The effects of a four-week weight control program including nutrition, exercise, behavior modification and meditation were studied in 15 obese children who resided in the Chuncheon area. There were no differences in anthropometric value, health perception, self-esteem and nutrition knowledge before and after the nutrition education program. Food behavior significantly improved after the program, especially in the area of binge eating (p〈0.05). Consumption of ramyon and fried chicken significantly decreased (p〈0.05). These results showed that short-term nutrition education programs did not do enough to change the anthroppometric value of study subject. These results suggest that it is necessary to include parents in nutrition education programs for greater effectiveness. And there is a need to develop an apply systematic nutrition education programs to reduce the weight of obese children.

With the advent of computers, CAD systems are widely used for various design practice. Complexity of CAD systems and difficulty of exchanging data among different CAD systems, however, do not allow efficient use as desired. In addition, to follow variety of designers' need, CAD activities should be customized. This article proposed a methodology fer developing an intelligent CAD system and the sate-of-the-art technologies described fur customizing CAD systems using API (Application Programming Interface). A basic platform is proposed and a useful application system is implemented to enable a parametric design by directly inputting numerical values on a CAD model. Based on this application, we developed a system that makes it possible to share part family data between SolidEdge and Pro/Engineer. The proposed concept on intelligent CAD systems facilitates integration of external systems such as CAE tools and promotes the use of CAD for both engineering designers and analysts.

Optimum preparation conditions for chicken head soup base were determined in terms of the effects of amount of chicken head and cooking time using response surface methodology based on sensory properties. Sensory properties that were evaluated were yellowness, turbidity, bloody, chicken-brothy, organ meat-like, and fat-like flavor. All values of sensory characteristics increased remarkably with an increase in the amount of chicken head and cooking time. The optimum amount of chicken head and cooking time were determined to be 1800 g and 150 minutes, respectively. Chicken head soup base had less fat, free amino acids, nucleotides, and its derivatives, but had significantly more cholesterol, sodium, and iron than whole chicken soup base. In flavor compound analysis, the amount of hexanal of the chicken head soup base, which is related to fat rancidity flavor, was 11-fold higher than that of the whole chicken soup base.

In this paper, we present some results on weak laws of large numbers for weighted sums of fuzzy random variables taking values in the space of fuzzy numbers of the real line R. We first give improvements of WLLN for weighted sums of convex-compactly uniformly integrable fuzzy random variables obtained by Joo and Hyun (2005). And then, we consider the case that the averages of expectations of fuzzy random variables converges. As results, WLLN for weighted sums of convexly tight or identically distributed case is obtained.

The better mean residual life at $t_0\;(BMRL-t_0)$ class of life distribution is introduced by Kulasekara and Park (1987). They proved that the $BMRL-t_0$ class contains the DMRL class, but it is a proper subclass of the NBUE class. In this paper we develop a new family of tests for testing exponentiality against the $BMRL-t_0\;(WMRL-t_0)$ alternatives based on the goodness of fit approach. It is shown that the suggested test is better than the one introduced by Kulasekara and Park (1987) in the sense of Pitman asymptotic efficiency values.

Purpose: This concept analysis was done to clarify 'uncertainty in epilepsy'. Methods: Walker and Avant's methodology guided the analysis. In addition, the concept was compared with uncertainty in other health problems. Results: 'Uncertainty in epilepsy' was defined as being in the condition as seen from the epilepsy experience where cues were difficult to understand because they changed, were in discord with past ones, or they had two or more contradictory values at the same time. Uncertainty in epilepsy is evolved from appraisal of the epilepsy experience. As a result, uncertainty leads epilepsy patients, their family or health care providers to impaired functioning and proactive/passive coping behavior. Conclusion: Epilepsy patients with uncertainty need to be supported by nursing strategies for proactive, rational coping behavior. This achievement has implications for interventions aimed at changing perception of epilepsy patients, their families or health care providers who must deal with uncertainty.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impacts of consumers' demographic characteristics on their involvement in retired communities, under the assumption that consumers' involvement in retired communities would be a preceding factor of the consumers' preferences for retired communities. One of the major findings of this study was that there were statistically significant differences in the involvement in retired communities by several demographic variables such as age, gender, level of education, income, total family asset, consumer values, and pursuit of happiness. Second, such involvement was strongly correlated with consumer preferences. Third, the community management styles, such as sales and rental conditions, significantly influenced consumers' level of preference. The results from this study could provide useful information not only for understanding the residents of retired communities, buffer enhancing the welfare of residents of retired communities.

This study was to calculate the minimum food expenditure by using OR linear program, and to determine the food plans for different income values based on the recommenced dietary allowances(RDA) for Koreans. VAX 11/780 system was used in this study. There were 6 family models-single man, single woman, married couple, couple with one child, couple with 2 children and couple with 2 children & grandmother. The market price quoted in this study was from July 1989 to June 1990 and the data file was made from RDA & food composition tables. After the minimum food expenditure was calculated from the computer, the low cost food plan was set. From the low cost food plan, we set the moderate cost food plan 25% above the low cost and the liberal food plan 50% above the low cost. One week menu was planned for different food plans. The low cost food plan could be used not only at the institutional levels and at home but also used at the national food policy making for scientific budget planning and for nutritionally well balanced diet. These food plans could control the use of time and efforts, too.

The computer is an important tool to design an engineering system and CAD systems are widely used for various design practice. To meet the market requirements, the old mass production system is being changed into the mass customization system. As for CAD systems, it is increasingly required to extend, automate, and customize a wide range of functionality. This article describes the state-of-the-art of the principal technologies for customizing CAD systems. And we have implemented an application that enables the parametric design by directly inputting numerical values of parameters for a CAD model. Based on this application, we have developed another system that makes it possible sharing of part family data between SolidEdge and Pro/Engineer. Through customization of CAD systems, it is possible to improve the product quality using external knowledge-based systems or to integrate with external system such as CAE tools. This paper can be a guide for engineering designers who want to customize CAD systems.
