The aim of this paper was to analyze the determinants of farm household income in the Gyeongbuk province. Data from 5,254 villages in the Gyeongbuk province were used. The main results are as follows. First, the percentage of self-supporting villages for fishing villages was 10.8%, which was higher than the average of 6.4%; however, the percentage of self-supporting villages for mountain villages was only 2.7 percent. Second, the level of income was estimated to positively correlate with the ratio of the roof improvement rate, a sisterhood relationship, farming households, and the number of people under the age of 14. Finally, the results show that variables such as age, farming percentage, roof improvement ratio, and a sisterhood relationship were significant. When the percentage for the roof improvement ratio was higher, the ratio for a sisterhood relationship with another city was higher, and when the proportion of farmers was higher, the average income of the village was higher. Based on the results from the above analysis, the following policy implications are suggested. First, the income levels of rural villages in the 1970s are related to the Saemaul project in Korea. In other words, the Saemaul project contributed to improving the farming household income by direct and indirect methods. Second, it can be seen that it is important to develop policies that take into account different village types within rural areas.
According to "The Renewable Energy 3020 Implementation Plan", offshore wind power accounts for 12 GW of the total new capacity of 48.7 GW. Like the south-west 2.5 GW offshore wind farm case, government-led development has had difficulty in securing the residents' acceptability. This study contributes to the study of local acceptance by analyzing the perceptions of Maldo residents. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with the head of a village and fishing village chief, and the entire contents of the interview were revised and analyzed. The cognitive structure of the stakeholders could be confirmed using semantic network analysis, which analyzes the network structure among words. Based on the analysis results, focusing on the identity frames related to the compensation process from previous national projects, gain vs. loss frames act as the dominant frame in terms of profits from offshore wind turbines. To invigorate offshore wind farms, the policy implications as follows. First, a negotiation organization should be organized to deal with strategic opposition by fishes. Second, installing offshore wind farms on a public water body will result in demands for compensation from various actors, and a licensed fishing territory as an offshore wind farm installation site should be considered.

The purpose of this study was to set and analyze the utilization of the substituted agricultural land in the Dongtan new town in Hwa-seong city. The results of this study were as follows. In the respect of the land efficiency and utilization, the need of the agricultural land in the Dongtan has shrunk. Therefore, the land should be reconsidered and developed as other purposes. The land could be developed as the weekend farm for the city people. The weekend farm is currently gaining popularity because the citizens want to not only experience the nature but also get a healthy food. So, the land in the new town could provide them with a good place. And the Han-ok(Traditional Korean style housing) is recently in the limelight of many people because of its healthy function and the special aesthetic, so the agricultural land of Dongtan could be a great opportunity to develop the Han-ok village. Lastly, the logistics center for agricultural products could be proposed. Because the traffic condition of the new town is satisfactory, the land is idealistic as the logistics center which connect the capital with the local. These practical uses of agricultural land in the Dongtan new town will be able to provide opportunities to improve the quality of life in the area and develop the land more efficiently.

Farm mechanization has been rapidly progressed in rice farming since the 1980's, in Korea. The mechanization has been achieved up to 95-97% in the year of 1995, except irrigation and drying process. However, rice production cost remains much more expensive than the cost of other rice farming countries. Since labor cost shares a major portion of the production costs, it is essential to save labor cost with automation and more sophisticated mechanization. However, it requires great capital investment which causes farm management worse. Therefore, the computer program was developed which can select machines to minimize the management and maintenance cost by analyzing available working days in different areas, machinery to purchase, farming size, total farming size in a village, number of machines and custom fee.

The agricultural population, the farming, the agriculture of our country has been decreased more rapidly than those of other countries. Also, the changing speed of the rural village in Korea has shown a similar trend. By considering the urbanization process and migration state caused by the economic growth and the increasing level of relative poverty in comparison with the urban area, it has been necessary to go through the impoverishment and slum-orientation of the rural area. In our country, the rural village became old age. So, the collapse is predicted to a population shortage if such trend is continued in the village society. according to investigate, Many urban peoples have opinion that migrates to a farm village. but those not migrate to rural community. In this study, it provides the diagnostic index for the rural landscape formation. For the development of diagnostic index, this study first analyzed documents and papers on the landscape formation. Landscape types are also classified by their function and then landscape index was developed by AHP method. Classification system was categorized as three steps: 2 items for 1st step, 10 items for 2nd step, and 20 items(criteria) for 3rd step. In the survey of weighting values with AHP method, the analysis result for the first step showed that rural village landscape is more important than landscape around the village by approximately 20%. In the second step, residence is rated as the most important, followed by village tree planting, and then farmland around the rural villages, greenery, and water environment. In the third step, the feng shui is rated as the most important, followed by tree planting, village forest, culture, and history. While vehicle maintenance, village alleys and pedestrian facilities are rated lower. In index of the around the village, weighting value for index of the farm land and skyline has the highest value. While species richness, water quality and water resources were rated relatively low. In the future, the rural landscapes diagnosis index will be applied to measure the level of the rural villages landscapes and it is expected to propose political support for the landscapes formation.

As the measures for solving problems of modern city and farming & fishing villages through mutual cooperation and complementation, this study aims to present an integrated rural area development model by changing the farming & fishing villages from a food production-focused space to a service space for the whole nation including urban residents, into the direction of creating new vitality and jobs in farming & fishing villages. In order to establish a service space that could increase the life quality and happiness of the people, this study presented the K-FARM framework types that would integrate and arrange total four themes such as rental farm, experience farm, stay farm, and management farm. In case when this K-FARM framework is applied to rural areas adjacent to cities, especially farming & fishing villages around innovative cities, there would be great effects such as expansion of exchanges between public institutions and local residents of innovative cities. Especially, the theme model classified into four types could be applied suitable for the characteristics of farming & fishing village development project district that is currently operated. Meanwhile, to realize the construction of K-FARM framework, on top of demand analysis of rental farm, it would be also necessary to additionally analyze the urban residents' demand for experience farm and management farm.

The purpose of this research is to present basic data for the residents, experts, and administrators to establish sustainable and future-oriented experience villages by investigating the operational realities of rural and mountain experience villages that have currently been promoted as the government-supported projects. First, in order to establish a sustainable experience village, each of the residents, experts and administrators who are the principal agents for cultivating the village should perform their role appropriately and build an organic cooperative system. The residents should have a sense of ownership and form a sense of solidarity by organizing communal consultation system. The experts should be able to present feasible project plans. The administrators need to have posture of understanding from the viewpoint of residents. In order to establish sustainable experience villages, ecological, cultural, and social values should be conveyed preferentially, and through this, the living spaces like farm villages should be formed.
