The present study was undertaken to characterize the biodegradation of phenoxy herbicides, 2,4-D and MCPP, under aerobic conditions. Specifically, the work had the following objectives; i) to develop and characterize bacterial mixed cultures for the 2,4-D and MCPP degradation, ii) to evaluate the degradation of 2,4-D and MCPP in shake-flasks and stirred tank reactors; and iii) to evaluate the treatment of industrial fertilizer solid wste material containing 2,4-D and MCPP.

In study, we evaluate the texture and satisfaction of building exterior materials using red mud, which is generated as a by product of industrial use, and present an objective indicator by predicting the influence of exterior elements such as material type and roughness in the evaluation of building exterior materials.

The MDDA(Modified Dynamic Drainage Analyzer) was developed to evaluate the drainage at hydrofoil table roll and low vacuum devices on fourdrinier paper machine MB-former. Comparison of the results was obtained using a computer simulation system based on Taylor's equation and filtration equation and by measuring the consistency profile in a paper machine presented an agreement within 10.7% This device can evaluate the dewatering pro-file on wire for various stock properties adjust dewatering devices on fourdrinier paper machine and control the dosage of retention aids for improving paper structural properties and runnability of papermachine.

It is important to evaluate the voltage characteristics of diesel generator as an emergency power supply in nuclear power plant. On loss of offsite power sources, emergency safeguard loads required to safely shutdown the reactor should be supplied by diesel generator. This paper presents the dynamic stability program to evaluate diesel generator performance as an emergency power system. The results Indicate the diesel generator ability to start the motors successfully seems to life in its impedances and inertias.

A system dynamics model is developed in order to evaluate the contribution level of the activities regarding HANARO, which is the research reactor in Korea. The system dynamics model has room to be improved, but it is logically sound enough to evaluate the general level of contributions and to develop strategies for the HANARO to be more contributable. Considering the uncertainty involved with the input variables, the contribution level is ranged from 3 times to about 30 times of the investment made on it. The evaluation results can be summarized as follows : (Table Omitted).

As the power industry moves towards open competition, there has been a call for methodology to evaluate power system reliability by using customer interruption costs. This paper presents an evaluation of the interruption costs for public customers in Korea using customer survey methodology. When various research results are examined, the evaluation of direct interruption costs becomes much more simplified. Especially, in the case of public customers, it is known that the evaluation of direct interruption costs is more useful. Accordingly, this paper selected the customer survey method to evaluate the interruption costs for public customers in Korea considering interruption and customer characteristics.

This paper shows two models of the duplex system having a fault tolerant system characteristic used in airplane and railway system. The architecture of these systems is based on Mc68000, and we designed the single system, single duplex system, dual system and dual duplex system to evaluate the system characteristic. We calculate the failure rate of components using MIL-SPEC-2l7F and evaluate the reliability, avaliability, safety and MTTF(Mean Time To Failure) of the designed systems by Markov model. We choose our system depending on the developing system characteristic.

This paper represents a survey of a variety thresholding techniques including both global and local thresholding. Several thresholding methods are examined in detail to evaluate their performance based on a given set of test images. High flowing concrete has flowability, passability, segregation resistance and so on, and there are so many influence factor to affect to fluidity of high flowing concrete, therefore it is so difficult to evaluate exactly the properties in fresh state. This study is to analyze and evaluate thefluidity of high flowing concrete affected by fine aggregate with test method such as, slump-flow test, V-lot test, L-flow test, Box filling test.

This paper describes the result of wearing test on the Sangju test track. The purpose of the test is to evaluate an amount of wearing for EMU's panto shoes. Panto shoes are affected in wearing by environment of owing to expose the vehicle. Especially, the rainy season, they are found easy to get an increase in wearing of panto shoes. To evaluate an amount of wearing, we ca]lied out running test for 5 months under the ground line conditions.
