This study examined dynamic and characteristics and chloride penetration of concrete mixed with large amount of FA and BFS, which are considered for positive application to construction fields with purpose of long-tern durability of concrete structures. As a result of strength test on FA and BFS, FA concrete showed higher increase of strength compared to OPC, when FA4000 and FA5000 were mixed 30%, respectively. For BFS concrete, those mixed with 30% and 50% of BFS8000, respectively, showed higher or equivalent strength compare to OPC. As a result of test of chloride penetration on FA and BFS, diffusion coefficients of concrete mixed with 30% FA4000 and FA5000, respectively, showed to restrain average 6.5% of diffusion coefficient compared to OPC. And in case of BFS concrete, those mixed with BFS6000 and BFS8000, restrained diffusion of chloride ions 253% and 336%, respectively, compared to OPC. Therefore, Mixing 50% of BFS was most efficient in order to maximize restraint of chloride penetration according to metathesis of large amount. For relation between compression strength and diffusion coefficient of FA and BFS concrete, as strength increased, diffusion coefficient decreased. In this study, when mixing FA and BFS to concrete for long-run durability and restraint against chloride penetration, for FA, mixing it to concrete with less or equivalent 30% of replacement rate was most efficient. And for BFS, as fineness was higher and mixing it to concrete with less or equivalent 50% of replacement rate, there were results of higher strength compared to OPC and more efficient restraint of chloride ions.

In this study, the effect of blast furnace slag and gypsum addition on strength development of fly ash substituted concrete is investigated experimentally. As a result, the fluidity represented a similar or larger level than that of OPC but showed a tendency to decrease the fluidity according to the increase in the replacement level of BS and GS for the FA replacement concrete. In the case of the air content, although it showed a larger decrease compared to that of OPC, it also represented that BS and GS did not affect the air content significantly. Regarding the compressive strength in the case of the replacement of BS and GS for the FA 10% replacement concrete, it showed a higher early strength than OPC. Whereas, in the case of the BS 5% replacement and GS 1% incorporation for the FA 10% replacement concrete showed the most excellent performance due to its high strength. In the correlation of the compressive strength according to the kinds of admixtures, it was evident that the GS incorporation played an important role in high strength gain.

This study analyzed is to investigate the effect of the combined use of fly ash and coarse particle cement(RCC) collected in particle classification method during ordinary portland cement(OPC) on the fundamental properties of concrete. Totally 16 batches of the concrete was fabricated vary the contends of FA and RCC. As results of experiment, in the case of flow, the more the contents of RCC, the larger the flow. And the more the contents of FA displacement rate increased, the less the flow. As for simple adiabatic temperature rise due to the RCC and FA contents, it decreased with the increase of them. And particularly in the case of RCC 30% + FA 30%, temperature rise amount, was very low. Compressive strength decreased in proportion to increase of the contents of FA and RCC. And strength ratio of the concrete incorporating FA and RCC for plain concrete at 28 days was 88%${\sim}$98%, which was relatively good results.
The present study proposed a k-value to determine the water-to-binder ratio of concrete using fly ash (FA) or ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) as a partial replacement of ordinary portland cement (OPC) with regard to an equivalent strength of OPC concrete. From the regression analysis using an extensive database including 7076 concrete mixes, k-values were determined for various water-to-binder ratios when the replacement ratio of OPC by the addition of FA or GGBS were below 50%. For deriving an equation to identify k-value, the relationship of concrete compressive strength and water-to-binder ratio was generalized by an exponential function. In general, k-values decreased with the increases in the addition of FA or GGBS for replacement of OPC and water-to-binder ratio. The rate in decreasing k-value against water-to-binder ratio was marginally affected by the addition of FA or GGBS, although a higher k-value was commonly obtained for GGBS concrete than for FA concrete at the same water-to-binder ratio. Consequently, the determined k-values were simplified as a function of water-to-binder ratio and the addition ratio of FA or GGBS as replacement of OPC.
In the paper, durability performance in FA (Fly Ash) blended concrete is evaluated considering replacement of FA with TDFA (Tire Derived Fuel Ash) from 3.0% to 12%. TDFA is a byproduct from combustion process in thermal power plant, where chopped rubber is mixed for boiling efficiency. This is the 1st study on application of TDFA to concrete as mineral admixture. For the work, concrete samples containing 0.5 of w/b (water to binder) ratio and 20% replacement ratio of FA are prepared. With replacing FA with TDFA to 12%, durability performance is evaluated regarding compressive strength, carbonation, chloride diffusion, and porosity. The results of compressive strength, carbonation, and porosity tests show reasonable improvement in durability performance to 12% replacement of TDFA. In particular, clear decreasing diffusion coefficient is observed with increasing TDFA replacement due to its packing effect. Concrete containing TDFA can be effective for durability improvement when workability is satisfied in mixing stage.

