Analysis of Sliding Friction and Wear Properties of Clutch Facing for Automobile (Part 1) (자동차용 클러치 마찰재의 미끄럼마찰마모특성 해석(제1보 마모특성))

  • The wear properties of clutch facing materials with two different copper amounts were evaluated against the fly-wheel materials used in clutch system, such as gray cast iron and spheroidal graphite cast iron. Sliding wear tests were carried out for four different combinations with these clutch facing materials and flywheel materials at different speeds and applied loads. Results showed that the clutch facing material contained a higher copper amount had the better wear resistance. And using the gray cast iron as the counter material, clutch facing material resulted in the much lower wear rate, regardless of the copper amount. It is obvious that the wear properties of clutch facing material are influenced from the thermal conductivities of the clutch facing material and the counter material.

  • In previous paper, the wear properties of clutch facing materials with two different copper amounts against fly-wheel materials used in the clutch system were investigated by sliding wear tests at different applied loads and speeds. This paper have been aimed to evaluate the friction properties for clutch facing materials at the same test conditions as the previous paper. The experimental results indicated that the friction properties of clutch facing materials are influenced from the thermal conductivities of the clutch facing material and the counter material. The clutch facing material with the lower thermal conductivity and the fly-wheel material with the higher thermal conductivity showed the low and stable friction coefficient in the range of high sliding speed. This appears to be due to the formation of a film on the surface of the fly-wheel material.

  • In this paper, connection strength between facing block and tie-bar was investigated through experimental study with varying in-fill material such as concrete, soil and crushed stone. Also, connection strength between anchor block and tie-bar was investigated with varying in-fill material. According to the experimental results, in case of using in-fill concrete, connection strength between facing block and tie-bar was larger than allowable tension load of tie-bar. Whereas in case of using in-fill soil or crushed stone, connection strength between facing block and tie-bar was less or similiar to allowable tension load of tie-bar. Connection strength between anchor block and tie-bar for which crushed stone was used as in-fill material, was larger than allowable tension load of tie-bar.

  • In this paper we have investigated discharge conditions(parameters of this experiment) in facing targets sputtering system and fabricated $Al_{N}$ thin films. The parameters of this study are diameter of wing(d) and distance(L) between two facing targets. Varing discharge conditions, the discharge characteristics are wide different. The optimal conditions in this experiments are d = 6.5 [cm], L = 6.5[cm]

  • We report on electrical and optical properties of flexible ITO electrode grown on PET substrate using a specially designed roll-to-roll facing target sputtering (R2R FTS) system at room temperature without conventional cooling drum. Due to effective confinement of high density plasma between ITO targets, we can grow a flexible ITO electrode without cooling drum at room temperature.

  • Tungsten (W) is used as a facing material for nuclear fusion reactors, and it is used in conjunction with structural materials such as copper alloy (CuCrZr), graphite, or stainless steel. On the other hand, since tungsten is a material with a high melting point, a method that can be manufactured at a lower temperature is important. Therefore, in this study, tungsten, which is a facing material, was attempted to be manufactured using a pressure sintering method. Material properties of sintered tungsten materials were analyzed for each solvent using two types of solvents, acetone and polyethylene glycol. The sintered tungsten material using acetone as a solvent exhibited a hardness value of about 255 Hv, and when polyethylene glycol was used, a hardness value of about 200 Hv was shown. The flexural strength of the sintered tungsten material was 870 MPa and 307 MPa, respectively, when acetone and polyethylene glycol were used as solvents. The sintered tungsten material using acetone as a solvent caused densification between particles, which served as a factor of increasing the strength.

  • This study is about the difference of South and East facing Cooling load of Apartment s Houses using Dynamic Heat-flow Calculation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is come in to use Material for the Thermal Environments of Apartment Houses. The results of the analysis are below. (1) For the peak load of degree hour; The highest is "I" unit and the next high load is H, F, E, C, B, G, D and A unit for the south facing Apartment houses. The higher load is "H" unit and the next high load is I, E, F, B, C, G, D, A Unit for the east facing Apartment houses. (2) For the total load of degree day; The highest load is "I" unit and the next high load is H, G, F, E, C, B, D and A Unit for the south facing Apartment houses. The highest load is "H" unit and the next high load is I, G, E, F, B, C, D, A Unit for the east facing Apartment houses.   • We prepared ZnO thin film with Facing Targets Sputtering system that can deposit thin film in plasma-free situation and change the deposition condition in wide range. And prepared thin films c-axis orientation and grain size were analyzed by XRD(x-ray dffractometer). In the results, we suggest that FTS system is very suitable to preparing high quality ZnO thin film with good c-axis orientation.

  • Shuttered Co-Cr thin films have been developed continuously as one of the major candidates for high density recording media. In this study, Co-26at%Cr thin films with c-axis oriented h.c.p. structure prepared by a improved facing targets sputtering system. We find that the effect of microstructural changes of sputtered Co-Cr thin films on magnetic properties and changes of crystal orientation due to variation substrate temperature.

  • ZnO(Zinc Oxide) thin films were deposited on glass substrate by Facing Targets Sputtering. Facing Targets Sputtering system can deposit thin films in plasma-free situation and change the sputtering conditions in wide range. The characteristics of ZnO thin films deposited at variation of sputtering conditions films thickness, power and substrate temperature were evaluated by XRD(x-ray diffractometer), ${\alpha}$-step (Tencor). The excellently c-axis oriented ZnO thin films were obtained at sputter pressure ImTorr, power 150W, substrate temperature 200$^{\circ}C$. In these conditions, the rocking curve of ZnO thin films deposited on glass was 3.3$^{\circ}$.
