감성주거공간디자인을 위한 신소재의 은유적 표현 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Metaphorical Expression Characteristics of New Materials for Emotional Housing Space Design)

  • This study analyzed metaphorical characteristics of composite materials in terms of a visual aspect on a new material that is applicable for housing space. The results are as follows. First, the recent trend of housing space tends to stimulate emotions of residents through visual finishing materials, and for this reason, visual expression of a new material that is applicable to finishing materials plays an important role. Second, convertibleness, association and duplicity were selected as items of metaphorical expressions through the precedent studies. Third, most of combinations of materials were shown different from the existing materials in an expressive characteristic of composite materials through analysis, and application of a technology showed a different visual effect of patterns and textures from the existing materials. This implies that visual expression and directing are being attempted using such technology on finishing materials of housing space with development of digital technologies. Fourth, for metaphorical characteristics of composite material for housing space, combination of various materials and a digital technology were applied on convertibleness. For association, a combination of materials that have each different characteristic associated with the third material, and combination with subsidiary material of optical fiber and a digital technology were appled for duplicity. Data obtained from the results of this study has high efficiency in planning finishing materials for emotional housing space in future, and it will be basic data for a study on development of new finishing materials.

톰 브라운 재킷 디자인에 나타난 섹슈얼리티 표현특성 (The Expressive Characteristics of Sexuality in Thom Browne fashion Jacket)

  • The purpose of this research is to find out the characteristics of sexuality expressed in the contemporary modern fashion jacket, especially designer Thom Browne. Thom Browne is a very successful fashion brand that has focused on design of extraordinary theme. In the research methodology, the analysis was carried out over a total of 862 work pieces in the collection of S/S, F/W, RESORT, PRE-FALL from 2010 to 2016. The characteristics of the contemporary expressions of sexualities can be subdivided into four separate categories. First, The demolition is inflated retail, exaggerated shoulder silhouettes, such as short sleeve jacket is mainly used in the form of a women's match with each other and expressed by different materials applied to men. Female jackets are designed for the silhouette to highlight the strong masculine image to highlight additional detail on the chest or vice versa, to express women's jacket to distort the female. Secondly, Sensuality is designed the body of a male was represented by a design that gives a greater masculinity was expressed that the interpretation of the male gender in detail jacket sleeves and wrap the exposed areas of the important men of fashion. Women's jacket by using a see-through material, mainly sensory Castle outward to reveal the concealed body of the female form a natural curve shows the feminine sensuality. Lastly, Incongruity is inadequate representation by sex of clothing to match the jacket and skirt in women's wear it is also unsuitable for revealing gender as male by applying soot forms. The study attempts to find the meaning in that this presents the direction of the creative development of the modern fashion design based on the aesthetic characteristics of Thom Browne fashion appearing in the modern fashion.

공유경계를 통해 본 공유주거의 계획특성 - 국내외 도심 속 사례를 중심으로 - (The Plan Characteristics of Shared Housing through the Boundaries of Shared Space - A Focusing on the case of Urban Area in Domestic and Overseas -)

  • According to Plato's ontology, we lead our lives by establishing a relationship with others in the society. However in rapidly changing era, our lives was gradually moving towards personal tendency. Even for the relationship with family, not with others. Thus, awareness about owning properties has changed due to the sociocultural factors and increase number of single-person households. So in this study, the considerations for single-person housing were perceived through preceding research, and the elements making spatial boundary of shared housing were drawn to make rational space sharing based on the boundary with others and of the living environment. With overall analysis based on the spatial boundary features of planned shared housing, the plan characteristics according to the spatial boundary of the current shared housing is to be drawn and analyzed. Third, The expressive and structural features of spatial boundary as above appear with mutual flexible connectivity, And the result shows that the modularity was the highest. Among them variable coupling modularity of shows how it is possible to combine efficiently and variously the private and public spaces with regularity of 'space of optimal unit'. This study drew plan characteristics from more detailed space border of shared housing. Therefore, The basic framework of the characteristics spin for the cases that newly emerge later on.

