Proposal of a sustainable K-Culture Festival Strategy (한국문화축제 전략 제언)

  • It is a time when a sustainable Korean Culture Festival strategy is needed. The Korean Culture Festival is a Hallyu Culture Festival that comprehensively introduces various Korean cultures such as Korean food, beauty, and fashion with the focus on K content, which has been leading the global craze since 2020. As the core project of the promotion of Neo Hallyu by the Ministry of Culture and Gymnasium, the 2021 Korean Culture Festival, which was based on the World K-Pop concert and the K-Culture Fan Fair, including holding the first face-to-face concert that applied the stage of real-world content after Covid-19, as well as conducting and exhibiting various fan participation challenges, must now make the leap to the global Hallyu Culture Festival. To this end, it can consist of drama, K-pop, K-Culture Fan Fair, K-Meetup, K-Culture Parade, and Awards. This distinction shows a classic festival program centered around the prosumer content that drives the Korean Wave, and in order for this philosophy to be effectively linked to its contemporaries, a Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) 'Techtainment Strategy' is needed to acquire potential customers through learned playfulness.

Power of SNS Authenticity on Company Reputation (기업명성과 SNS 진정성의 영향력 연구)

  • SNS is in the process of fast evolution as well. This study is about influence of authenticity and interactivity among Facebook Fan Page users. Authenticity is something people form in the process of expressing and sharing information thru SNS Facebook Fan Page. Interactivity is a level of participation of users in the process of expressing and sharing information thru SNS Facebook Fan Page. The focus of this paper is to see the power of authenticity and interactivity of SNS Facebook Fan Page users in a time of crisis. Authenticity is proven as a valuable asset for corporations for it showed a sturdy characteristic even when something terrible happened. When a crisis attacked, high authenticity user group was not willing to change their evaluation on a company reputation and image as much as low authenticity user group. Interestingly enough, the meaning interactivity level was strikingly different from what we expected. The more their level of interactivity, was the more they were likely to change their evaluation on a company in a time of crisis. A serious discussion is necessary for this contraty results.

The Online Live Broadcasting and Fandom Formation Process of the Audition-Turned-Star: Phantom Singer 3 Kang Dong-Hoon's Fan Cafe (오디션 출신 스타의 인터넷 라이브 방송과 팬덤 형성과정: 팬텀싱어3 강동훈 팬카페를 중심으로)

  • Since 2009, stars produced through audition programs have appeared through the process of establishing familiar ties with viewers, unlike stars created by entertainment agencies. This study is a case study that examines the characteristics, roles, and identity of internet live broadcasts (Labang) of vocalists Kang Dong-hoon and his fan cafe(fan community) who appeared in JTBC Phantom Singer 3 in 2020. As a result of the study, fans gathered around SNS even before the fan cafe was created, at their request, 'Labang' began. "Labang" is a "freely participating talk show" in which fans actively participate. This brought about the bond of fans, a sense of belonging, and the activation of fandom. Both stars and fans recognized "Live Broadcast" as "a window of communication to get to know each other," and expressed satisfaction that they could see the sincerity of familiar and unpretentious stars, not unrealistic images reproduced on TV through "immediate comment communication." "Labang" consists of a variety of contents, including stars' daily lives, music activities, broadcast appearances, and hobbies, and is showing "aesthetic differentiation" from those who do not watch "Labang" while sharing the daily lives of stars and fans with active participation.

  • Core technologies of powerplants, which are necessary for the development of Korean type combat aircraft, are analyzed. And then, the acquisition methodologies for the technologies are proposed. With respect to the aircraft engine design and manufacturing technologies, simple basic technologies such as component manufacturing and assembling technology come to close to those of advanced countries, but the core technologies were not acquired or in the understanding level only. Therefore, the research on the component manufacturing technology should be specialized for buildup of international competition first, and the research on core technologies such as high pressure compressor design, blisk, FADEC and hollow fan blade design should be concentrated step by step by taking an active participation in the development project of international cooperative aircraft powerplants.

  • Social networking service (SNS), which is based on the "six degree separation" theory, has gained its popularity in recent years. SNS creates a new way for maintaining relationship and sharing information over the virtual space. As a major branch, campus SNS provides a new platform for student to study as well as build and maintain inter-personal relationships. The highly realness of personal information and relatively strong group cohesion of campus SNS has turned it into an inevitable tool in students' daily life. The rapid growth of SNS in campus is creating huge academic and commercial benefits. However, little comprehensive research reveals what are determinant factors in driving students' intention to participate in campus SNS. In this paper, we conceptualize the participation of campus SNS as a social behavior and evaluate the impact made by social factors such as subjective norms and identity, as well as the impact of perceived reality and playfulness through an extended technology acceptance model.

  • This study investigates in depth of the new marketing trend, in which social media, an effective marketing tool for promoting a new product, and gamification technic of engaging consumers in communication, are combined. Although gamification has been applied to various fields for a long time, conventional way of applying gamification is different from when it is combined with socialmedia. Therefore, this study examines the background and characteristics of the convergence phenomena between the social media and gamification based on the theoretical consideration of the social media and gamification. Then, the cases of social media marketing utilizing gamification are analyzed and classified into general participation, active participation, creative behavior, networking, and experiential type according to the user's different levels and ways of participation. As a result, when the social media and gamification are combined, the change of an aspect is found to be more meaningfully influential to today's consumers as in competition - achievement - relationship, compared to the conventional way of game mechanics. This study has significance in the way that it established a useful basis for the marketing strategy through the study of the new game mechanics that has been applied to social media marketing utilizing gamification.

