  • Jacket matrices which are defined to be $n{\times}n$ matrices $A=(a_{jk})$ over a field F with the property $AA^+=nI_n$ where $A^+$ is the transpose matrix of elements inverse of A,i.e., $A^+=(a_{kj}^-)$, was introduced by Lee in 1984 and are used for signal processing and coding theory, which generalized the Hadamard matrices and Center Weighted Hadamard matrices. In this paper, some properties and constructions of Jacket matrices are extensively investigated and small orders of Jacket matrices are characterized, also present the full rate and the 1/2 code rate complex orthogonal space time code with full diversity.

  • This paper shows that using the multivariable controller reduces the magnitude of fluctuations of the control signals which result improved control of the steam generator outputs. Comparison of the performance of the multivariable weighted adaptive controller(MWAC) with the performance of the existing PI controller and the self_tuning controller/1/, when the system goes through a transient mode, shows that the out-puts stay closer to their set points when they are controlled by the adaptive controller.

  • Human-error and mental stress caused by psychophysiological dissonance between people and artificial environments have become a social problem. And it is a common knowledge that comfort environment reduces human-error and mental stress. Comfort sensibility is related to complex interactions between fabric, climatic, physiological and psychological variables. Currently, comfort sensibility has been evaluated by many sensory tests. However, it is difficult to evaluate comfort sensibility because a concrete concept of comfort sensibility is hard to define. In this paper, we propose a model to evaluate the comfort sensibility using Fuzzy-weighted score on an individual's subjective state for the stimulus. To represent the degree of comfort sensibility level for the stimulus, we represent comfort sensibility using 2 dimensional sensibility vector model. And we use the fuzzy-weighted score that is a fuzzy version of the weighted checklist technique computerized for evaluating the subjects. As an example, this model is applied to 1/f fluctuation sound evaluation. The results show that this model can be effectively used to the quantitative evaluation of comfort sensibility for the stimulus.

  • In this paper, we show that a complete translating soliton Σm in ℝn for the mean curvature flow is stable with respect to weighted volume functional if Σ satisfies that the Lm norm of the second fundamental form is smaller than an explicit constant that depends only on the dimension of Σ and the Sobolev constant provided in Michael and Simon [12]. Under the same assumption, we also prove that under this upper bound, there is no non-trivial f-harmonic 1-form of L2f on Σ. With the additional assumption that Σ is contained in an upper half-space with respect to the translating direction then it has only one end.

  • Most functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies in resting state have assumed that the functional connectivity (FC) between time series from distinct brain regions is constant. However, increased interest has recently been in quantifying possible dynamic changes in FC during fMRI experiments. FC study may provide insight into the fundamental workings of brain networks to brain activity. In this work, we focus on the specific problem of estimating the dynamic behavior of pairwise correlations between time courses extracted from two different brain regions. We compare the sliding-window techniques such as moving average (MA) and exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA), dynamic causality with vector autoregressive (VAR) model, dynamic conditional correlation (DCC) based on volatility, and the proposed alternative methods to use differencing and recursive residuals. We investigate the properties of those techniques in a series of simulation studies. We also provide an application with major depressive disorder (MDD) patient fMRI data to demonstrate studying dynamic correlations.

  • In this article, we study the weak and extra-weak type integral inequalities for the modified integral Hardy operators. We provide suitable conditions on the weights ω, ρ, φ and ψ to hold the following weak type modular inequality $${\mathcal{U}}^{-1}\({\int_{{\mid}{\mathcal{I}}f{\mid}>{\gamma}}}\;{\mathcal{U}}({\gamma}{\omega}){\rho}\){\leq}{\mathcal{V}}^{-1}\({\int}_{0}^{\infty}{\mathcal{V}}(C{\mid}f{\mid}{\phi}){\psi}\),$$ where ${\mathcal{I}}$ is the modified integral Hardy operators. We also obtain a necesary and sufficient condition for the following extra-weak type integral inequality $${\omega}\(\{{\left|{\mathcal{I}}f\right|}>{\gamma}\}\){\leq}{\mathcal{U}}{\circ}{\mathcal{V}}^{-1}\({\int}_{0}^{\infty}{\mathcal{V}}\(\frac{C{\mid}f{\mid}{\phi}}{{\gamma}}\){\psi}\).$$ Further, we discuss the above two inequalities for the conjugate of the modified integral Hardy operators. It will extend the existing results for the Hardy operator and its integral version.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with the blow-up phenomena for a class of pseudo-parabolic equations with weighted source ut - △u - △ut = a(x)f(u) subject to Dirichlet (or Neumann) boundary conditions in any smooth bounded domain Ω ⊂ ℝn (n ≥ 1). Firstly, we obtain the upper and lower bounds for blow-up time of solutions to these problems. Moreover, we also give the estimates of blow-up rate of solutions under some suitable conditions. Finally, three models are presented to illustrate our main results. In some special cases, we can even get some exact values of blow-up time and blow-up rate.
