단일 센서 방식의 적응 능동 소음제어 (Adaptive Active Noise Control of Single Sensor Method)

  • Active noise control is an approach to reduce the noise by utilizing a secondary noise source that destructively interferes with the unwanted noise. In general, active noise control systems rely on multiple sensors to measure the unwanted noise field and the effect of the cancellation. This paper develops an approach that utilizes a single sensor. The noise field is modeled as a stochastic process, and an adaptive algorithm is used to adaptively estimate the parameters of the process. Based on these parameter estimates, a canceling signal is generated. Oppenheim assumed that transfer function characteristics from the canceling source to the error sensor is only a propagation delay. This paper proposes a modified Oppenheim algorithm by considering transfer characteristics of speaker-path-sensor This transfer characteristics is adaptively cancelled by the proposed adaptive modeling technique. Feasibility of the proposed method is proved by computer simulations with artificially generated random noises and sine wave noise. The details of the proposed architecture. and theoretical simulation of the noise cancellation system for three dimension enclosure are presented in the Paper.

VARIABLE SELECTION VIA PENALIZED REGRESSION

  • In this paper, we review the variable-selection properties of LASSO and SCAD in penalized regression. To improve the weakness of SCAD for high noise level, we propose a new penalty function called MSCAD which relaxes the unbiasedness condition of SCAD. In order to compare MSCAD with LASSO and SCAD, comparative studies are performed on simulated datasets and also on a real dataset. The performances of penalized regression methods are compared in terms of relative model error and the estimates of coefficients. The results of experiments show that the performance of MSCAD is between those of LASSO and SCAD as expected.

  • In this paper, Hadamard transform imaging spectrometers utilizing Grill spectrometers are proposed. General Hadamard Transform Spectrometers (HTS) carry out one-encoding through input masks, but Grill spectrometers carry out double-encoding through entrance and exit masks. Thus Grill spectrometers increase the signal-to-noise ratio by double-encoding. we reconfigure the system by using the Grill spectrometers which use a left cyclic S-matrix instead of the conventional right cyclic one. Then, we model the system and apply the mask characteristics method, i.e. $T^{I}$ method, to complete fast algorithm. Through computer simulations, we want to prove the superiority of the proposed system by comparing with the conventional HTS. From Observations concerning the average mean square error(AMSE) associated with estimates from the $T^{I}$ spectrum-recovery method, the relative performances of the two systems are compared.

  • Several sensorless vector control methods of induction motor have been proposed, but these methods don't have the satisfying performance to the change of the rotor time constant. Therefore, this paper proposes the sensorless vector control method which estimates the rotor speed using MRAS and compensates the rotor time constant using current error feedback at the same time. This method can guarantees the accurate performance of sensorless vector control while the rotor speed and the rotor time constant are changing. This method is verified by computer simulation using SIMULINK in MATLAB.

  • An optimal tuning algorithm of scaling factors is presented in this paper to automatically improve the performance of fuzzy controller. Especially, fuzzy controller has determined an moderate Scaling factor through trial and error. The presented method estimates automatically the optimal values of I/O scaling factors, using modified steepest descent method and this optimal tuning is for nonlinear input/output scaling factors. Simulation results verify the validity of the presented method.

Estimating BP Decoding Performance of Moderate-Length Irregular LDPC Codes with Sphere Bounds

  • This paper estimates belief-propagation (BP) decoding performance of moderate-length irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes with sphere bounds. We note that for moderate-length($10^3{\leq}N{\leq}4\times10^3$) irregular LDPC codes, BP decoding performance, which is much worse than maximum likelihood (ML) decoding performance, is well matched with one of loose upper bounds, i.e., sphere bounds. We introduce the sphere bounding technique for particular codes, not average bounds. The sphere bounding estimation technique is validated by simulation results. It is also shown that sphere bounds and BP decoding performance of irregular LDPC codes are very close at bit-error-rates (BERs) $P_b$ of practical importance($10^{-5}{\leq}P_b{\leq}10^{-4}$).

Analytical solutions to piezoelectric bimorphs based on improved FSDT beam model

  • This paper presents an efficient and accurate coupled beam model for piezoelectric bimorphs based on improved first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The model combines the equivalent single layer approach for the mechanical displacements and a layerwise modeling for the electric potential. General electric field function is proposed to reasonably approximate the through-the-thickness distribution of the applied and induced electric potentials. Layerwise defined shear correction factor (k) accounting for nonlinear shear strain distribution is introduced into both the shear stress resultant and the electric displacement integration. Analytical solutions for free vibrations and forced response under electromechanical loads are obtained for the simply supported piezoelectric bimorphs with series or parallel arrangement, and the numerical results for various length-to-thickness ratios are compared with the exact two-dimensional piezoelasticity solution. Excellent predictions with low error estimates of local and global responses as well as the modal frequencies are observed.

  • This paper estimates numerically cells the electrical characteristics of the PV module with environmental changes such as shunt resistance, series resistance, temperature, irradiance. Series resistance $R_s$ including diode characteristic resistance $r_d$ is derived from the p-n junction diode model. I-V characteristics of this model with series resistance $R_s$ are simulated on Matlab. Finally, theoretical I-V characteristics are compared with those of solar simulator. Those results agreed well within the manufacturer's maximum error range 3%

Ultrasonic Distance Measurement Method by Using the Envelope Model of Received Signal Based on System Dynamic Model of Ultrasonic Transducers

  • In order to acquire an accurate TOF, this paper proposes a method that produces TOF by using a mathematical model for the envelope of the received signal obtained from a system dynamic model of ultrasonic transducer. The proposed method estimates the arrival time of the received signal retrospectively by comparing its wave form obtained after triggering point with its mathematical envelope model. Experimental result shows that the error due to variation of triggering point can be dramatically decreased by implementing the proposed method.
