of organized form of the special features rather, originator of a huitou not fix constant, everything follows voluntarily principle, can become member with the freedom, also can back at any time the meeting. There is a longpaihui for 'dangjiaren', is total representative director in the originator of a huitou will. 'banghui' scope particularly for extensive, come apparently every kind of buildup that help can return into the banghui, where is the person of this village or outside village of, the general cent in banghui work is clear and definite, for longpaihui would various businesses open smoothly the exhibition provides to guarantees powerfully. Fanzhuang longpaihui from the beginning of February to beginning six proceed six days totally. The longpai is used as the ancestry absolute being to exsits with the community absolute being at the same time in fanzhuang first took civil faith, in reality is a kind of method to support social machine in native folks realize together that local community that important function, it provided a space, a kind of a view to take with a relation, rising contact, communication, solidify the community contents small village, formation with fanzhuang. The fanzhuang is used as supplies for gathering town, by luck too is this local community trade exchanges center at the same time therefore can say the faith of the longpai, in addition to its people's custom, religious meaning, still have got the important and social function. An Importance and Satisfaction Analysis for Improvement Efficiency Use of Waterfront - A Focus on the Waterfront Analysis for Domestic and Foreign Dragon Boat Festival - (친수공간 이용효율성 개선을 위한 중요도·만족도 분석 - 국내·외 드래곤 보트 페스티벌을 위한 친수공간 사례로 -)

  • This study was for analyzing the external environment and internal space structure and improving the way of use efficiency in waterfront through the Dragon boat festival to utilize waterfront actively. Through from the four target area, Hongkong, Busan, Incheon and Daejeon, this study was for an importance and satisfaction analysis for users about the element effect on the waterfront use efficiency and the contribution to cultural contents revitalization of waterfront by giving basic data. The result is as follows. First, in the importance analysis about 12 items, modern cultural infra around the waterfront was ranked highest, 8.26 and waterfront landscape, square & openspaces, convenience facilities, transport, green area, quality of viewing space, historic resources, pedestrian, suitability of width, wave, depth, water quality, berth & mooring were ranked in descending order. Second, waterfront landscape was interpreted by rather the external environmental impact according to city size than the matter of spatial structure in target area and judged as an important factor effect on site selection for waterfront. In the analysis of waterfront landscape, the reason of the high satisfaction about domestic target area was that riverside parks were recently made considering their waterfront activities. Viewing space was major infra where people could experience the pleasant waterfront and watch dynamic water leisure sports like Dragon boat three dimensionally and was thought to be improved for the use efficiency. Third, tourism resources were very important element that affect the use efficiency of waterfront, so waterfront users react sensitively to modern tourism resources rather than to historic resources. This meant that tourism infrastructure for shopping and leisure of the young affected the use efficiency of waterfront, so Hongkong and Busan were in a better position in terms of using waterfront that was near the tourism infrastructure. Fourth, in the analysis of traffic accessibility, both Hongkong and Busan were high evaluated in terms of excellent traffic accessibility by subway. Daejeon was low rated in terms of the satisfaction of use efficiency, because of the relative lower place awareness compared with transportation infrastructure. In Hongkong, waterfront was connected with downtown and in Busan, housing complex and shopping centers were located in the place for users in an easily accessible on foot, so the satisfaction was high-pitched. Finally, in the importance of water surface width and the analysis of satisfaction, except Incheon, all the three were over 200m in width of water surface and this meant the surface width above certain level was interpreted to interrupt the concentration of enjoying the water leisure sports. In the analysis of surface condition such as water quality, water depth and wave, through a survey, Busan had a problem with water quality and Gapcheon in Daejeon had a problem with optimal water depth by the festival participants.
