  • The specific heat capacity and density of soybean oil and soy protein composing of the soybean curd were measured between $30^{\circ}C\;and\;-40^{\circ}C$. The thermal conductivity of soybean oil was measured to be 0.160 and 0.140, $W/m{\cdot}K$ at unfrozen and frozen states, respectively. The effective thermal conductivity of the soybean curd depended not only on its water content but also on its fat and protein contents.

  • Let ${\kappa}$ be a positive integer and let G be a simple graph with vertex set V(G). A function f : V (G) ${\rightarrow}$ {-1, 1} is called a signed total ${\kappa}$-dominating function if ${\sum}_{u{\in}N({\upsilon})}f(u){\geq}{\kappa}$ for each vertex ${\upsilon}{\in}V(G)$. A set ${f_1,f_2,{\ldots},f_d}$ of signed total ${\kappa}$-dominating functions of G with the property that ${\sum}^d_{i=1}f_i({\upsilon}){\leq}1$ for each ${\upsilon}{\in}V(G)$, is called a signed total ${\kappa}$-dominating family (of functions) of G. The maximum number of functions in a signed total ${\kappa}$-dominating family of G is the signed total k-domatic number of G, denoted by $d^t_{kS}$(G). In this note we initiate the study of the signed total k-domatic numbers of graphs and present some sharp upper bounds for this parameter. We also determine the signed total signed total ${\kappa}$-domatic numbers of complete graphs and complete bipartite graphs.

  • For the site characterization at two inland areas, Gyeongju and Hongsung, which represent geomorphic and geologic characteristics of inland region in Korea, in-situ seismic tests containing borehole drilling investigations and resonant column tests were peformed and site-specific seismic response analyses were conducted using equivalent linear as well as nonlinear scheme. The soil deposits in Korea were shallower and stiffer than those in western US, from which the site coefficients and site classification system in Korea were derived. Most sites were categorized as site classes C and D based on the mean shear wave velocity $(V_s)$ of the upper 30 m $(V_s30)$, ranging between 250 and 650 m/s. According to the acceleration response spectra determined from the site response analyses, the site coefficients specified in the current Korean seismic design guide underestimate the ground motion in the short-period band and overestimate the ground motion in mid-period band. These differences can be explained by the differences in the bedrock depth and the soil stiffness profile between Korea and western US. The site coefficients, $F_a$ for short-period and $F_v$ for mid-period, were re-evaluated and the site classification system, in which sites C and D were subdivided according to $V_s20,\;V_s15,\;and\;V_s10$ together with the existing $V_s30$ was introduced accounting for the local geologic conditions at inland region of the Korean peninsula. The proposed site classification system in this paper is still rudimentary and requires modification.

  • Morphological and physiological differences of $Colocasia$ $esculenta$ were investigated in the cultivation of hydorphonic and soil culture. $C.$ $esculenta$ grown in Hoa.+IAA (indole-acetic acid) showed higher growth activity representing 9%, 32%, 38% and 60% than those of the cultivation of vermiculate, Hoagland solution, soil and water, respectively. In case of $F_v/F_m$ ratio experiments, the value $F_v/F_m$ of $C.$ $esculenta$ cultivated in the water showed 0.55 after 6 weeks. $F_v/F_m$ values of $C.$ $esculenta$ cultivated in Hoagland+IAA, vermiculate and soil were between 0.84 and 0.80 indicating $F_v/F_m$ values were about 45% higher than that of $C.$ $esculenta$ cultivated in the water. Diffusion resistance was 45~35% lower in $C.$ $esculenta$ grown in Hoa.+IAA solution than that of $C.$ $esculenta$ grown in water only after 5 and 6 weeks. Therefore, the high standing levels of the growth rate, fluorescence activity and transpiration rate were Hoa.+IAA, vermiculate, Hoagland, soil and water. The distinct morphological differences of $C.$ $esculenta$ cultivated in hydorphonic and soil culture were the appearance of the seed corm and root hair. The development of seed corm was well established in soil culture but the corm in hydorphonic was slowly hydrolyzed and then disappeared. The fibrous root systems of hydorphonic were very well distinguishable compared with that in soil culture. Outstanding results of this experiment were appeared in $C.$ $esculenta$ which was cultivated in the field provided with enough mineral nutrition, organic fertilizers and compound fertilizers. The most height taros were almost 2m and the numbers of seed corm were 30~40 after 7 months.

  • In [7], Th.M. Rassias proved that the norm defined over a real vector space V is induced by an inner product if and only if for a fixed integer $n{\geq}2$ $${\sum_{i=1}^{n}}\left\|x_i-{\frac{1}{n}}{\sum_{j=1}^{n}}x_j \right\|^2={\sum_{i=1}^{n}}{\parallel}x_i{\parallel}^2-n\left\|{\frac{1}{n}}{\sum_{i=1}^{n}}x_i \right\|^2$$ holds for all $x_1$, ${\cdots}$, $x_n{\in}V$. Let V, W be real vector spaces. It is shown that if an even mapping $f:V{\rightarrow}W$ satisfies $$(0.1)\;{\sum_{i=1}^{2n}f}\(x_i-{\frac{1}{2n}}{\sum_{j=1}^{2n}}x_j\)={\sum_{i=1}^{2n}}f(x_i)-2nf\({\frac{1}{2n}}{\sum_{i=1}^{2n}}x_i\)$$ for all $x_1$, ${\cdots}$, $x_{2n}{\in}V$, then the even mapping $f:V{\rightarrow}W$ is quadratic. Furthermore, we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of the quadratic functional equation (0.1) in Banach spaces.