The Impact of Public Pension on Chinese Household Consumption

  • Purpose: The improvement of the social security system can greatly affect residents' future uncertainty, and it is important to study the relationship between public pensions and household consumption. Research design, data and methodology: Using the 2018 China Household Panel Survey (CFPS) data, the instrumental variable method is used to analyze the impact of pension insurance on urban residents' consumption. Results: The results of the study show that there are differences in the impact of three different pension insurance systems on household consumption. The pension insurance for public sector significantly boosts household consumption, and having a pension insurance for public sector can increase household consumption by 7.7%. The pension insurance for enterprise employee will reduce household consumption, but this is only significant for urban households. The pension insurance for urban and rural residents has a negative impact on household consumption. For the 16- to 39-year-old group, having a pension insurance for urban and rural residents will reduce household consumption by 5.7%. At the same time, household income, assets, scale, and education level will positively stimulate household consumption. Conclusions: The study reveals varying impacts among different pension types, highlighting the need for optimizing social security schemes to incentivize higher consumption rates.

Case Study of Using Facebook of Each Type of Internal and External Sports and SPA Fashion Brands (소비자 활동 지표를 통한 국내외 스포츠, SPA 패션 브랜드의 페이스북 활용 사례연구)

  • This study selected a case study method conforming to qualitative research in order to analyzed how each type of fashion enterprises uses SNS in-side of fashion marketing based on content the researcher monitored and selected from the Facebook website for each enterprise. The standard to select fashion brands in this study is a graded list made based on ranking 5 analysis sites on social media (Socialbakers, socialDigm, Pulse K, BigFoot9, L2). The researcher sorted and then analyzed 2 brands that have many fan joiners and followers among fashion brands that were ranked top of the graded list, work in Facebook animatedly, and had representativeness in each type (SPA, Sports Brands). The study was conducted from January 2013 to March 2013, and the index of Facebook consisted of 3 kinds of elements (comment, like, and share). Each numerical value was counted to decide the monthly ranking. Content analysis was divided into public relations about brand, public relations about products, and customer participation and activities; consequently, the researcher investigated which content was post conforming to the ranking. The study analyzed the analysis results of each brand derived through the method of study compared to other brands. The results are as follows. In case of SPA brands, the category accounting for high rank in index analysis are public relation events to attract customer attention and products and offering information. The results of the monthly trend about whole post category were also similarly analyzed so the promotion goal that the brand wants to seek in priority coincides with the customer compliance rate. Next, in the case of sports brand, public relations for products offering information, event for arousing customer concern, and participation activities accounted for a high rank in the index analysis and posted the most in the analysis of the monthly trend for whole post category. The researcher came to understand that the direction of content for brands shown through Facebook coincides with customer sympathy.

Analysis of Spectator Factors of Seongnam Football Club Spectators

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study, we will evaluate and analyze the importance and performance of Seongnam Football Club visitors using IPA analysis to present new marketing strategies and improvement plans based on the basis of the audience's perception of the team's priority, low priority, and excessive effort. Research design, data, and methodology: In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted on 120 home spectators of Seongnam Football Club, and the analysis of the data was conducted using SPSS Window Version 21.0. Data were analyzed via frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, corresponding sample t-test, and IPA analysis. Findings are as follows. Results: First, the first quadrant showed 'The convenience of access to the stadium', 'Parking lot convenience', 'Tournament schedule guidance', 'Providing information about player', 'Providing information about the team', 'Ticket reservation method'. Second, the second quadrant showed 'Players' fan service', 'Cleanliness of toilets', 'A player's level of performance', 'Team's level of play', 'A match against a rival team'. Third, the third quadrant showed 'Indication of facility guidance', 'Seat comfort', 'Team's Star Player Possession', 'Various participation events', 'Gift recommendation'. Fourth, the fourth quadrant showed 'Player-related promotion through media', 'Promote match schedules through media', 'Entrance convenience', 'Ticket Price'. Conclusions: Based on these findings, Factor in first quadrant, fourth quadrant should be kept. On the other hand, factors in second quadrant should be improved as soon as possible while factors in third quadrant can be improved through new marketing strategies in the future. Future implications were discussed.

K-POP fandom and Korea's national reputation: An analysis on BTS fans in the U.S. (K-POP 팬덤과 한국의 국가 명성: 미국의 BTS 팬 중심 분석)

  • Objectives: This study aims to discover how the spread of K-POP and the diversification of the Korean Wave affects Korea's national reputation. K-POP stars are diversifying their interactions with fandom by creating an online space to consume various products and services related to their stars and engage in fan activities. Because of this, this study aims to examine the relevance of K-POP to national reputation through a parasocial relationship with K-POP stars by fandom forming a community and utilizing media. Methods: An online survey was conducted in English using the Amazon survey company Mechanical Turk for BTS fans living in the United States. A total of 195 people's data, excluding incomplete responses, were used for the analysis. Results: It was found that BTS fans' social media participation activities themselves did not directly affect Korea's national reputation. But the mediating effect of BTS fans' parasocial relationship was found. That is, BTS fans' social media participation activities had a positive effect on their parasocial relationships with BTS which in turn had a positive effect on their national reputation. Conlusions: The use and participation of BTS fans in social media in Korea's national reputation has no significant effect on itself, but it has been found that it affects the national reputation through forming parasocial relationships. From the study results, the parasocial relationship of K-POP fans can be used as a strategic mechanism to enhance the national image and Korea's national reputation.
