동적위치제어시스템을 이용한 선박의 실선스케일 횡이동시험에 관한 연구 (A Study on Full-Scale Crabbing Test Using Dynamic Positioning System)

  • This study aims to investigate the crabbing motion of the research vessel "NARA" by full-scale maneuvering trials. The crabbing test method refers to ITTC recommended procedures and guidelines. In order to minimize the fluctuation of the heading angle due to the external force acting on the hull during the pure lateral motion, the tests are conducted using the dynamic positioning system applied to the ship. The test results are analyzed by applying a low-pass filter to remove the noise included in the measurement data. Three conditions are set to define the steady state of crabbing motion. The index to be derived from the crabbing test is quantitatively presented. The ship is confirmed to be capable of the lateral motion of up to 0.844m/s in Beaufort 3.

Ship Monitoring around the Ieodo Ocean Research Station Using FMCW Radar and AIS: November 23-30, 2013

  • The Ieodo Ocean Research Station (IORS) lies between the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) boundaries of Korea, Japan, and China. The geographical positioning of the IORS makes it ideal for monitoring ships in the area. In this study, we introduce ship monitoring results by Automatic Identification System (AIS) and the Broadband 3GTM radar, which has been developed for use in small ships using the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technique. AIS and FMCW radar data were collected at IORS from November 23th to 30th, 2013. The acquired FMCW radar data was converted to 2-D binary image format over pre-processing, including the internal and external noise filtering. The ship positions detected by FMCW radar images were passed into a tracking algorithm. We then compared the detection and tracking results from FMCW radar with AIS information and found that they were relatively well matched. Tracking performance is especially good when ships are across from each other. The results also show good monitoring capability for small fishing ships, even those not equipped with AIS or with a dysfunctional AIS.

GA-LADRC를 이용한 Mariner class vessel의 선수각 제어 (GA-LADRC based control for course keeping applied to a mariner class vessel)

  • In this study, to control the heading angle of a ship, which is constantly subjected to various internal and external disturbances during the voyage, an LADRC (linear active disturbance rejection control) design that focuses more on improving the disturbance removal performance was proposed. The speed rate of change of the ship's heading angle due to the turn of the rudder angle was selected as a significant factor, and the nonlinear model of the ship's maneuvering equation, including the steering gear, was treated as a total disturbance. It is the similar process with an LADRC design for the first-order transfer function model. At this time, the gains of the controller included in LADRC and the gains of the extended state observer were tuned to RCGAs (real-coded genetic algorithms) to minimize the integral time-weighted absolute error as an evaluation function. The simulation was performed by applying the proposed GA-LADRC controller to the heading angle control of the Mariner class vessel. In particular, it was confirmed that the proposed controller satisfactorily maintains and follows the set course even when the disturbances such as nonlinearity, modelling error, uncertainty and noise of the measurement sensor are considered.

Bolt looseness detection and localization using time reversal signal and neural network techniques

  • It is essential to monitor the working conditions of bolt-connected joints, which are widely used in various kinds of steel structures. The looseness of bolts may directly affect the stability and safety of the entire structure. In this study, a guided wave-based method for bolt looseness detection and localization is presented for a joint structure with multiple bolts. SH waves generated and received by a small number (two pairs) of magnetostrictive transducers were used. The bolt looseness index was proposed based on the changes in the reconstructed responses excited by the time reversal signals of the measured unit impulse responses. The damage locations and local damage severities were estimated using the damage indices from several wave propagation paths. The back propagation neural network (BPNN) technique was employed to identify the local damages. Numerical and experimental studies were conducted on a lap joint with eight bolts. The results show that the total damage severity can be successfully detected under the effect of external force and measurement noise. The local damage severity can be estimated reasonably for the experimental data using the BPNN constructed by the training patterns generated from the finite element simulations.