하시모토 유키오의 식음공간에 나타난 디자인 표현특성 (Expressional Characteristics of Interior Design Presented in the Food and Beverage Spaces of Yukio Hashimoto)

  • The food and beverage spaces of modern industrial society have transformed from a simple space for meals into a space of culture, communication and experience as society becomes more complex and diverse along side economic growth. An interior designer who is rapidly rising on this flow of change is Yukio Hashimoto. While working for interior design firm Super Potato, which highlights food and beverage spaces, he was much affected by the expression methods of representative designer Takashi Sugimoto, who makes use of natural elements. By using these expression methods that make use of natural elements in his own creation of spatial ambience and elements of experience and by adding his own differentiated expression methods, he emphasizes an effective spatial expression for food and beverage spaces. The design characteristics of Yukio Hashimoto's food and beverage spaces are as follows. First natural elements like light and water are recreated as memories of nature after being established through a methodology that allows these elements to penetrate his own thoughts. Second, he pursues a hybrid design through the harmony between past tradition and current expressive techniques. Third, he expresses objets of light through a formative sense of shape expressed with light.. Fourth, he establishes an axis in the interior space by light and structure and endows a strong directionality that induces symmetric characteristics, gaze, and movement.. Fifth, he installs lights at the bottom of weighty materials and expresses a sense of floating by light. Sixth, he uses an illusion technique that makes use of the ambiguity and depth of space resulting from reflecting materials like mirrors. The study hopes that such design expression characteristics of food and beverage spaces can be used as data for interior designers to apply and develop a new design vocabulary.

Aesthetic Characteristics of Glocalism in Flight Attendants' Uniform Design

  • This study considers the expressive types of 'Glocalism' trends and its inherent aesthetic characteristics through the analysis of flight attendants' uniform design. The following is the conclusions regarding the glocalism trend according to the analysis of airline uniform design that reflect it. First, the design approach was developed appropriating the whole or parts of traditional attire and applying decorative items in terms of a formal aspect. Secondly, the colors of the airline's homeland symbols or natural environment were used while, thirdly, the fabrics represent glocalism by employing folk elements of the region and patterns of nature for a uniform design. Induced from these design analyses, the aesthetic characteristics of airline uniforms reflecting glocalism are traditionality, naturality, and compromisability. To begin with, traditionality is what is realized in interpreting the historical aesthetics in a contemporary perspective, contributing in inspiring the historical value of the homeland and contributing to the establishment of identity by applying forms and colors of traditional garments with folk patterns on a uniform design. In addition, naturality means the reorganization of unprocessed pure nature, expressing the image of nature through colors taken from the natural environment or motifs of the regional plants. Finally, combining general sensibilities with diverse cultural features, compromisability is realized as a modern design which combines a standardized uniform with the aesthetic components of the local environment and traditional garments.

본인과 배우자의 성격특성이 결혼의 질에 미치는 영향: 남편과 부인의 비교 연구 (Personality Characteristics of the Self and the Spouse and Marital Quality : Comparison between the Husband and the Wife)

  • This study is to compare the effects of personality characteristics on marital quality of the husband and the wife. Marital quality was measured in two aspects: marital satisfaction and marital conflict. At the first step of the regression analysis, socio-demographic variables were entered, at the second step, variables of personality characteristics, and at the third step, variables of personality characteristics of the spouse were added. Age group of 35 and under is higher in marital satisfaction or lower in marital conflict than that of 36 to 40. People who grew up in Chungchung area are lower in marital satisfaction compared to those who grew up in Seoul and adjacent area, and those who grew up in Chunla area are higher in marital satisfaction. Marital conflict increases when people are less educated. Marital conflict decreases when the husband has high income. Religion is related to marital satisfaction and marital conflict of the husband. Stability is related to both marital satisfaction and marital conflict. Sociability of the wife is related to marital satisfaction and marital conflict of the husband, and responsibility of the wife is related to her own marital conflict. Responsibility of the husband is related to marital conflict of the wife. This result shows that the husband is expected to perform the instrumental role and the wife the expressive role. In, conclusion, these results should be considered when family life education programs for couples are constructed. First, family life cycle needs to be considered when family life education programs are offered. Second, regional differences in family culture should be put into consideration. Third, the idea that conjugal role relationships can be flexible needs to be included in family life education programs. Fourth, programs to improve stability, responsibility and sociability are needed for wives. Fifth, programs to improve stability and responsibility should be offered in work settings for husbands.

체험마케팅에 의한 기업의 복합문화 공간 표현특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expressive Characteristics in Multi Functional Corporate Culture Space of experiential marketing)

  • This is the time we need differentiated strategy due to consumer's standard of purchasing is becoming more complicated and corporate marketing war is intensely competitive. For a long-term strategy, making competitive corporate image is important because companies have their own competitiveness. In addition, importance of having a relationship with customer is magnified through consumers'direct and indirect experience. "The corporate complex cultural space is designed place for experiential marketing to convey its meaning to consumers." Under above concept, this study analyzed the theory of experiential marketing and conducted a survey which is based on experiential marketing strategic module (SEMs) using the analyzed theory. This study drew expression characteristics of space through case analysis and conducted a survey to have more effective corporate complex cultural space. As a result, the experience in the space enables people to understand of the space through five senses, not consist of simply chucks of sense-date, and this result emphasizes the importance of 'Event' because people tend to escape from restriction for reality to relive stress and have emotional satisfaction. In addition, it shows expression characteristics which provide sympathy as a flexible interaction through symbolical image. The result of the expression characteristics' survey is showed up to improve effect of corporate complex cultural space. This study is analyzing the corporate complex cultural space through experience marketing for the company which wants provide differentiated experience of various space expression methods and catching current position. Also, this study places its significance to give a way to increase space preference and effect of corporate complex cultural space. Based on the result of this study, I hope the future corporate complex cultural space will develop refreshingly.

