본 논문에서는 넓은 충전 전압 범위와 V2G 기능을 갖는 급속 충전기용 DC-DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터는 SRC(Series Resonant Converter)와 2상 Buck/Boost 컨버터로 구성된 2-stage 구조로써 넓은 충전 전압 범위에 적합하며, 배터리 충전뿐만 아닌 V2G(Vehicle to Grid) 동작이 가능하다.

As the demand for high-rise buildings increases, the demand for high-speed elevators is also increasing. In order to make a high-speed elevator, a method is needed to reduce the weight of the elevator's components, which is a constraint on the increase in speed. As a measure to reduce the weight, it is possible to remove the traveling cable for power and signal supply. Since the weight of the traveling cable varies depending on the position of the carriage, it is difficult to compensate the weight using the counter weight. The power supply is a structure in which a brush-rail type power input terminal is installed in the elevator hoistway to receive power in a contact-type manner while the carriage is moving. If a small-capacity ESS is installed in a passenger car, power can be supplied uninterruptedly inside the passenger car. A small-capacity ESS charging system to be applied to such an elevator system is required to perform several functions. First, the passenger Car must be able to charge as much as possible even during high-speed operation. A control algorithm with high responsiveness is required because charging starts and ends repeatedly by the partially installed input power stage. In addition, if the input-side line impedance is large due to the structure of the system and the response characteristic is increased, the stability of the system may be lowered. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a control algorithm that has a stable steady-state output while having a fast response in a transient state. To verify the proposed control algorithm, simulation was conducted using PSIM, and the performance of the controller was verified by manufacturing a prototype buck conveter charger.
Charger infrastructure facilities are designed and installed based on a constant power supply. Initially designed charging facilities support charging of rapidly growing electric vehicles on a limited power supply basis. In addition, current commercial vehicles can only be fully charged, and are supported by the rapid equalization charging method. However, commercial vehicles operate according to a set schedule, so flexible charging is essential. In this paper, we propose a power operation method with more than 20% efficiency improvement by using a fixed schedule-based charging scheduling and power distribution technique of a commercial bus based on the same amount of power in accordance with the rapid growth and increase of electric vehicles.

There is an increasing demand for efficient high power/weight auxiliary power supplies for use on high speed traction application. Many new conversion techniques have been proposed to reduce the voltage and current stress of switching components, and the switching losses in the traditional pulse width modulation (PWM) converter. Especially, the phase shift full bridge zero voltage switching PWM techniques are thought must desirable for many applications because this topology permits all switching devices to operate under zero voltage switching(ZVS) by using circuit parasitic components such as leakage inductance of high frequency transformer and power device junction capacitance. The proposed topology is found to have higher efficiency than conventional soft-switching converter. Also it is easily applicable to phase shift full bridge converter by applying an energy recovery snubber consisted of fast recovery diodes and capacitors.
Due to steady increase of electric power demand and decrease of load factor, the economic and reasonable operation of electric power system is necessary. Because of this reason, dispersed battery energy storage system(BESS) with fast response is receiving attractive attention. With these considerations, 20 kVA BESS is designed and tested to investigate the possibility of BESS application to power system. This paper describes the design specifications of simulator and test results. BESS is composed of batteries, conversion equipments, interconnecting equipments to power system, and control parts of the system. The inverter of BESS can carry out two functions as charger and discharger. Also, it can operate as a VAR compensator by four quadrant operation. Since this system is designed as a simulator of MW system, the conceptual design of MW system is possible by using the test result of test system The study of BESS is preliminary stage for the future MW class BESS.

In this study, a battery charge and discharge regulator of modular type is designed as paralleled bi-directional converter that is possible to provide the power without failure not only in the steady state but also in the transient period by the step load variation or the unexpected faults among the converter modules. Each converter module is designed to get stability, performance, reliability, and maintainability and the average current mode method used for controller has the advantages such as noise immunity, fast response, and the real average current signal acquisition. The equivalent model and small signal model for the paralleled battery chargerIdischarger are presented, and also the transfer functions are analyzed for the CCM(Continuous Charge Mode), CDM(Continuous Discharge Mode) and DDM(Discontinuous Discharge Mode). The experiments of the paralleled bi-directional converter are carried out in the step load variation, and in faults of one converter module respectively. And the performance of paralleled bi-directional converter is verified via the experimental results.

This paper describes the development of a powertrain for a 20 kW experimental electric vehicle using a surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) and its application to a test vehicle. Two 10 kW SPMSMs are used in the powertrain, and two-level inverters are developed by using IGBTs to derive these motors. To control the SPMSM, a control board based on a TMS320F28335 DSP module, which has fast arithmetic function and floating point operator, is used. We develop a 100 V/40 A battery pack, which includes $32{\times}4$ LiFePO4 battery cells using commercial BMS. A commercial on-board charger with 220 V (AC) input and 100 V (DC) and 18 A output is used to charge the battery pack. The performance of the developed vehicle, such as acceleration availability, maximum speed, and maximum power, is estimated based on vehicle dynamics and verified through experiments.

The environmental regulations are being strengthened all over the world, and the introduction of electric vehicles are actively being considered to cope with them effectively. It is essential to establish a charging infrastructure, which is an essential element of electric vehicle distribution. In this paper, power line communication technology essential for smart charging infrastructure is studied. A control board capable of achieving a physical layer speed of 10Mbps and a TCP/IP layer of 4.5Mbps, which conforms to the ISO/IEC 15118 international standard, and a control board mounted on the board and compliant with international standards. We have developed a software solution to perform functions for linking. In addition, in order to be applied to the combo-type DC fast charger, the hardware was designed to meet the industrial environment standard and the V2G communication module was developed by integrating it with the software solution.

In this study, factors affecting the efficacy of EV charging infrastructure improvement were investigated for EV users on Jeju Island. This study analyzed satisfaction with the EV charging infrastructure and demographic factors that affect the efficacy of EV charging infrastructure improvement. Factors found to affect the efficacy of EV charging infrastructure improvement include a sufficient number of charger installations, the speed in using EV chargers, the ease of obtaining additional information about charging, and fast customer service for faulty chargers. It was also confirmed that demographic factors such as user's housing types had a significant effect. This study contributes to verifying user satisfaction with the construction of EV charging infrastructure throughout Jeju Island.

Lithium-ion batteries are used in many fields due to their high energy density, fast charging conditions, and long cycle life. However, overcharging, over-discharging, physical damage, and use of lithium-ion batteries at high temperatures can reduce battery life and cause damage to people due to fire or explosion due to damage to the protection circuit. In order to reduce the risk of these batteries and improve battery performance, the characteristics of the charging and discharging process must be analyzed and understood. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the charging and discharging characteristics of lithium-ion batteries using a battery charger and discharger and simulator to reduce the risk of loss of life due to overcharge and overdischarge, as well as casualties from fire and explosion due to damage to the protection circuit.
