  • In this paper. a way to analysis a corridor scene for a vehicle's automatic locomotion is presented In general, it's necessary for a vision system of vehicles to identify its positions in given environments. The suggested algorithm is to decide base lines of a corridor image using the vanishing point finding. Feature points are extracted on the base line using a base line extraction tree. This algorithm is suitable for a motorized wheelchair's self locomotion in a building.

  • We present a new text localization method in images using a multi-layer perceptron(MLP) and a multiple continuously adaptive mean shift (MultiCAMShift) algorithm. An automatically constructed MLP-based texture classifier generates a text probability image for various types of images without an explicit feature extraction. The MultiCAMShift algorithm, which operates on the text probability Image produced by an MLP, can place bounding boxes efficiently without analyzing the texture properties of an entire image.

  • Image co-registration is the process of overlaying two images of the same scene. One of which is a reference image, while the other (sensed image) is geometrically transformed to the one. Numerous methods were developed for the automated image co-registration and it is known as a time-consuming and/or computation-intensive procedure. In order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the co-registration of satellite imagery, this paper proposes a pre-qualified area matching, which is composed of feature extraction with Laplacian filter and area matching algorithm using correlation coefficient. Moreover, to improve the accuracy of co-registration, the outliers in the initial matching point should be removed. For this, two outlier detection techniques of studentized residual and modified RANSAC algorithm are used in this study. Three pairs of Landsat images were used for performance test, and the results were compared and evaluated in terms of robustness and efficiency.

  • A core technology for implementation of Augmented Reality is to develop a merging algorithm between interesting 3-D objects and real images. In this paper, we present a 3-D object recognition method to decide viewing direction toward the object from camera. This process is the starting point to merge with real image and 3-D objects. Perspective projection between a camera and 3-dimentional objects defines a plane in 3-D space that is from a line in an image and the focal point of the camera. If no errors with perfect 3-D models were introduced in during image feature extraction, then model lines in 3-D space projecting onto this line in the image would exactly lie in this plane. • In multiple object tracking, accurate detection for each of objects that appear sequentially and effective tracking in complicated cases that they are overlapped with each other are very important. In this paper, we propose a multiple object tracking system that has a concrete detection and tracking characteristics by using multi-lateral histogram and SIFT feature extraction algorithm. Especially, by limiting the matching area to object's inside and by utilizing the location informations in the keypoint matching process of SIFT algorithm, we advanced the tracking performance for multiple objects. Based on the experimental results, we found that the proposed tracking system has a robust tracking operation in the complicated environments that multiple objects are frequently overlapped in various of directions.

  • Enalish character recognition with the neural networl algorithm has been performed. Character recognition technition techniques which are processed by software, have the limit of the recognition speed. To overcome this limit, we realize this system to hardware by using the neural network algorithm. We have designed preprocessing chip using the neural nework model, that is single layer perceptorn, in the noise elimination, smoothing, thinning and feature point extraction. These chips are implemented as a CMOS double metal 2um design rule.

  • This paper proposed Residual Image detection and Color Info using the face detection technique. The proposed technique was fast processing speed and high rate of face detection on the video. In addition, this technique is to detection error rate reduced through the calibration tasks for tilted face image. The first process is to extract target image from the transmitted video images. Next, extracted image processed by window rotated algorithm for detection of tilted face image. Feature extraction for face detection was used for AdaBoost algorithm.

  • This study proposes technology using Active Shape Model to track the object separating it by depth-sensors. Unlike the common visual camera, the depth-sensor is not affected by the intensity of illumination, and therefore a more robust object can be extracted. The proposed algorithm removes the horizontal component from the information of the initial depth map and separates the object using the vertical component. In addition, it is also a more efficient morphology, and labeling to perform image correction and object extraction. By applying Active Shape Model to the information of an extracted object, it can track the object more robustly. Active Shape Model has a robust feature-to-object occlusion phenomenon. In comparison to visual camera-based object tracking algorithms, the proposed technology, using the existing depth of the sensor, is more efficient and robust at object tracking. Experimental results, show that the proposed ASM-based algorithm using depth sensor can robustly track objects in real-time.

  • Human faces have been broadly studied in digital image and video processing fields. An appearance-based method, the adaptive boosting learning algorithm using integral image representations has been successfully employed for face detection, taking advantage of the feature extraction's low computational complexity. In this paper, we propose a face-detection postprocessing method that equalizes instantaneous facial regions in an efficient hardware architecture for use in real-time multimedia applications. The proposed system requires low hardware resources and exhibits robust performance in terms of the movements, zooming, and classification of faces. A series of experimental results obtained using video sequences collected under dynamic conditions are discussed.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme of motion tracking based on fuzzy inference (FI)and wavelet transform (WT) from image sequences. First, we present a WT to segment a feature extraction of dynamic image . The coefficient matrix for 2-level DWT tent to be clustered around the location of important features in the images, such as edge discontinuities, peaks, and corners. But these features are time varying owing to the environment conditions. Second, to reduce the spatio-temporal error, We develop a fuzzy inference algorithm. Some experiments are peformed to testify the validity and applicability of the proposed system. As a result, proposed method is relatively simple compared with the traditional space domain method. It is also well suited for motion tracking under the conditions of variation of illumination.