중국 소수민족 묘족(苗族) 납염의 특성 (Batik characteristics of the Chinese minority Miao)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the Chinese Miao people's Batik patterns and provide data in the field of fashion design for the utilization of the traditional patterns. This study investigated and analyzed the regional characteristics of Batik dyeing, which was listed on China's national intangible cultural heritage list; Danzhai, Anshun, Huangping, and Gonghyeon. The expressive characteristics were classified into four categories: symbolism, abstraction, decorativeness, and playfulness. The results are as follows. First, symbolism can be classified into the origins of the Miao, symbols of faith, history of migration, and the symbols of status with Batik patterns from different regions, seemingly involving various symbolic implications. Due to the absence of letters, Miao people expressed their emotions and history in the design patterns. A series of developments in recent years has led to incorporating the temperament of the Miao people, history of migration, expression of emotions, and ideal hopes in Batik dyed design patterns and the symbolic functions have been significantly emphasized. Second, the decorativeness is mainly characterized by repeated patterns of the Miao Batik dyeing design. The overall patterns demonstrate design features characterized by regularization and simplification, along with a sense of rhythm with the unique arrangement of patterns. Third, the abstractness of the Batik dyeing design patterns is often found in plant and animal patterns, properly delivering new designs created by Miao women by extracting and rearranging various elements, including dots, lines, and faces shown in natural images. Fourth, playfulness is expressed by the transformation and distortion of Miao Batik patterns, and were created by applying patterns or other elements to original forms to express animal or plant patterns in a playful way.

중국 장시성 누오(儺) 가면의 특성을 활용한 3D 디지털 패션디자인 (3D digital fashion design utilizing the characteristics of the mask of Nuo, Jiangxi province, China)

  • The aim of this study was to develop Jiangxi Nuo masks using 3D digital fashion design technology and suggest various ways to utilize traditional culture based on the characteristics of Nuo masks, a traditional Chinese artifact of intangible cultural significance. The researchers conducted a literature review to gather information about Nuo culture and masks that could represent Jiangxi. Features of the masks were analyzed and classified. The result are as follows. First, the symbolic characteristics of Jiangxi's Nuo masks can be divided into those based on their origin and history, the user's social status, and the notions of primitive beliefs of the chosen people, such as naturism and totemism. Second, Nuo masks' splendid decorations convey meanings such as luck, the bixie, longevity, wealth, and peace in the family. Third, playfulness in mask-making is about dismantling the original form of the mask, re-creating it through application. Fourth, the masks express primitiveness mostly by conserving the wood's original color or material. The initial masks carved to represent images of figures aptly deliver the primitive forms and images of Nuo culture. In this study, Nuo masks were developed and produced using the 3D digital technology CLO 3D by adopting the expressive characteristics and applying design methods such as asymmetricity, exaggeration, and modification. The results of this study demonstrate the possibility of creating diverse as well as economical designs through the reduction of production.

패션디자인에 나타난 몰핑의 표현특성 (The Expressive Characteristics of Morphing in Fashion Design)

  • This study analyzed the characteristics of morphing in fashion design through the documentaries on morphing and fashion. The characteristics of morphing in fine art, media, and design area were categorized as reversible metamorphosis, sequential dissolve and blurring of interpolation boundaries. The results were as follow in fashion design. Reversible metamorphosis showed an automatic silhouette transformation by remote control, the metamorphosis of folding method by wearer's own movements and the automatic silhouette transformation by the air pressurizing method. It represented the thoughts of omnipotence as in the feeling of the magical world, the human desire for control in life, the rationalization of magical thinking and imaginative power, the creation of a new dress space and the extension of dress function. Sequential dissolve showed juxtaposition in the same area by the time order, juxtaposition in virtual space through the computer graphics, the series of fashion photography by steel cut of the dress making process and the blending of digital film and fashion design. It represented the approach for the storytelling of fashion show, implication of creative fashion design process and the creation of organic forms and the feeling of fantasy through artificial technology. The blurring of interpolation boundary showed an overlay of different fabrics with transparent boundaries, an overlay of different patterns with transparent boundaries and the blending of fabrics through the visual mixing of color. It represented the obfuscation of the object, the connotation of the space order, the connotation of the extensive and various meanings and the integrative property of objects.