This paper presents experimentally investigated the effects of pozzolan made from various by-Product materials on mechanical properties of mortar. Fly ash(FA), slag (BFS), and palm oil fuel ash (POFA) were partially used to replace Portland cement. The results suggest that mortars containing FA, BFS, and POFA can be used as pozzolanic materials in making concrete with 28day compressive strength. After curing, the mortar containing 10-30% FA or POFA, and 30% BFS exhibited compressive strengths that of the original Portland cement (OPC). The use of FA, POFA, and BFS to partially replace Portland cement has evaluation method of the Assessed Pozzolan-activity index.(API)

In this study, accelerated chloride diffusion tests were performed on OPC(Ordinary Portland Cement) and FA(Fly Ash) concrete considering three levels o f W/B(Water to Binder) ratio o n 1,095 curing days. The accelerated chloride diffusion coefficient and the passed charge were evaluated in accordance with Tang's method and ASTM C 1202, and the resistance performance to chloride attack improved over time. FA concrete showed excellent resistance performance against chloride penetration with help of pozzolanic reaction. As the result of the passed charge, FA concrete showed durability improvement, "low" grade to "very low" grade, but OPC concrete changed "moderate" grade to "low" grade at 1,095 curing days. After assuming the design variables used for durability design as normal distribution functions, the service life of each case was evaluated by the probabilistic analysis method based on MCS(Monte Carlo Simulation). In FA concrete, the increase of probability of durability failure was lower than that of OPC concrete with increasing time, because the time-dependent coefficient of FA concrete was up to 3.2 times higher than OPC concrete. In addition, the service life by probabilistic analysis was evaluated lower than the service life by deterministic analysis, since the target probability of durability failure was set to 10%. It is considered that more economical durability design will be possible if the mo re suitable target probability of durability failure is set for various structures through researches on actual conditions and indoor tests under various circumstances.

The shear strength and strain of reinforced concrete beams are predicted by using the Transformated-Angle Truss-Model. This proposed analytical method simplified the fixed-angle softened-truss model (FA-STM) and removed the limitation of applicability of the FA-STM. The results of the proposed method for reinforced concrete beams were compared to those of the FA-STM.

This paper investigates the properties of high fluidity concrete incorporating lime stone powder and fly ash. Lime stone powder(LSP) and fly ash(FA) contents are varied with. According to test results, as LSP and FA contents increase, fluidity, air content and placeability shows a declining tendency. For the temperature history, both LSP and FA have favorable effects on reducing hydration heat, moreover, LSP reduces hydration heat more than FA. LSP shows undesirable strength loss as its content increases. FA also decreases the strength at early age, but it enhances later age strength. Accordingly LSP is expected to improve the quality at fresh concrete and reduce hydration heat, while it causes strength loss.

This study, having combined and displaced fly ash known as admixture material that delays hydration reaction with coarse particle cement("CC" hereinafter) collected in particle classification method during ordinary portland cement("OPC" hereinafter), reviewed the hydration heat characteristics affecting the concrete. To reduce hydration heat, the study plain-mixed which used 100% OPC for WB 50% level 1, displaced CC at level 3 of 25%, 50% and 75% for OPC, and by displacing FA with admixture material at level 5 of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%, experimented totally 16 batches. As a result of experiment, in the case of flow, the more CC displacement rate increased, the more it tended to decrease, and the more FA displacement rate increased, the more it decreased. As for simple adiabatic temperature rise by the CC and FA displacement rates, it decreased as displacement rate increased, and particularly in the case of FA40, temperature rise amount, $5.8{\sim}7.4^{\circ}C$, was very low. Compressive strength decreased in proportion to displacement rate, however strength reduction increment was shown to decrease with age progress.