  • Composite scintillation screens on a base of Gd1.2Y1.8Ga2.5Al2.5O12:Ce (GYAGG) scintillator have been evaluated for neutron detection. Besides the powdered scintillator, the composite includes 6LiF particles; both are merged with a binder and deposited onto the light-reflecting aluminum substrate. Results obtained demonstrates that screens are suitable for use with a silicon photomultiplier readout to create a prospective solution for a compact and low-cost thermal neutron sensor. Composite GYAGG/6LiF scintillation screen shows a pretty matched sensitivity and γ-background rejection with a widely used ZnS/6LiF screens however, possesses forty times faster response.

  • This paper relates 10% shrink from $0.13{\mu}m$ design for logic devices as well as input and output (I/O) circuits, different from the previous shrink methodologies which shrink only core device. Thin gate oxide was changed to decoupled plasma nitridation(DPN) oxide as a thin gate oxide (1.2V) to reduce the flicker noise, resulting in three to five times lower flicker noise than pre-shrink process. Unavoidable issue by shrink is capacitor for this normally metal insulator metal (MIM). To solve this issue, 20% higher unit MIM capacitor ($1.2fF/{\mu}m^2$) was developed and its performance were evaluated.

  • Let M be an R-module, where R is a commutative ring with identity 1 and let G(V,E) be a graph. In this paper, we study the graphs associated with modules over commutative rings. We associate three simple graphs $ann_f({\Gamma}(M_R))$, $ann_s({\Gamma}(M_R))$ and $ann_t({\Gamma}(M_R))$ to M called full annihilating, semi-annihilating and star-annihilating graph. When M is finite over R, we investigate metric dimensions in $ann_f({\Gamma}(M_R))$, $ann_s({\Gamma}(M_R))$ and $ann_t({\Gamma}(M_R))$. We show that M over R is finite if and only if the metric dimension of the graph $ann_f({\Gamma}(M_R))$ is finite. We further show that the graphs $ann_f({\Gamma}(M_R))$, $ann_s({\Gamma}(M_R))$ and $ann_t({\Gamma}(M_R))$ are empty if and only if M is a prime-multiplication-like R-module. We investigate the case when M is a free R-module, where R is an integral domain and show that the graphs $ann_f({\Gamma}(M_R))$, $ann_s({\Gamma}(M_R))$ and $ann_t({\Gamma}(M_R))$ are empty if and only if $$M{\sim_=}R$$. Finally, we characterize all the non-simple weakly virtually divisible modules M for which Ann(M) is a prime ideal and Soc(M) = 0.

  • $F(ab`)_2$-ELISA and direct antigen coating-ELISA (DAC-ELISA) were evaluated in the detection of purified Bombyx mori nuclear polyhedrosis virus (BmNPV) and nuclear polyhedrosis virus infection in silkworm larvae inoculated with BmNPV polyhedra. Although nanogram levels of BmNPV was detected in both DAC- and $F(ab`)_2$-ELISA, similar concentrations of antigen was detected in case of F(ab’)$_2$-ELISA even at higher dilution of antibody (up to 1 : 20 K). One hundred percent nuclear polyhedrosis infection was detected 6 hrs after inoculation in BmNPV infected silkworm larvae by $F(ab`)_2$-ELISA. On the other hand, detection of 100% infection was observed only three days after inoculation in DAC-ELISA. In this study, it was observed $F(ab`)_2$-ELISA was more sensitive than DAC-ELISA in the detection of purified BmNPV as well as nuclear polyhedrosis infection in silkworm larvae.

  • The supercapacitors were fabricated using silver (Ag) nano paste and activated carbon paste on the polyimide (PI) film and 5% potassium polyacrylate (PAAK) was used for gel electrolyte. In this paper, the current collector film and the electrode film were fabricated using screen printing. The thickness of printed silver paste was $7.3{\mu}m$ and the sheet resistance has the range of $5-7m{\Omega}/square$. An activated carbon with a surface area of $1,968m^2/g$, an electronic conducting agent (SUPER P, TIMCAL) and poly (4-vinylphenol) were mixed in 2-(2-buthoxyethoxy) ethyl acetate (BCA) with a ratio of 7:1:3 to fabricate the electrode paste. To analyze electrochemical characteristics, cyclic voltammetry was performed to evaluate the stability of the devices under the voltage range of -0.5-0.5 V. The calculated specific capacitances were 44.04 and 8.62 F/g for 10 and 500 mV/s scan rates, respectively.