자동차 송풍장치용 Slotless Outer Rotor BLDC 모터 설계 및 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design and Manufacture of Slotless Outer Rotor BLDC Motor for a Vehicle Blower)

  • 본 연구에서는 자동차 송풍장치용 slotless Outer Rotor BLDC 모터를 설계하고 제작하여 기존의 모터들의 단점을 개선하였다. 제안된 모터는 Brush를 제거하여 회전 시 DC 모터의 기계적 마찰에 의한 소음을 해결하고, 구조적으로 Slotless Air-Gap 권선을 사용하여 BLDC 모터 슬롯에 의해 발생되는 코깅 토크를 개선하였다. 그리고 외부 회전자에 Magnet을 부착시키고 내부 회전자와 동시에 회전하기 때문에 자속의 변화가 생기지 않아 구조적으로 철손을 원천적으로 줄여 높은 효율을 가진다.

Optical and Thermodynamic Modeling of the Interaction Between Long-range High-power Laser and Energetic Materials

  • This study is essential for advancing our knowledge about the interaction between long-range high-power lasers and energetic materials, with a particular emphasis on understanding the response of a 155-mm shell under various surface irradiations, taking into account external factors such as atmospheric disturbances. The analysis addresses known limitations in understanding the use of non-realistic targets and the negligence of ambient conditions. The model employs the three-dimensional level-set method, computer-aided design (CAD)-based target design, and a message-passing interface (MPI) parallelization scheme that enables rapid calculations of the complex chemical reactions of the irradiated high explosives. Important outcomes from interaction modeling include the accurate prediction of the initiation time of ignition, transient pressure, and temperature responses with the location of the initial hot spot within the shell, and the relative magnitude of noise with and without the presence of physical ambient disturbances. The initiation time of combustion was increased by approximately a factor of two with atmospheric disturbance considered, while slower heating of the target resulted in an average temperature rise of approximately 650 K and average pressure increase of approximately 1 GPa compared to the no ambient disturbance condition. The results provide an understanding of the interaction between the high-power laser and energetic target at a long distance in an atmospheric condition.

인공 신경망을 이용한 보청기용 실시간 환경분류 알고리즘 (Real Time Environmental Classification Algorithm Using Neural Network for Hearing Aids)

  • Persons with sensorineural hearing impairment have troubles in hearing at noisy environments because of their deteriorated hearing levels and low-spectral resolution of the auditory system and therefore, they use hearing aids to compensate weakened hearing abilities. Various algorithms for hearing loss compensation and environmental noise reduction have been implemented in the hearing aid; however, the performance of these algorithms vary in accordance with external sound situations and therefore, it is important to tune the operation of the hearing aid appropriately in accordance with a wide variety of sound situations. In this study, a sound classification algorithm that can be applied to the hearing aid was suggested. The proposed algorithm can classify the different types of speech situations into four categories: 1) speech-only, 2) noise-only, 3) speech-in-noise, and 4) music-only. The proposed classification algorithm consists of two sub-parts: a feature extractor and a speech situation classifier. The former extracts seven characteristic features - short time energy and zero crossing rate in the time domain; spectral centroid, spectral flux and spectral roll-off in the frequency domain; mel frequency cepstral coefficients and power values of mel bands - from the recent input signals of two microphones, and the latter classifies the current speech situation. The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm could classify the kinds of speech situations with an accuracy of over 94.4%. Based on these results, we believe that the proposed algorithm can be applied to the hearing aid to improve speech intelligibility in noisy environments.

소음도·인공지능 기반 포장상태등급 평가시스템 개발 (Development of Noise and AI-based Pavement Condition Rating Evaluation System)

  • 본 연구에서는 도로 포장 유지관리에 필요한 핵심정보를 생산해 낼 수 있는 저비용·고효율 포장상태 모니터링 기술을 개발하고자 하였다. 특히 시각정보와 고가 센서에 의존하는 기존 장비의 단점을 보완하기 위해 소음과 인공지능 기반의 포장상태등급 평가시스템을 고안하였다. 시스템 개발을 위한 아이디어 정립부터 기능 정의, 정보흐름 및 아키텍쳐 설계 과정을 거쳤으며, 생산된 프로토타입에 대한 성능 검증과 활용 전주기에 대한 실증 평가를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 높은 수준의 인공지능 평가 신뢰도가 확보되었으며, 하드웨어와 소프트웨어적 요소 외에도 시스템 활용에 관한 짜임새 있는 가이드라인이 개발되었다. 또한 현장평가 과정을 통해 비전문가도 쉽고 빠른 조사와 분석이 가능하고, 직관적인 시각적 정보 제공을 통해 관리자의 업무 지원이 가능함도 확인하였다. 반면에 학습에 고려되지 않은 외부 조건에 대한 선행 판별 기술, 시스템 간소화, 가변 주행속도 대응 기술 등 기술의 완성도 제고도 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 시작으로 1960년대 이후 반세기 이상 지속되어온 포장상태 모니터링 기술의 새로운 패러다임이 제시되길 기대한다.

인공위성 자력계에서 관측된 동아시아 암권의 지자기이상 (Recovery of Lithospheric Magnetic Component in the Satellite Magnetometer Observations of East Asia)

  • Magsat 인공위성의 자력계로부터 관측된 동아시아 (동경90도-50도, 남위10도-북위50도) 암권의 자기이상을 추출하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 ring current correction, ionospheric correction, pass-by-pass correlation등을 실시하였고, 위성트랙 잡음을 효율적으로 제거하기 위한 spectral reconstruction을 실시하였다. 최종적으로 추출된 자기이상의 신뢰도를 검증하기 위해 항공자기이상과 대비하였고, 이를 위해 항공자기이상에 low-pass필터를 적용하여 인공위성 고도에서 관측 불가능한 고주파성분을 제거하였다. 결과적으로 위성자기이상과 항공자기이상은 0.243의 비교적 낮은 상관관계를 보이나 연구지역내 많은 부분에서 양(+)의 상관관계를 갖고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 일반적으로 낮은 상관계수는 각 주파수별 성분의 양과 음의 장관계수가 혼합되어 나타나며, 따라서 본 연구와 같은 포텐셜상의 경우에는 이상체의 심도 및 누중 때문에 양과 음의 상관관계를 갖는 이상체를 분류하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 인공위성 자력계 관측값으로부터 연구지역 암권의 자기이상을 성공적으로 추출하였으며 항공자기이상과도 양호한 상관관계를 갖고 있음이 밝혀졌다.

함정 자기신호 측정용 3-축 디지털 자기센서 설계 및 제작에 관한 연구 (Design and Fabrication of Digital 3-axis Magnetometer for Magnetic Signal from Warship)

  • 본 연구에서는 함정을 자기소거시키는 과정에서 함정에 의한 자기장을 측정하기위한 3-축의 flux-gate 마그네토미터를 설계 제작하였다. 설계에서 고려한 사항은 자기장측정지점과 자기장 데이터를 수집하는 장치 사이의 거리가 수백미터로 멀기 때문에 입력전압의 변동이 커도 동작이 되게 전압 범위가 16~36 V까지 가능한 DC/DC 변환기를 사용하였고, 데이터의 전송은 자기장 측정값을 디지털로 변환 시킨 후 RS422통신으로 전송하게 하였다. 또한 함정을 자기소거 하는 과정에서 발생하는 ${\pm}1mT$ 자기장하에서도 0점의 변화가 ${\pm}2nT$ 이하가 되게 피측정자기장의 보상은 ${\pm}1mT$, 측정범위는 ${\pm}0.1mT$가 되게 제작을 하였다. 또한 수심 30 m에서도 동작되어야하는 조건을 고려하여 6기압 하에서 센서가 수밀이 되고 정상 작동이 되는 것을 확인 하였다. 마그네토미터의 일반특성으로는 선형도가 측정범위 ${\pm}0.1mT$에서 0.01 % 이상 이였고 센서의 노이즈는 1 Hz에서 $30pT/\sqrt{Hz}$이였다.
